Pregnant Katherine Ryan 'dejected' at the thought of her baby being a boy
The Canadian star, 42, is currently expecting her fourth child. She is already a proud mum of 16-year-old Violet and her children with Bobby Kootstra: son Fred, four, and daughter Fenna, two.
However, she'd seemingly much prefer adding another girl to her brood, having already confirmed that baby number four will be her last.
In an appearance on Heart Radio's breakfast show this morning, she confessed to hosts Jamie Theakston and Zoe Hardman that she's been 'antagonised' by men throughout her life.
She also joked about youngest Fred being a 'toxic male'.
Katherine, who confirmed her pregnancy last month, began: 'I have to say that I can't ever complain post-first trimester.
'I'm quite big, so I think it might be a boy, so I'm feeling dejected about that, because men have just antagonised me all my life, even before they're born.'
After welcoming her kids thus far in the order of 'girl, boy, girl,' Katherine said she never finds out her baby's sex beforehand.
'It's always a surprise, and I love that. It's vintage', she stated.
The Duchess star then declared that she will inevitably suffer 'gender disappointment' if her little one arrives as a boy.
'I will have it (gender disappointment) this time if it's a boy. You know what it is, my son is a toxic male; he's four years old, and he always wants to fight me,' she shared.
Katherine recalled: 'I drove him to nursery the other day; he sat behind me, and he had a sword held to my throat for a while.
'Like, who's giving you weapons?'
'I didn't grow up with brothers, so it's been an adjustment for me,' she admitted.
But don't worry, it's all in jest—in true Katherine style, of course—as she assured listeners: 'But I love him; he's a very special guy.'
At the end of June, Katherine revealed that she kept her second pregnancy secret out of fear of losing work.
She was presenting Ready to Mingle on ITV at the time and was eight months pregnant, which nobody knew.
Katherine claimed that she would be unable to get insured during the project if she were pregnant.
In an interview with The Sun, she said: 'During my pregnancy, I wasn't telling anyone. You can't get insured on any production if you are pregnant. Sometimes, if you are important enough, they go the extra mile. You see Holly Willoughby pregnant and that's because she's worth it.
'I tried to keep it secret. People just thought I was really fat for ages. I had to keep it quiet. I still needed to work to feed my family.'
Katherine added that she didn't want to 'let down a production' if she encountered any complications during pregnancy.
The beloved 8 Out of 10 Cats comic has been open about her fertility struggles in the past, having suffered three devastating miscarriages over the span of five years.
'I'm old. I used to think I was going to be the babies' dad because I'm working, but actually I'm like their grandmother,' she told OK! Magazine last November.
'My back hurts; sometimes I give them treats. I'm like a fun grandma.'
The beloved stand-up star, who frequently uses the ups and downs of parenting for material in her routines, admitted that she'd been deterred from expanding her family after learning the shocking statistics about pregnancy. More Trending
'We've always gotten pregnant with the babies quite quickly. I've been pregnant five times in five years, but that also means I've had three miscarriages in five years,' she said, adding that the likelihood of miscarriage increases as a woman gets older.
'You have to find a balance between what you can personally stand and risks you're willing to take.'
When confirming that she won't be having any more kids now, she told the Telling Everyone Everything podcast that while she 'loves making people' with partner Bobby, she believes it would be 'almost irresponsible to the children that [they] have and to [themselves]' should they continue.

