Notre Dame 2027 QB target Teddy Jarrard will commit later this week on July 24th
The Irish won't have to wait long to find out if they'll add the 6-foot, 3-inch and 200-pounders to their 2027 class, as on Monday he announced that he will be making his commitment just a few days from now, on July 24th. The other four teams Jarrard is considering are Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State, as he is looking to shut down the process early.
It worked out well for Notre Dame at their 2026 quarterback commit Noah Grubbs, who also opted to end his recruitment extremely early. There is more than enough positive momentum for the Irish, as there has been a few insiders that believe the Blue and Gold will win out for Jarrard.
Jarrard has done extremely well during the camp circuit this spring and summer, and has made a jump in recruiting rankings since then. He's currently the No. 195 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite, and would be a great addition to Notre Dame's 2027 recruiting class.

Steelers' Aaron Rodgers predicts two offensive linemen to be involved in first camp fight
"No fighting something starts kick his ass" 😂😂@AaronRodgers12 #PMSLive Steelers training camp on Wednesday was filled with hilarious moments — courtesy of the relationship between Aaron Rodgers and one of his closest friends and fellow Yinzer Pat McAfee. Rodgers appeared on a special edition of The Pat McAfee Show live from Latrobe, where he joked that everyone is taking bets on which players will be the first to get into fights at training camp — picking two offensive linemen as his prediction. "We're all taking side bets on who the first fight is gonna be," Rodgers said. "And if I'm a betting man, I'm saying that either Zach Frazier or Mason McCormick will be involved in the first fight." Rodgers then added a hilarious one-liner when discussing the expectations at training camp. "That's one of the rules, no fighting," Rodgers said. "But if something starts, whip his a--." Jokes aside, the revamped Steelers roster checks a lot of boxes — including fiery personalities and trash talkers like CB Jalen Ramsey and WR DK Metcalf, two new acquisitions who continue to turn heads as camp rolls on. Kalen DeBoer updates status of injured Alabama wide receiver following first practice
After months away, the Alabama Crimson Tide officially returned to the practice field Wednesday for the start of fall camp. Following the Crimson Tide's first practice as well, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer also took the podium, taking questions from the media for the first time since SEC football media days. As part of this, DeBoer was asked about returning wide receiver Jalen Hale, a player who missed the entirety of the 2024 season due to an injury, along with where the former top prospect currently stands entering fall camp, along with what to expect going forward. "Just Jalen Hale, and where he was at a year ago with the injury, actually, in the spring in 2024, just a pretty significant injury at the time, and between he and then our medical staff, just doing an awesome job of pushing forward," DeBoer said. "Our whole team is proud of him, not just me. We've talked about that in the winter, during December, I remember addressing it with the team. Guys being excited about having him out there finally doing some things with the team, and then the spring was the next step, and through the summer and him out there. But there's reps that he hasn't taken. Banked reps that other guys have, and so he's still learning as we go. Every rep, he's gonna get more-and-more confident, but he's certainly got a lot of tools, and I want to see his growth. Excited about that this fall." Hale originally came to Alabama as a member of the Crimson Tide's 2023 recruiting class where he was considered the nation's No. 41 overall player that cycle, per the 247Sports Composite rankings. A highly-rated four-star recruit, Hale was also considered the nation's No. 6 wide receiver out of Longview High School in Texas. Once in Tuscaloosa as well, Hale went on to make an impact as a true freshman in 2023, hauling in five receptions for 148 yards and a touchdown across 13 games. Hale however did not play a year ago due to injury, and now enters his redshirt sophomore season at Alabama this fall as undoubtedly a name to know in the Crimson Tide's deep wide receiver room, one who could potentially have a breakout campaign if back to full health. Ronald Acuña Jr. placed on IL with Achilles inflammation, could reportedly be back within 2-3 weeks
Atlanta Braves All-Star Ronald Acuña Jr. was placed on the injured list Wednesday with Achilles inflammation in his right leg, a day after leaving a game early against the Kansas City Royals. The Braves announced his diagnosis shortly after his exit on Tuesday. After the game, manager Brian Snitker confirmed to reporters that Acuña would be placed on the 10-day injured list. He was seen in a walking boot after the game. Per Mark Bowman, an MRI revealed a Grade 1 calf strain for the outfielder, a diagnosis mild enough that he could be back within 2-3 weeks. [Join or create a Yahoo Fantasy Football league for the 2025 NFL season] Acuña left the game with two outs in the bottom of the sixth. Kansas City's Vinnie Pasquantino hit a fly ball to deep right-center field that Acuña couldn't reach. It bounced off the warning track and over the fence for a ground-rule RBI double that extended Kansas City's lead to 9-3. Acuña jogged from his spot in the outfield, then left to the Braves clubhouse with a trainer. The Royals held on for a 9-6 victory. Per multiple reports from the game, Acuña showed signs of discomfort prior to the play that preceded his exit. After the game, he said through an interpreter that he sustained the injury while running from first to home on a play the previous night, while wiping tears from his eyes multiple times: "I think it definitely got worse today. I told them yesterday and everyone said, 'Hey, take the day if you want it. You can take the day off,' but I've just missed so much time through injuries I don't want to miss any more time. "I was out there hoping they wouldn't hit it my way and of course when you do that, they always hit it your way." The injury is the latest in a stellar career that has been plagued by leg injuries. Acuña has sustained ACL tears in each of his knees — the right in 2021 and the left in 2024. In between, he won the 2023 MVP Award while leading the National League in hits, runs scored, stolen bases and on-base percentage. Injuries have limited Acuña to 82 games or fewer in three of his seven MLB seasons. He missed the first 49 games of this season while recovering from the ACL tear sustained last year. Despite the injuries, Acuña has been named an All-Star in five of his seven MLB seasons as one of the most versatile and gifted offensive players in baseball. He was also named Rookie of the Year in one of the two years he wasn't an All-Star. Acuña and the Braves are certainly hoping this latest setback won't require an extended stay on the injured list. With the 45-61 Braves 12.5 games out of the wild-card race as of the conclusion of Tuesday's game, there should be little motivation for the team to rush him back.
