Rain, flooding cause closure near I-15, Primm
Shortly after 5 p.m., drivers in the area were experiencing major delays as a result.
Heavy rains were expected across the Las Vegas area and surrounding areas. Over one inch of rain fell near Primm Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service of Las Vegas.
Drivers should avoid the area if possible.

Hollie Strano, former WKYC meteorologist, to do forecast work for southern radio stations
Hollie Strano, the former WKYC Channel 3 meteorologist who was fired in September 2024 from the station after 22 years, has found new work broadcasting the weather for southern radio stations, she said on Facebook. "What an honor it is to be bringing you the forecast each day, from my hometown in Cleveland to your radios down South!" Strano posted. "Grateful for the opportunity, and excited for what's ahead." Strano was arrested and charged in November 2023 with one count of operating a vehicle under the influence by Cuyahoga Falls police after her vehicle crashed near Towpath Tennis Center on Akron-Peninsula Road, hitting a fire hydrant. She reportedly had a blood alcohol level of 0.244%, more than three times the legal limit of 0.08%. She later pleaded guilty to the charge. Following Strano's dismissal, she sued her former company, claiming she was terminated for sharing her story on social media regarding her treatment for alcoholism and for promoting a product on her social media pages, although she said she received nothing of value from the brand for making the post. Strano currently hosts the "Abruptly Authentic with Hollie Strano" podcast which streams on Youtube. Severe weather coming for southern Ontario and your Saturday night plans
Saturday will see thunderstorms move into southern Ontario, after a hot week of high temperatures across the province. Thanks to a group of thunderstorms currently moving across the Midwest in the United States, some of the southern parts of the province can expect to see more severe storms. DON'T MISS: But the forecasts remain uncertain on the timing and location of the system as it moves east over the Great Lakes. Both north and south may see some rain Before the rain really starts to kick off, some scattered showers with embedded thunder potentially extend into the areas around Muskoka and Georgian Bay. READ MORE: The late afternoon is when we'll start to see a cluster of storms manifest, moving into Lake Huron and the Georgian Bay shores before reaching inland into southern Ontario. Between the late afternoon into early evening, that severe weather could hit from regions near Barrie to Sarnia, bringing heavy rainfall, large hail and the risk of strong winds. You may even be able to see a shelf cloud as the storm approaches. If you're in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), do not expect a wash out of a day or write off your weekend plans just yet. The morning and afternoon will likely be pleasant, feeling at or close to 30. The storms will reach the GTA by late evening or overnight, with 10-30+ mm of rain at the most.
