The Three People Ina Garten Calls Her ‘Dream Dinner Guests'

The Three People Ina Garten Calls Her 'Dream Dinner Guests' originally appeared on Parade. The right group of people seated at your table can make or break a dinner party, whether you're a regular old person like you and me or a TV star like Ina Garten. The Barefoot Contessa has built a career around recipes that are perfect for entertaining, so she knows a thing or two about having people over. She recently opened up about her 'dream dinner guests,' and it's an interesting mix. Garten shared her ideal guest list during the most recent "Sunday Sitdown Live" hosted by Today's Willie Geist. The session was done onstage in front of a live audience in New York City. The dynamic duo sipped cocktails and arranged a dessert platter while they answered questions from the crowd. 'Who are the three people, living or dead, you would like to have dinner with?' wondered one audience member. Garten didn't hesitate with her response. Here's what she shared. Related: For the record, Ina Garten says she has already hosted one dream dinner guest:. As Garten told Geist and the audience earlier in the interview, Taylor Swift came to Garten's East Hampton barn 10 years and the two of them made pavlova. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Ina Garten (@inagarten) But three people still remain on Garten's dream dinner guest list. In answer to Geist's question, Ina responded: 'How about Julia Child, Eric Ripert from Le Bernardin, and Jacques Pépin?' In case you're not familiar with Garten's guest list, just know they're not your average Joes. Julia Child is a legendary American chef, TV personality and cookbook author who is known for introducing French cuisine to the American public. (And not to make it all about us, but Julia Child was Parade's very first food editor.) Jacques Pépin is a celebrated French chef and author, TV star and the winner of many awards, including several James Beard Awards. He's another food personality who is loved around these parts. (You have to try his French toast, scrambled eggs and quiche recipes.) For his dream dinner guests, Geist listed off Dolly Parton, Martin Short and Geist's great-great grandfather, who played in the National Hockey League. If Geist and Garten brought their dream guests together, it would be one epic dinner party. Related: During the conversation with Geist, Garten also shared her advice on things to avoid at a dinner party. 'There are two things that I don't think you should ever bring to a dinner party—and they're so common—is something that the host feels like they should serve," she said, calling out Jell-O salad. "What are you going to do with that?" she adds. Garten also recommends against bringing loose flowers. 'Don't ever bring flowers that aren't in a vase,' she said. 'You're there. You're like, everyone's arriving, and then all of a sudden you've got these flowers and you have to figure out what to do."The Three People Ina Garten Calls Her 'Dream Dinner Guests' first appeared on Parade on Jun 2, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jun 2, 2025, where it first appeared.

Loca Loka Tequila's Golden Hour

At first blush, the idea of a tequila from the highlands of Mexico melded with the culture and creativity of India would seem an unlikely combination. But the vision of Loca Loka Tequila's founders—Indian film star Rana Daggubati, musician and composer Anirudh Ravichander, and entrepreneur Harsha Vadlamudi—and the craftsmanship of the artisans who shepherded the tequila from agave to bottle, have been rewarded with a gold medal at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC), one of the most prestigious spirits competitions in the world. Jalisco, By Way of New Delhi More from Robb Report Introducing Robinhood Legend, a New Frontier for Active Traders A Century in Bloom: Rioja at 100 181 Fremont's Grand Penthouse Redefines Urban Luxury The medal comes a year after the launch of Loca Loka, whose name is the Spanish word for 'crazy' and the Sanskrit word for 'world.' Jalisco, a state in Mexico where tequila is made, is more than 9,000 miles from New Delhi, India's capital. But there is common ground between the two cultures. Daggubati explains, 'Loca Loka was born from a shared passion for storytelling and cultural fusion. As co-founders, [we] brought together diverse experiences—from hospitality to music—to build a tequila brand that celebrates joy, flavor, and global connection.' With tequila having become a global phenomenon over the last couple of decades, the time has come for those who love it worldwide to use the category as a reflection of their own cultures. Loca Loka co-founder Ravichander is one of India's most renowned musicians, famed for his singing, writing, instrumental prowess and production both in films and on record. 'Music and spirits are a natural match,' Ravichander says, 'and I'd already seen tequila gaining traction in my circles. This felt like the perfect first step into entrepreneurship—an opportunity to merge my passion for music with a vibrant lifestyle brand. We're bringing the brand to life through live events and concerts, and I'm even composing original music inspired by Loca Loka.' Additive-Free, Made the Traditional Way Although Loca Loka was imagined in India, it's made according to Mexican tradition, without additives and with only the finest 100-percent blue Weber agave from the highlands of Jalisco. The agaves used to make the tequila have aged for at least six years, giving them a higher sugar content, which results in a better finished product. Loca Loka is available in two expressions: a blanco and a reposado. The blanco is unaged, showcasing the quality of the agave and the skill of the tequileros; the sweet flavor of cooked agave combines with a subtle earthiness and a smooth, prolonged finish. The reposado is aged for less than a year in a combination of French and American oak barrels. The French oak imparts a rounded sweetness while the American oak contributes vanilla and peppery spice, both of which harmonize with the sweet, lightly vegetal and mineral notes of the cooked agave, without overwhelming it. Both the blanco and the reposado are ideal for sipping as well as mixing. and the tequila's quality is evident even when tasted blind—as was the case in San Francisco, when the judges at the SFWSC awarded it the gold. Bringing Loca Loka to the World Loca Loka initially rolled out in the U.S. in 2024. In 2025, the brand looks to establish an international footprint, expanding to India as well as the U.K., Dubai, the Philippines, and Indonesia. Travel retail will also be a focus. 'With travel retail as a priority channel,' co-founder Vadlamudi explains, 'our journey will begin at [India's] Hyderabad International Airport, chosen for its growing consumer base and global connectivity. Through curated displays, tastings, and immersive brand storytelling, we aim to introduce Loca Loka as a premium discovery brand—celebrating cultural intersections and inviting international travelers to toast to a new era of celebration.' To have such a global reach is almost unheard of for such a young brand, but Loca Loka's trio of founders has positioned it as a tequila with worldwide appeal, from the stylish look of the bottles to the presence of Daggubati and Anirudh as its spokesmen. In the end, though, it's the quality of the spirit in the bottle that determines a brand's success—and as its triumph in San Francisco attests, Loca Loka's future is looking bright. MAGA Launches Bonkers Hunt to ‘Prove' Biden Is a Robot Clone

