The trailer for '

' has finally dropped and it delivers everything fans of cutthroat reality TV could ask for: suspicion, sabotage, and a cast bursting with unpredictable personalities. Set in a palatial estate, the show is hosted by none other than
Karan Johar
, who brings his signature flair and sass to this high-stakes mind game. In this psychological battleground, 20 contestants including names like
Karan Kundrra
,
Uorfi Javed
,
Raftaar
, and Maheep Kapoor, must navigate daily challenges while evading elimination and surviving nightly betrayals by hidden traitors.

The trailer kicks off with dramatic visuals and ominous narration as Karan Johar declares this isn't just a game, it's psychological warfare. From tense dinner table confrontations to whispered suspicions and dramatic exits, every second of the teaser screams chaos. With contestants visibly shaken and alliances shifting rapidly, it's clear this isn't your average reality show. The concept, adapted from the global hit, brings a new flavor to Indian audiences: a murder mystery-style game where trust is a trap.

After Alia Bhatt, Trisha Krishnan wants to work with Fahadh Faasil: ‘No matter what…'

Fahadh Faasil is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after actors in Indian cinema, and now it seems Trisha Krishnan wants to work with the actor as well. In a recent appearance for Thug Life promotions, the actress talked about the actor and considers Aavesham to be her favorite film in recent times. In her words, when asked about which Malayalam actor she would like to work with, the actress said, 'Without any doubt, I would say Fahadh Faasil. My wish is to act alongside him. It doesn't matter what kind of genre the film would be, he would do an exceptional work.' 'Aavesham is one of my favorite films, and no matter what kind of genre, I would like to work with him,' the Leo actress added. Interestingly, in recent times, Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt had also made a similar statement during her Cannes appearance. Talking about the immense talents in Indian cinema, the Jigraa actress said, 'Fahadh Faasil is an actor I truly admire. He is an exceptional performer. Aavesham is one of my favorite movies, and I would definitely be interested in working with him someday.' Moreover, the actress also credited herself for being fortunate enough to work with Roshan Mathew in Darlings. The actress highlighted how he is a brilliant actor and, after making strides in Malayalam cinema, he is making waves in Hindi as well. Coming to Trisha Krishnan 's work front, the actress is soon set to appear in the lead role for the movie Thug Life, directed by Mani Ratnam. The gangster actioner with Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan TR in leading roles features the tale of Rangaraya Sakthivel Naicker, a Yakuza-like gangster who once adopted a young kid called Amaran from Mumbai. Raising him as his own, Sakthivel is presumed dead by many, with suspicions leading to his foster son. Now, returning from his grave with vengeance in his mind, the movie develops into a battle of death between them. Aside from the mentioned actors, the movie has Joju George, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Abhirami, Ashok Selvan, and more in key roles. On the other hand, Fahadh Faasil has recently wrapped up the shoot for his movie Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira, a comedy entertainer with director Althaf Salim. The actor also has films like Maareesan and Mammootty-led multistarrer tentatively titled, MMMN, in the lineup.