Love Island receive over 1,000 complaints following 'bullying' scenes
Ofcom has revealed that Love Island received over 1000 complaints by viewers about the ITV2 show last week, with many outraged by Islander Harrison's 'misogynistic' behaviour Ofcom has revealed that Love Island received over 1,000 complaints last week, with viewers accusing Harrison and other contestants of displaying "misogynistic" behaviour. A total of 1,071 complaints were made across four episodes last week, with Friday's episode drawing in the highest number - 527 complaints. Ofcom told The Mirror that 280 of the complaints were related to "misogynistic behaviour, most notably by Harrison, Harry and Dejon," while 247 focused on "bully behaviour and mental wellbeing of contestants, most notably linked to Shakira being bullied" during the 18 July episode. Meanwhile, fans had already threatened to contact Ofcom last week over Shakira's treatment by Harry, Harrison, and Dejon, particularly after Harrison referred to Shakira and Conor as a "one-sided couple." As for the other episodes which received complaints, Sunday 20 July had 222 viewers complain over "alleged misogynistic behaviour by Dejon." Meanwhile, on Tuesday, 15 July, a total of 221 viewers lodged complaints, with the majority expressing concern over the "alleged misogynistic behaviour by Harrison." However, 44 were related to "how Lauren was portrayed in the edit of the episode" and 34 were about the "alleged bullying behaviour towards Shakira and Toni." For the episode on 17 July, 69 viewers complained about Harrison's "alleged misogynistic behaviour", while 27 complained about "alleged bullying behaviour and expressed concern for the mental wellbeing of Shakira." Ofcom has not yet confirmed whether it will launch an investigation into ITV in response to the complaints. ITV has several duty of care protocols in place, including providing Islanders with training before entering the villa that covers language, behaviour and the importance of mutual respect in relationships. It had been a pretty dramatic week inside the Love Island villa, with Lauren - who was previously coupled up with Harrison - being dumped from the villa after she was left single. Just a day later, viewers watched as Harrison chose to leave the villa and follow Lauren, with the controversial contestant revealing he still had feelings for him. During last Tuesday's episode, which received over 200 Ofcom complaints, viewers were left shocked after ITV aired a saucey bedroom exchange between Harrison and Lauren. Harrison could be seen reaching over to Helena and Harry's bed in the night and asking: "Do you have a condom?" Helena quickly grabbed one from a drawer, and Harry handed it over before the couple slipped under the covers. However, fans were unimpressed by the moment, especially since Harrison had recently admitted he still had feelings for his ex, Toni. Taking to X, one viewer wrote: "Did Harry just pass a condom to Lauren and Harrison???! I didn't know I was watching too hot to handle," while a second shocked fan said: "I have never. In all my years seen someone ask for a condom on #loveisland. Like yayyyyy for sexual safety but that is tooooooooooo much."

I know why desperate Meghan and Harry REALLY held peace talks – they'll be begging for handouts now, expert claims
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A ROYAL expert has claimed the real reason why Meghan and Harry held peace talks, saying the Duke and Duchess will now be begging for handouts. Journalist and author Robert Jobson made the revealing comments whilst appearing on The Sun's latest Royal Exclusive show. Mr Jobson, talking to The Sun's Matt Wilkinson said: 'Well, the deal was always set about $100 million, wasn't it? 'And the talk of that figure sort of blew a lot of people's minds, but I think that was for productions and things that they're supposed to have done. 'Where does it leave them? Probably with a bit of a bowl out, looking for some handouts.' He added: 'Maybe that's why they were over with their staff, were over here having discussions with the King. I don't know. 'The reality is in the past they got support from the King and the late Queen, and they said they were going to go and make their way. 'They've lost Spotify, they've lost Netflix. 'They can't rely on the spare money forever, can they?' The show's other guest, Sky News' royal correspondent Rhiannon Mills also speculated what the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would now do for money. She said: 'It's just fascinating. They have this very expensive lifestyle. Meghan and Harry must need more money - their staff induction bill alone will be HUGE 'They have to pay for their security, pay for that big mansion. 