Brooke Hogan and Steven Oleksy relocated from Michigan to Florida intentionally to support Hulk Hogan as his health declined. Oleksy, who had just retired from the NHL, and Brooke believed proximity would encourage healing.
'She was there for every surgery leading up to the last two years,' Oleksy told PEOPLE. 'She would fly down on her own dime, take care of her dad, and it just made a lot of sense. No one understood his body, procedures, medications and everything else more than my wife.'

'That money does not represent accomplishments in the ring, the majority of it came at the expense of my wife's dignity,' Oleksy stated (via Page Six), referring to the challenges caused by Hulk's public controversies.
