AP, Singapore eye deeper ties in green energy, data centres
During the meeting, held as part of his second-day visit to Singapore, Chandrababu Naidu highlighted Andhra Pradesh's significant initiatives in the green energy sector. He called for greater cooperation from Singaporean firms in projects related to green hydrogen, transmission corridors, and port development. The Chief Minister also emphasised the need for Singapore's participation in establishing data centres and elaborated on the state's rapid expansion of its port infrastructure.
Recognising Singapore's global strength in logistics, Chief Minister Naidu sought its support in implementing best practices across Andhra Pradesh's ports and logistics sectors.
He also underscored the importance of Singapore's involvement in human resources, science and technology, and trade collaboration.
Addressing concerns faced by Singaporean companies during the previous administration, the Chief Minister assured Minister Tan that measures are being taken to resolve those issues, emphasising that his visit reflects a commitment to transparency and rectification. He affirmed that his government is investment-friendly and deeply values its relationship with Singapore.
Recalling past successful collaborations, Chandrababu Naidu cited the development of Singapore Township in Hyderabad during his earlier tenure as a symbol of admiration for Singapore's planning and efficiency. He also noted that Hyderabad once adopted nighttime street-cleaning practices inspired by observations in Singapore.
To further solidify the partnership, the Chief Minister extended a formal invitation to Minister Tan to attend the upcoming Global Investors Summit scheduled for November in Visakhapatnam.
In response, Minister Tan See Leng expressed Singapore's keen interest in working with Andhra Pradesh in the fields of housing and subsea cables, affirming that both sides could jointly pursue initiatives in these areas. The Minister also mentioned Singapore's ongoing collaboration with the World Bank on green energy and housing-related programmes.
Reminiscing about his previous visit to Hyderabad and his earlier meeting with Chandrababu Naidu, minister Tan expressed optimism about deepening bilateral cooperation.
The meeting was attended by Andhra Pradesh Ministers Nara Lokesh, P. Narayana, and TG Bharat along with senior officials from the State government.

The trip proved instrumental in reigniting interest among international industrial giants to set up operations in the state. The new industrial policies introduced by Naidu's government are already instilling confidence in investors, both domestic and foreign. It is truly inspiring to witness the remarkable similarities between Lee Kuan Yew, the founding father and visionary architect of modern Singapore, and N. Chandrababu Naidu, who has been rebuilding Andhra Pradesh from the ground after the state's painful bifurcation. Both leaders have demonstrated visionary thinking, indomitable will, and relentless drive to steer their respective regions toward prosperity defying all odds. During Naidu's recent visit to Singapore for the World Cities Summit, several Singaporean dignitaries, including then Finance Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam, drew striking parallels between the leadership styles of Lee Kuan Yew and Naidu. Lee Kuan Yew transformed Singapore from a struggling third-world country into a first-world economic powerhouse within a few decades. Likewise, Naidu has taken on the herculean task of rebuilding the residual Andhra Pradesh, which was left bleeding after bifurcation, and is now steadily propelling toward becoming a leading state in India. The visionary governance, innovative reforms, and futuristic planning under Naidu's leadership during 2014–2019 were widely admired. The people of Singapore were already aware of his transformative governance. Both Lee and Naidu are known for setting ambitious goals and pursuing them with strategic acumen. Their perseverance and purpose-driven governance saved their respective regions from decline and enabled them to thrive. Naidu's four-day visit to Singapore, focused on attracting investments to Andhra Pradesh, which is testament to his proactive approach. Upon arrival, Telugu families in Singapore welcomed him and Minister Nara Lokesh with traditional fervour and treated them to classical Kuchipudi and kolatam renditions. Around 2,500 members of the Telugu diaspora gathered to meet the Chief Minister, who graciously interacted with every individual and posed for photographs for posterity. Naidu and Lokesh held back-to-back meetings with representatives of various global organizations, explaining the state's positive investment climate and inviting them to become stakeholders in the State's development. As part of an overwhelming 26 official engagements, they visited several key projects and studied the best practices for implementation back home. The Indian High Commissioner to Singapore, Shilpak Ambule, extended full support to the delegation. Notably, the Chief Minister engaged in critical discussions with leaders of major companies such as Temasek Holdings, CapitaLand Investment (India), Mandai Wildlife Group, and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation. These conversations centred on industrial development, port-led infrastructure and logistics. Naidu presented Andhra Pradesh's economic potential through a detailed PP presentation highlighting the state's resources, strategic location, and pro-industry policies. As a result of Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government's chaotic and investor-unfriendly policies, Andhra Pradesh's brand image had taken a severe beating. Naidu and Lokesh's tireless efforts during this visit were specifically aimed at restoring confidence among global investors. With a growth target of over 15 per cent, the State's focus on ease of doing business and proactive governance is expected to trigger a fresh wave of industrialisation. The state government is working toward creating 20 lakh jobs within five years, fulfilling its electoral promise and laying golden paths for the youth. The Chief Minister also laid out region-specific industrial and trade development plans and emphasised the strategic importance of Andhra Pradesh's vast 974-km coastline. Six ports are operational, and four more are in the pipeline. Integrated development plans involving road, rail, and inland water transport are being pursued to foster port-based industries. Naidu assured the CEOs and investors he met that the government would provide all necessary infrastructure. 