'How do you kind of keep the money coming in?' Earlier this month it was revealed Netflix will not renew their contract when it expires in September. The Sussexes and Netflix have mutually decided not to make an official announcement. But streaming execs have quietly agreed to part ways. It comes after Harry's vanity project, Polo, about the sport, was watched by just 500,000 people. It was also understood that bosses were mildly infuriated by Meghan making her As Ever brand a priority. A source said streamer Paramount+ was thought to be keen to work with the couple, who would be open to it if the right project came along. Last month it was announced Netflix had signed a deal with King Charles and Idris Elba for a documentary exploring the impact of the King's Trust. And it was understood any deal with the Sussexes could be seen as a hindrance to that link-up. Netflix declined to comment. Harry is said to have 'given his blessing' for the peace talks involving two of his team plus the King and Queen's director of communications. They spoke about potential ways to end their family conflict, though a proposal for Harry to make a royal return was not on the agenda. Adding intrigue to the developments, Prince William's team were not involved in the London summit. California-based Harry is next due to visit the UK in September for the annual WellChild events. It opens up the prospect of meeting his father for the first time in 18 months. Buckingham Palace had also supported the proposals to 'open a channel of communication' — it has been claimed. 5 The loss of the Netflix deal comes after the couple lost their deal with Spotify Credit: AP

I bought Ian Fleming's incredible UK beach home for under £1million – now I'm selling up because it's ‘too small'
Owner spotted it while swimming the Channel NEVER STAY NEVER I bought Ian Fleming's incredible UK beach home for under £1million – now I'm selling up because it's 'too small' Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A JAMES Bond superfan who snapped up Ian Fleming's former seaside home for less than £1million is putting it back on the market – because he says it's no longer big enough for his family. Mermaid Cottage, the striking 1920s Art Deco house in St Margaret's Bay, Kent, was once owned by both Bond creator Ian Fleming and legendary playwright Noel Coward. Fleming is believed to have written part of Moonraker at the property between 1951 and 1957, taking inspiration from the surrounding cliffs and coastline for the novel's dramatic setting. Its villain, Hugo Drax, constructs his deadly Moonraker rocket just outside Dover, near Deal. Coward had owned the house previously and renamed it 'White Cliffs' after restoring it following wartime damage by British and Canadian troops preparing for D-Day. He spent around £2,000 reinforcing the chalk cliffs and reportedly found his love of painting during his years there, according to Dover Museum. The house passed to Fleming in 1951, becoming his weekend and holiday escape. It remained in private hands until 2008, when current owner Mark Sawyer spotted it during a visit to Kent with his then-partner. The 56-year-old, who works in private equity, first glimpsed the village while swimming the Channel in a team relay: 'I distinctly remember the captain of the boat saying, 'There's St Margarets, it's a really pretty village'. I saw it from the water for the first time.' Although the house wasn't officially on the market, the couple fell in love with it and persuaded the estate agent to take it off the books immediately with a £20,000 deposit. They bought it for £800,000 and have since spent around £1million on renovations, including buying land to extend the garden. James Bond expert drops huge hint about new 007 actor after he starred in movie with huge A-list actress 'I'm a massive Bond fan. For me that was the cherry on the cake,' Sawyer said. 'Most people say when we're down there: squint and you could be in the Mediterranean,' he added. 'In the winter, the bay is so much quieter. "You sit there with the log-burning stove roaring with a storm blowing outside. 7 A JAMES Bond superfan who snapped up Ian Fleming's former seaside home for less than £1million Credit: Rex "You're immersed in nature. 7 After nearly two decades in Mermaid Cottage, Mark Sawyer is selling his Bond-worthy home "The only land you can see from our living room is France.' His partner Lara Jewitt, a Chelsea Flower Show gold medallist, helped design the garden, which echoes the style of Derek Jarman's Prospect Cottage. The couple bought land from the council in 2014 to create it, but soon ran out of space. 'We developed every square inch down there, and we just wanted a bit more room,' Sawyer said. 'I never thought I would sell it, to be honest with you. It has three bedrooms, and that is too small to have both of my children back, potentially in the future with their partners, and my family to stay.' Not everyone is pleased about the decision. 'My daughter is still not talking to me since I told her I am selling it,' he admitted. 'She'll get over it eventually.' Strutt & Parker, who are handling the sale, describe Mermaid Cottage as a 'breathtaking location' with a 'rich history of famous connections.' 7 They bought it for £800,000 and have since spent around £1million on renovations, including buying land to extend the garden Credit: Strutt & Parker
