Cardinals training camp: Marvin Harrison Jr. sits out Thursday practice with knee injury
The Arizona Cardinals, after a day off of training camp on Wednesday, returned to State Farm Stadium on Thursday for a non-padded practice before planning on practicing in pads both on Friday and Saturday. Three players were announced out for practice by head coach Jonathan Gannon, one which will cause headlines.
Wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., who has been having a dominant camp, did not practice.
Gannon said Harrison was dealing with "a little soreness" in his knee, so the team simply is "going to be smart with him," something Gannon says regularly in offseason work and training camp.
Gannon added that Harrison is "fine" and considers him "day-to-day."
We will see if he returns to the field Friday or Saturday.
Two offensive linemen were also out. Undrafted rookie tackle Valentin Senn sat out with neck soreness, and Gannon said they were doing testing. The other player out was offensive lineman Jake Curhan. Gannon was not asked about what his injury was.
In other injury news, linebacker J.J. Russell, who has been in the concussion protocol since a serious collision last Thursday, was back on the field for practice but in the yellow no-contact jersey. He is a step closer to being cleared.
The Cardinals have practice on Friday from 1:50-3:15 p.m. at State Farm Stadium, and then the Red & White practice will be Saturday from 1:15-3:15 p.m.

He has not touched 86 mph this year, but his slingshot, underhand delivery has been difficult for hitters to pick up and apparently sustainable: Since 2020, Rogers leads the majors (and not by a little) in games pitched and has never hit the injured list. Rogers himself was not sure if the windup helped him stay healthy, but if so, it would be 'awesome.' Sha'Carri Richardson runs SB, but HBCU star wins race
Sha'Carri Richardson ran a season's best in the USATF 100m on Friday - but a former HBCU star outshined her in the White, a national champion at North Carolina A&T, ran a personal-best 10.89 to win her heat. She topped Sha'Carri Richardson's time of 11.07 in the process. Kayla White dominates at HBCU For her career, White won 17 MEAC indoor and outdoor sprint and hurdle titles at HBCU track factory North Carolina A&T from 2016 to Miami, Florida native secured her first career win at the 2016 MEAC Indoor Championships. She claimed the 60-meter hurdles title in 8.39 seconds. That spring, she followed up with an outdoor title in the 100-meter hurdles and added a win in the 4×100 relay. Eventually, White won the MEAC 60-meter hurdles and the 100-meter hurdles titles in each of her four years with the Aggies. In total, she added MEAC 4×100 relay titles in 2017, 2018, and 2019. She also swept the 100 and 200-meter titles during her junior and senior seasons. At the 2019 NCAA Indoor Championships, she finished second in the 60-meter hurdles. She also placed second in the NCAA Outdoor 100-meter final. White vs. Richardson: A Rivalry in the Making White has faced Sha'Carri Richardson multiple times as a pro. She defeated the Olympic gold medalist in the 200 meters at the inaugural Botswana Grand Prix on April 29, 2023. Top 2027 Pennsylvania offensive tackle Terrance Smith lists Notre Dame in top group

The top Class of 2027 Pennsylvania offensive tackle from Lansdale Catholic (Lansdale, PA) announced his finalists on X (formerly Twitter), and the Fighting Irish remain in the mix. Marcus Freeman and his staff may have a tough time landing a pledge from the 6-foot-6, 260-pounder, though, as Penn State has made him a priority target in its 2027 class. Smith picked up an offer from the Nittany Lions in early April and traveled to State College for the annual Blue-White spring game later in the month. He then attended PSU's annual Lasch Bash recruiting barbecue at the end of June. Joining Notre Dame and Penn State in Smith's top 12 are Ohio State, Missouri, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, Kentucky, Rutgers, Oregon, NC State and Syracuse.
