THE FLASH Star Ezra Miller Eyes Tentative Hollywood Return in New Lynne Ramsay Film Which They Are Co-Writing — GeekTyrant
At the time, Miller issued a statement saying that they are seeking treatment for 'complex mental health issues,' and offered an apology.
This week marked Miller's first appearance back on the Hollywood scene, as they attended the Cannes Film Festival premiere of Die My Love to support Lynne Ramsay, who directed Miller in We Need to Talk About Kevin .
Miller was at another fest recently, Filming Italy Sardegna, and gave an interview to Italian publication Lo Speciale Giornale where they said they'd return to the industry 'on tentative grounds.' Miller also called Ramsay 'one of the greatest living filmmakers' and revealed that they're working on a new movie together.
Miller said, 'I'm working with her again, that will likely be the first thing I do. It's a film that her and I are writing together. And I came to Cannes because she asked me to come, and if there's anything I really still believe in in my life, it's devotion to one's people, one's loved ones … above all else.'
Miller admitted that they 'didn't necessarily want to go to Cannes' and 'had a bit of a hard time,' adding, 'That's a tough reentry point. If you've been in the woods for three years, I do not recommend going straight to Cannes. But yeah, I did that for Lynne. I would do anything for Lynne.'
Stay tuned for updates on the actor's future projects.

Lego Batman Returns in a New Game Packed With Bat-Nostalgia
Have you ever wanted to control Lego Batman through his entire history from comics, TV, movies, and more? Well, that looks to be exactly what you're going to get to do in the newly announced game, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. Revealed today at GamesCon, Legacy of the Dark Knight is a 'brand-new open-world action-adventure video game that invites players to embark on Bruce Wayne's epic journey to become the hero of Gotham City.' It's 'inspired by decades of Batman films, television, comic books, and games, and jam-packed with Batman nostalgia, DC lore, and TT Games' signature brand of fun-filled LEGO humor.' And, frankly, that might be an understatement. Check this out. As you can see, Legacy of the Dark Knight isn't just one Bat story. It looks to be almost all of them. There's stuff in there from the Tim Burton movies, the Christopher Nolan movies, the Matt Reeves movie, Lego games, The Animated Series, and more. What's interesting about that, though, is it's not quite a direct one-to-one tale. If you remember Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga from a few years back, you literally played through each movie in the series. It doesn't seem as if that's the case here. Instead, you just kind of go in and out of everything as part of one larger story. The game features 'a story-led campaign from origin to legend, bringing together iconic moments from the Caped Crusader's 86-year history in film, television, comic books, and games.' The open world Gotham City has 'puzzles to solve, challenges to complete, rewards to collect, crimes to stop, and surprises to discover around every corner, alleyway, and rooftop, as well as familiar locations such as Ace Chemicals, Gotham Botanical Gardens, Wayne Tower, and Arkham Asylum.' But no, Will Arnett is not voicing Lego Batman in this. That is Matt Berry as Bane at the end. And you don't only have to play the game as Batman. According to the game's official site (which is really quite slick and worth checking out), there are seven playable characters: Batman, Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul. Plus, 'each character is equipped with unique skills, combos, and gadgets—like Batman's Batclaw, Jim Gordon's foam sprayer, Robin's line launcher, and Catwoman's whip.' Head to that site for even more info. The FAQ is particularly jam-packed with details. And while there's no release date, we do know that Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC in 2026. Want more io9 news? Layoffs Hit ‘BioShock' Development Team Amid Delays; Rod Fergusson Named New Head of 2K Studio Cloud Chamber
Cloud Chamber, the 2K Games-owned studio behind 'BioShock 4,' is undergoing a round of layoffs amid delays for the upcoming game and a shakeup in leadership. 2K, a subsidiary of video game publishing giant Take-Two Interactive, has tapped Rod Fergusson as the new leader for the developer and its 'BioShock' franchise, Variety has confirmed. Most recently, Fergusson was general manager of the 'Diablo' franchise at Microsoft's Blizzard, where he launched 'Diablo IV.' As Gilmore was removed from the top posiiton at Cloud Chamber, 2K also moved the game's creative director, Hogarth de la Plante, into a publishing role. In an internal memo, which was provided to Variety by 2K on Tuesday, 2K Games president David Ismailer announced the pending layoffs to staffers: 'Work on the next BioShock game has been underway for several years. While we're excited about the foundational gameplay elements of the project, we've made the decision with studio leadership to rework certain aspects that are core to a BioShock game, and in doing so are reducing the size of the development team to focus on this work and give the game more time in development.' Representatives for 2K declined to comment on how many roles are being impacted in the layoffs. 'As Head of the BioShock Franchise, Rod will lead Cloud Chamber and oversee the development of the next BioShock game, as well as franchise extensions including our film partnership with Netflix,' Ismailer wrote. 'We will share more about Rod's onboarding and how these changes will take shape in the coming days and weeks. Rod and I worked together 10+ years ago and I am grateful he has chosen to return to lead our BioShock efforts.' The third and most recent 'BioShock' game, 'BioShock Infinite,' was released in 2013 and made by developer Irrational Games. 'BioShock 4' has been in the works at 2K's Cloud Chamber for more than a decade. Read the memo to staff from Ismailer in full below. Team – BioShock is woven deeply into the fabric of 2K. It's one of our most beloved franchises and respecting its legacy and meeting our fans' expectations is critical to its future success. Work on the next BioShock game has been underway for several years. While we're excited about the foundational gameplay elements of the project, we've made the decision with studio leadership to rework certain aspects that are core to a BioShock game, and in doing so are reducing the size of the development team to focus on this work and give the game more time in development. I know this is tough news for everyone. If your role is being affected, you'll hear from your manager or studio leadership today with details on severance, career services and support resources. There is no easy way to do this, but we hope to do whatever we can to support you through this. I want to thank each of you for your dedication and hard work. I also want to share an important studio leadership update. After an extensive search, I'm excited to announce Rod Fergusson will be leading Cloud Chamber as the new Head of the BioShock Franchise. Rod is an industry veteran with a proven history of critical and commercial success, including BioShock Infinite, Gears of War, and Diablo. Rod rejoins us from Blizzard, where he was GM of the Diablo franchise and launched Diablo IV – Blizzard's fastest-selling game ever. As Head of the BioShock Franchise, Rod will lead Cloud Chamber and oversee the development of the next BioShock game, as well as franchise extensions including our film partnership with Netflix. We will share more about Rod's onboarding and how these changes will take shape in the coming days and weeks. Rod and I worked together 10+ years ago and I am grateful he has chosen to return to lead our BioShock efforts. I recognize that today is a day of mixed emotions. We're excited to have Rod joining us, and are equally grateful to everyone at Cloud Chamber who has helped us get this far. These changes are rooted in 2K's firm confidence in BioShock as one of the most beloved franchises, and our commitment to deliver the best game in franchise history.
