The
Toyota Corolla Cross
serves as the brand's entry-level crossover, and it's getting a few updates for the 2026 model year.
Toyota
has revamped the car's front fascia, differentiating between the gas and hybrid models, and made a few tweaks inside.

Toyota didn't make any powertrain changes to either variant. The hybrid remains the most powerful choice, making 196 horsepower combined, pairing a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with three electric motors. The gas-powered Corolla Cross has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder making 169 horsepower, connected to a continuously variable transmission.
Inside, the Corolla Cross now features a 10.5-inch infotainment display that sits above a redesigned center console, which sits next to a 7.0- or 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, depending on trim. Toyota repositioned the buttons and ports, better separated the gear selector from the cupholders, and removed some upright trim pieces. It's a few small changes that make a big difference.

Toyota will offer the gas-powered Corolla in three trims for 2026: L, LE, and XLE. The Corolla Cross Hybrid will also have three trims available: S, SE, and XSE. New to the crossover for this model year is Cavalry Blue exterior paint. It's available on the LE, XLE, SE, and XSE, with a two-tone Jet Black combo available on the hybrid versions. There are also two new 18-inch wheel designs for select trims.
Toyota didn't provide pricing for the 2026 Corolla Cross. The 2025 Corolla Cross starts at $25,485, including a $1,350 destination charge, for the entry-level L. The 2025 Corolla Cross Hybrid S, meanwhile, starts at $29,845. The automaker will release pricing closer to the crossover's on-sale date later this year. We expect modest increases across the board.

Why Amazon (AMZN) Stock Is Climbing Today

Aug 14 - Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) pushes hard into grocery today, expanding same-day delivery to more than 1,000 U.S. cities and aiming for 2,300 by year-end. The company pares the friction for shoppers: Prime members get free same-day delivery on orders over $25, and Amazon drops the prior $9.99 Prime grocery add-on. Non-Prime shoppers can use the service for a $12.99 fee. Shares of the company climbed about 4% following the news. Warning! GuruFocus has detected 4 Warning Sign with AMZN. Amazon backs the expansion with roughly $4 billion of logistics investment that also targets more than 4,000 rural communities. Management says bundling perishables with regular items lets customers shop less and buy more in a single cart, a direct challenge to Walmart+ and Instacart. Markets react: AMZN shares gain roughly 2% while competitors feel pressure, Instacart and Kroger slip, DoorDash eases. Analysts note the move reduces barriers for grocery trial among Prime users, but they flag margin risk: aggressive pricing and faster delivery increase costs until scale and efficiency kick in. Amazon's market cap stays massive, and this push looks like the company trading short-term profit for long-term share gains in a category it has yet to fully dominate. Should Retirement Wait Until 75? Millennials Say It Won't Matter Because Society Won't Make It That Far

An article excerpt suggesting people should consider working until 75 instead of 65 has struck a nerve with millennials on Reddit. It argued that pushing back retirement 'instantly add[s] a decade of peak earning years,' creating more savings and a more secure future. Peak Earning Years? Not If No One Hires You The reaction was swift and overwhelmingly critical. Many Reddit users said the suggestion ignores the reality of ageism in the workplace. "No one wants to hire a 55-year-old," one commenter wrote, adding that they've seen countless people laid off just years before retirement, forced to work low-wage jobs for another decade or more. You can Others shared personal stories of parents, coworkers, and friends losing their jobs in their 50s or early 60s and never regaining comparable employment. One person recalled, "My parents got laid off in 2008/2009, my dad at 60 years old. That was his last real job. 401(k) slaughter as a bonus. And most importantly, his mental health fell off a cliff." Health And Life Expectancy Concerns The life expectancy in the U.S. hovers around 75 to 78, commenters noted, making the suggestion impractical. "Add a decade of peak earning to work until 75 when the average life expectancy in the US is 78. Never mind that another decade of working likely reduces your life expectancy. No thanks," one wrote. Dozens of replies told of people dying shortly before or soon after retiring. "A coworker retired on a Friday. Died on Sunday," one person shared. Another added, "My mom died a month before retirement." Trending: These five entrepreneurs are worth $223 billion – Physical Limits And Workplace Reality Commenters stressed that working longer is simply not physically possible for many. White-collar workers face discrimination past 50, and blue-collar workers often experience serious physical strain by their late 40s. One self-described emergency room nurse said they had 'maybe 20 good years left' before their body gave out. Several rejected the claim that 65 to 75 could be peak earning years. As one person put it, "65-75 are not my peak earning years." Another called the article "corporate shill" propaganda. Frustration With The Bigger Picture Some saw the proposal as part of a broader push to delay benefit payouts. "They want people to die before they start having to pay out their benefits," a commenter claimed. Others pointed to how working longer would block younger generations from advancing. "If we all work 10 years longer, that's 10 years that the younger generations can't move up because we're occupying those positions," one noted.A few even dismissed the entire debate as irrelevant. "Society will probably collapse before any millennial makes it to 75," one person wrote, echoing a sentiment that the world's current challenges make long-term retirement planning feel almost absurd. Many turned to gallows humor, with one person summarizing retirement at 75 as simply, " code for work till you die." Another wrote, "I am planning on dying much sooner, it's way cheaper." Some discussed lowering expectations entirely. One commenter said their retirement plan was, "dying in the climate wars." For most in the thread, however, the idea of working until 75 was more than just unrealistic; it was a grim reminder of the uncertain future ahead.
