Man grabbed woman in Rockland Town Forest before her dog scared him off, police say
It happened in the Rockland Town Forest on North Avenue next to Salem Street by the Abington/Rockland town line. Police said the woman was walking a dog when a man made inappropriate comments to her. As she tried to walk away, the man "aggressively" grabbed her arm. The dog then lunged at the man and he let go. The woman was able to escape and run with the dog to her car.
Police searched the woods but were unable to find the man.
The man described as white with a medium build who's possibly in his 50s. He had dark, short hair with some gray in it and was wearing a light colored t-shirt, khaki shorts and sneakers. Police said he has no visible scars or tattoos and didn't have any distinct accent when he spoke to the woman.
Anyone with information about the suspect or who has home surveillance footage of the area between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday is asked to contact the Rockland Police Department at 781-871-3890.
The Rockland Town Forest, also known as the George Anderson Town Forest, is 43 acres and features a wooded trail network. It was established in 1984.
Rockland is about 20 miles south of Boston in Plymouth County.

Two dead, two in hospital in London stabbing attack
A stabbing attack at a London business has killed two people and sent two more to the hospital, including the suspect who was in grave condition, police say. A 58-year-old man was killed at the scene in Southwark, south London, the Metropolitan Police said. A 27-year-old man died from his injuries at the hospital. Texas man pleads guilty to stalking WNBA star Caitlin Clark and gets 2 1/2 years in prison
A 55-year-old Texas man who told police he was in 'an imaginary relationship' with WNBA star Caitlin Clark was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison Monday after pleading guilty to stalking and harassing the Indiana Fever guard. Michael Lewis, of Denton, Texas, reached a deal with Marion County prosecutors in which he pleaded guilty to one felony count of stalking and one misdemeanor count of harassment. He will get credit for time served. Lewis also was ordered to stay away from Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Hinkle Fieldhouse, Fever events and Indiana Pacers organization events, as well as to have no contact with Clark. He also will not be allowed internet access during his sentence. Lewis was arrested on Jan. 12 after authorities alleged he sent hundreds of 'threats and sexually explicit messages' to Clark between Dec. 12, 2024, and Jan. 11, 2025. Lewis, who prophesized during Monday's courtroom proceedings that the end of the world was coming, also was recommended to get mental health treatment. The FBI tracked the IP addresses of Lewis' messages to a hotel in downtown Indianapolis as well as the Indianapolis Public Library. Indianapolis police then made a welfare check on Lewis, according to court documents, and he told officers that he was in 'an imaginary relationship' with Clark and that he came to Indianapolis on vacation. The messages to Clark continued after the initial visit by police. Clark, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, has been limited to 13 games this season because of injuries and is currently sidelined with a strained right groin.

Shooter opens fire at Reno casino, killing 2 and injuring several others
RENO, Nev. (AP) — A gunman opened fire Monday outside the largest casino in Reno, Nevada, killing two people and and wounding three others before being taken into custody, officials said. The suspected shooter at the Grand Sierra Resort was among those transported to a hospital, said Dr. Chad Kingsley, district health officer for the Northern Nevada Public Health Department. Officers arrived less than three minutes after the first shots rang out and fired at the suspect, police said in a statement. Authorities did not release the conditions of the suspect or the three others who were injured. The resort is one of Reno's most prominent venues, hosting concerts, sporting events and a campaign rally by President Donald Trump before the 2024 election. Near the California border and just northeast of Lake Tahoe, the town is a popular summer tourist destination. Hotel guests heard several shots coming from the resort's valet area around 7:30 a.m. Michael Sisco, 60, said he was in his room and about to head to the valet for his car when he heard popping sounds. He looked out his window and saw people screaming and running from the valet area. He said he saw a man holding his stomach and staggering before falling motionless next to a car. Sisco moved away from the window as the gunshots continued. 'A half hour after the incident I started shaking because I realized I could've been there,' he said. 'That's exactly where I was going.' Christina Martinez heard the shots just as she was stepping onto an elevator in the lobby, and they were still going off when she stepped out onto the 18th floor. Someone in a neighboring room told her there was a gunman right outside the main entrance, near where Martinez said she was getting coffee just moments before. 'I feel very blessed, but that's kind of why I had a panic attack,' she said. 'I was like, oh my God. I was just there.' Hours after the shooting, the entrance inside the casino leading to the valet area was roped off to guests and privacy screens were placed in front of the glass doors to block the view outside. In addition to those who were killed and the people taken to the hospital, three more were treated for minor injuries at the resort, according to Devon Reese, chair of the Board of Health in northern Nevada. One person was grazed by a bullet on their pinky finger, one was treated for severe anxiety and one was injured while running, he said. More than a year ago, two men were charged with fatally shooting another man who was staying at the resort in January 2024. The Grand Sierra claims to have the biggest casino floor in northern Nevada and sits just a few blocks from the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. It's also one of the tallest buildings in the city, with nearly 2,000 hotel rooms. 'My heart breaks for the victims, their families, and our entire community.