MAGAworld is spiraling after President Donald Trump boosted a conspiracy theory claiming former President Joe Biden was executed in 2020 and replaced by a robotic clone. From 'CIA masks' to a suspicious lack of veins, Trump's internet detectives are scouring every inch of Biden's body for signs of circuitry. Many of the sleuths—including Raven Harrison, a U.S. House candidate from Florida—believe they've found evidence that Biden's face is really a synthetic mask operated by a robot underneath. 'That's a mask. I don't know when he died. The Vegas trip?' one user commented. 'They were using doubles even back then? Clearly, this is a rubber mask.' Others dug up videos claiming to show 'Giant Biden,' a robot that supposedly replaced the real Biden and stands a few inches taller than the 'original.' One post proposed that Biden's moments of forgetfulness and stumbles are in fact 'disconnections' with his robotic system. Dozens of clips comparing Biden's recent speeches with older ones—where he appears more youthful and energetic—were offered as further 'evidence.' One user posted side-by-side photos of a younger and older Biden—labeled 'Original Biden' and 'Double Biden'—with arrows pointing to his right earlobe—which, according to the conspiracy theory, used to be attached, but now hangs free. And if that's not convincing enough, others pointed to a supposed change in Biden's eye color—from blue to black—as a final clue. Truth Social users celebrated Trump for finally revealing the 'truth.' 'The boss just posted this….how much more do people need!?" one user commented, along with three fire emojis. 'I believe the President Trump on this one,' another wrote. 'Sometimes Biden did look like a robot the way he held his hands gave it away ... Wake up Americans...' The robo-clone claims, in some ways, undercut a more grounded allegation—that Biden's team was involved in a 'cover-up' of his cognitive decline toward the end of his term—which has gained traction following revelations in a new bombshell book, Original Sin. Biden, who recently shared that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, has tried to push back on questions about his fitness for office, saying Friday that he felt well enough to 'beat the hell out of' Jake Tapper, the book's co-author. Biden now joins a list of celebrities who have been accused of dying and being swapped out, including The Beatles' Paul McCartney, who has been dodging rumors about his death since 1969, and Avril Lavigne, who has been plagued by a conspiracy theory involving her death and subsequent replacement by a clone since the 2000s. One commenter couldn't hide his delighted shock at Trump embracing such an outlandish conspiracy theory: 'Can't believe you really posted this!! HUGE! Thank you Mr. President!' But Trump has a long track record of promoting debunked or baseless theories, and his embrace of conspiracy thinking extends well beyond social media. Many of his closest allies frequently peddle in conspiracy theories, including Secretary of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., FBI Director Kash Patel, and recently-departed special advisor Elon Musk.