'Now is the right time to invest in Andhra Pradesh,' he reiterated. His vision is to transform Andhra Pradesh into a logistics hub along the East Coast, leveraging its long coastline and deep-water ports. Naidu's efforts to restore the state's credibility, rekindle ties with Singapore, and chart a new course for Andhra Pradesh's economic revival are commendable. As the state gears up to host the Partnership Summit 2025 in Visakhapatnam on November 14–15, the focus will be on reimagining the state's industrial landscape. The entire nation is now watching Andhra Pradesh with renewed interest. After five years of stagnation, the state is poised to rise again Phoenix-like. The government is exploring every possible avenue to ensure financial empowerment and economic resurgence. Indeed, it is a matter of great pride that a visionary like Chandrababu Naidu is drawing comparisons with none other than Lee Kuan Yew. Both leaders—through their foresight, discipline, and determination—have proven how transformational leadership can change and rewrite a region's destiny. Naidu launches Annadatha Sukhibhava
Darsi: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu launched the PM Kisan-Annadatha Sukhibhava scheme, part of the Super Six welfare initiatives, in a symbolic ceremony held amidst verdant fields in East Veerayapalem village of Darsi mandal in Prakasam district on Saturday. Launching the Rs 3,175 crore statewide initiative, the Chief Minister handed over a cheque to two farmers as a symbolic gesture and another Rs 29 crore cheque specific to Darsi constituency, according to a video link shared by the government. "No other thing gives me this much happiness. Sitting in a field under the sun we transferred Rs 7,000, including central funds. This is history," said Naidu, addressing farmers in the middle of a field. After the conclusion of the live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech from Varanasi at the launch of the PM Kisan programme at the national level, Chandrababu Naidu interacted with farmers, women, youth, and locals at the launch of Annadatha Sukhibhava-PM Kisan programme. He mentioned that the scheme marked the fulfillment of the coalition government's election promise to provide Rs 20,000 annually to farmers in three installments. Clubbing the Centre's contribution of Rs 6,000 under PM-Kisan and the state's contribution of Rs 14,000, Andhra Pradesh aims to disburse Rs 20,000 per annum to eligible farmers under the Annadatha Sukhibhava-PM Kisan scheme in three installments. The Chief Minister said that in the first phase, Rs 7,000 was being transferred to the bank accounts of 46,85,838 farmers across the state. He explained that the benefit includes Rs 5,000 as the state's contribution and Rs 2,000 from the central government under the PM Kisan scheme. He said that the total outlay for this phase amounted to Rs 3,175 crore, with the state government allocating Rs 2,343 crores and the Centre contributing Rs 832 crore. For Prakasam district alone, Rs 186 crore had been earmarked, benefiting 2,65,317 farmers, while the Darsi Assembly constituency would receive Rs 29 crore towards 42,786 beneficiary farmers, with Darsi mandal getting Rs 7.36 crore towards 10,972 farmers. Chandrababu Naidu observed that he could see pervasive happiness among farmers and remarked: 'The farmer is always a king.' The Chief Minister announced plans to provide technological knowledge to farmers, including crop advisory services based on scientific studies. Soon, farmers could access scheme-related information through the Annadatha Sukhibhava portal or by calling the toll-free number 155251. Chandrababu Naidu highlighted significant achievements in agricultural modernization, while appreciating that Andhra Pradesh ranked first nationally in drip irrigation coverage. He amplified that the government had expanded drip irrigation to 1,17,880 hectares, benefiting 1.11 lakh farmers with subsidies ranging from 70 per cent to 100 per cent, based on region and caste categories. The Chief Minister told farmers that the government had introduced 875 Kisan drones for agricultural services and had plans to procure an additional 1,000 drones. He explained to them that market interventions had ensured remunerative prices for various crops, with the government paying Rs 273 crore for tobacco, Rs 172 crore for mango farmers, while fixing Rs 11,781 per quintal as the minimum selling price for chillies. Referring to the sudden spike in American taxes on Indian merchandise, Naidu said these duties would hurt aquaculture farmers and promised to chart out an action plan on how to deal with this matter after meeting with aquaculture representatives in a few days. Stating that the US had hiked duties by 25 per cent, Naidu said this would affect Indian farmers. Considering these factors, the CM said, he would guide farmers on what crop to plant and how to go further.