A lonely footballer breathes life into clay

News of cross-cultural exchanges and transnational cooperation in the arts have become oxygen for my determined optimism in an increasingly divided world. The Oscars earlier this year delivered tankfuls of hope with the Iranian auteur-in-exile Mohammad Rasoulof's Farsi film, The Seed of the Sacred Fig (Daane-ye anjeer-e ma'abed), in the fray as Germany's entry in the Best International Feature race, while Britain entered a Hindi language production - British Indian director Sandhya Suri's Santosh - in that category. Both were premiered last summer at the Cannes Film Festival, an event that routinely throws up instances of blurring borders. One such heartening collaboration at the just-concluded Cannes 2025 bears a stamp of India. A Doll Made Up of Clay - part of the official selection for the students' competition at the fest - is written and directed by Kokob Gebrehaweria Tesfay, an Ethiopian student of Kolkata's Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), and recipient of the ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations) African Scholarship. Produced by a fellow student, Sahil Manoj Ingle, this 23-min short features a multiracial, multinational team, including a Bangladeshi editor, Mahmud Abu Naser. It blends Yoruba and Bengali dialogues, and is about a Nigerian footballer in Kolkata, played by Ibrahim Ahmed -- a Nigerian footballer in Kolkata. It is, as Kokob told me in an interview on the eve of his Cannes premiere, 'a collective effort' and a truly international creation. In the film, Ibrahim plays Oluwaseyi, a youngster stranded in India after an injury stalled his dream of building a career in football. Battling loneliness, depression, financial deprivation and racism, Oluwaseyi finds solace in the arms of a woman (played by Geeta Doshi), who is haunted by her past. Kokob, grandson of a priest from the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, brings his awareness of Christian imagery and African folklore to the film, in addition to his observations of Hindu iconography. Oluwaseyi is Christian. A painting of Jesus' mother, Mary, is given prominence, while the rosary is a constant presence. In his desperation to repair mind and body, Oluwaseyi turns to a healing tradition from his homeland, amalgamating it with a belief articulated by an elderly local who sculpts Durga idols - the common factor in both is faith in the power and divinity of clay. Indian filmmakers have often been guilty of stereotyping and exoticising people of Africa, on rare occasions when they have been represented on screen here. Sudani from Nigeria, a 2018 Malayalam hit directed by Zakariya Mohammed, is an uncommon example of Indian cinema featuring an important African character portrayed with empathy. That film was charming, but it steered clear of the racism prevalent in India. In A Doll Made Up of Clay, Kokob boldly addresses this truth despite his fondness for Kolkata, which he now calls 'my second home', and India, which he describes as 'the home of cinema'. He is conscious of the difference between his own experience of the country, as a light-complexioned African, in contrast with Ibrahim, whose black skin and Muslim name have made him the target of prejudice. His film, Kokob said, 'is 80% Ibrahim's story, and 20% fiction'. The overlap between the pain of an actual person and a scripted version of him is mirrored by cinematographer Vinod Kumar's frames capturing a desolate, muddied Kolkata, and the poignance conveyed by sound designer Soham Pal, along with music composer Himangshu Saikia. The film urges us to introspect, even while being a cause for celebration since it showcases SRFTI's - and India's - laudable effort to nurture and partner with global talent. 'At this time full of conflict,' Kokob told me, 'it's an awesome feeling that as people from four different countries, we have come together for art. The world is going through a hard time, but we have become one for cinema.' (Disclaimer: The opinions expressed in this column are that of the writer. PS5 Pro patch for Silent Hill 2 to boost performance is under active development; developers confirm

Image credit: Konami Silent Hill 2 remake developers Bloober Team have officially confirmed that a patch for the PlayStation 5 Pro version of the game is currently under active development. The primary goal of this patch will be to boost the game's performance on Sony 's enhanced console. This confirmation comes as welcome news to players who have experienced and reported technical issues with the horror title since its launch on the PS5 Pro. Despite a previous patch released last year and an earlier one addressing graphical glitches shortly after the console's debut, some performance problems have persisted, leading to concerns within the player community. Fans on social media and forums like Reddit had begun to speculate whether further improvements were still planned. However, the Polish developer has now confirmed that efforts to optimise and enhance the Silent Hill 2 experience on the PS5 Pro are indeed ongoing. Owners of the PS5 Pro can now expect further enhancements aimed at delivering a smoother and more technically sound playthrough of the highly anticipated remake. As the fix remains pending, knowing work is underway provides some reassurance. Updates will be shared as they become available, the developer has confirmed. In its technical assessment of the PS5 Pro version of Silent Hill 2, Digital Foundry noted that it suffers from "glaring image stability issues not found on the standard PlayStation 5" and a "troubled PSSR upscaling implementation." One player at launch complained: 'It's really scummy to advertise a game as Pro Enhanced when it actually plays worse than the base unit.' Despite these performance criticisms, the game itself was well-received by critics. It also managed to sell a million copies in under a week. AI Masterclass for Students.
