, who originally played the male lead Kartik, is being replaced by
Jay Soni
.
Confirming the development, Jay says, 'Yes, I am replacing Sorab to play the new Kartik. I don't know why he has been replaced, and I haven't asked the production house about the reason either.'
When asked about stepping into someone else's shoes midway through a show, he shares his straightforward approach. He says, 'It's not about how comfortable I am replacing someone—I don't think that way. I just want to perform and give my best, whether I'm playing a brand-new character or replacing someone.

He adds that he had no hesitation in joining the show despite it being fairly new. He shares, 'I wasn't apprehensive because the show launched just a month ago. Also, in today's time, there's no fixed formula in television that says whether a show is new or if joining midway makes a difference. As an actor, I believe in doing my job sincerely and leaving the rest to God.'

The game has reportedly generated $1 million in gross player spending on the first day of its release. As per Appfigures data (as seen by Bloomberg), the colourful shooting title that first came out on PC in 2020 had nearly 170,000 downloads through App Store on its debut date (almost as many as Tencent's DnF Mobile a year earlier) and currently ranks as the top downloaded iPhone app in the country. Co-developed by Tencent-backed Riot Games and Lightspeed Studios , the mobile version of the game is currently exclusive to China, with no announced global release date. The free-to-play game earns revenue through in-app purchases and character cosmetics, a similar strategy to Tencent's previous mobile hit, DnF Mobile. Appfigures noted that while DnF Mobile generated nearly five times more revenue at launch, Valorant currently ranks sixth among the highest-earning games. Last week, the company announced that Valorant Mobile received over 70 million pre-registrations across platforms. However, Appfigures does not measure spending or downloads on Android, which operates through multiple app stores in China. The original Valorant PC game is known for its fast-paced style, where players can be eliminated quickly. State govt announces best ganesh pandal contest 2025
Surat: Ahead of Ganesh Mahotsav, the state govt has announced the Best Ganesh Pandal Competition 2025, to be held in Surat, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, and 29 districts across Gujarat. The event is being organized by the commissioner of Youth Services and Cultural Activities, Gandhinagar. In each city and district, local committees will select the winners. The top three pandals will receive cash prizes of Rs 5 lakh, Rs 3 lakh, and Rs 1.5 lakh, respectively. Five additional pandals will get consolation prizes of Rs 1 lakh each. The contest will be theme-based, with evaluation criteria including decoration, creativity, eco-friendly Ganesh idols, use of indigenous materials in line with the PM's "Vocal for Local" call, social messaging, and appropriate venue selection. This year, special emphasis will be given to themes of Operation Sindoor, patriotism, and swadeshi products, with pandals showcasing these ideas receiving higher recognition. For Surat, a local implementation committee has been formed under the chairmanship of municipal commissioner Shalini Agarwal. The district youth development officer will serve as member secretary, alongside representatives from education, police, administration, and invited members.
