$260 million man does as much as allowed as OTAs pull curtain back on 2025 Cowboys
Fans of the Dallas Cowboys can breath a sigh of relief. Looking to erase all memories from a disappointing 2024, the club has systematically changed the constitution of America's Team this offseason. WIth a new head coach and offensive system, and a new defensive coordinator as well, things will look much different in 2025. But to completely erase the stain of 2024, the team will need a healthy quarterback leading the way.
On Tuesday, the second day of the Cowboys' first OTA session, it seems that will be the case. Dak Prescott, out of action since Week 9 after suffering a severe hamstring injury, was a full go for the non-contact session. Teams are allowed to run 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills in the Organized Team Activities phase of the offseason, but they aren't allowed to hit.

Prescott was witnessed by the media going as hard as he could, and then spoke of his only remaining limitation after practice was over.
'Pretty much can do it all,' Prescott said via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. 'Feel good. I think I'm just not cleared for contact, which we've got a while for that anyways. I'm out there in the team activities, feel good, just trying to stay that way.'
Prescott was having a down season before the injury occurred, so not only is he trying to recover from the bad wheel, he also has some performance issues he's looking to correct. After leading the NFL in completions and passing touchdowns in 2023, he was far from the guy who earned the league's largest contract prior to the 2024 regular season opener.
Now getting ready to play the first new season of his four-year, $260 million extension, Prescott is now the offense's resident old man after the retirement of Zack Martin in the offseason. Prescott is entering his 10th season, all as a starter since being drafted in 2016.

Steelers reply to fans angered by players' Trump rally appearance
Steelers reply to fans angered by players' Trump rally appearance Show Caption Hide Caption Cowboys land star wideout George Pickens The Pittsburgh Steelers traded star wide receiver George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys for a 2026 third-round pick. Sports Seriously Should the Pittsburgh Steelers "shut up and..." huddle? Quarterback Mason Rudolph, special teamer Miles Killebrew and former Steelers running back Rocky Bleier did not heed Fox News host Laura Ingraham's advice when they all appeared on stage at President Donald Trump's rally just outside of Pittsburgh last Friday. The decision by the two active players and a team alum to make appearances at the president's weekend rally – where they presented him with a Steelers No. 47 jersey featuring Trump's name on the back – angered many Steelers fans and season-ticket holders. The backlash from fans was significant enough to prompt an official response from the team. AARON RODGERS: Veteran QB 'has not affirmatively' told the Steelers he's signing Pittsburgh sent a formal letter to those fans in the form of an email on Monday, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. It read: "We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us. As valued fans, your voice is an essential part of what makes our Steelers community and fan base so strong. "We understand that a recent rally in Pittsburgh has generated a range of reactions from our fan base. Our alumni and current players make their own individual decisions that reflect their views, and they do not necessarily represent the view of the entire Pittsburgh Steelers organization. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts. We appreciate your passion and your continued support of the team." It is not the first time that former Steelers players have been outspoken about their support for the president. Former Pittsburgh wide receiver Antonio Brown and his former teammate, running back Le'Veon Bell, appeared at another Trump rally outside of Pittsburgh in October, weeks before Election Day. In contrast, the Rooney family, the Steelers' team owners, have long been supporters of the Democratic Party. Current Steelers principal owner Art Rooney II's father, Dan, served as the U.S. Ambassador to Ireland from 2009 to 2012, having been appointed by President Barack Obama.

Steelers banking on offensive line investment paying off
PITTSBURGH, Pa. (BLACK AND GOLD NATION) – Pittsburgh has selected five offensive linemen in Omar Khan's first two drafts as general manager. The Steelers are now hoping that investment will pay off in 2025. 'All the teams that end up winning on Sundays usually starts up front,' Steelers offensive tackle Troy Fautanu said. 'Chiseled' Cole Holcomb ready to make impact in return from injury In 2023 and 2024, tackles Broderick Jones and Fautanu were first-round picks in back-to-back drafts. Khan doubled down on adding to the unit in the 2024 NFL draft with second-round center Zach Frazier and fourth-round guard Mason McCormick. 'It's super awesome because we all have that same goal (to win), we all have the same mindset coming to work every single day,' Fautanu said. '(Our work is) going to pay dividends on Sundays once we finally are able to go out there and put it all together.' This is expected to be the year for the entire core to put it all together. Veteran offensive guard Isaac Seumalo may not be vocal, but his consistent play and steadiness do all the talking that he needs to lead the young group. Frazier's strong rookie season gives plenty of confidence that he's the center the Steelers have needed since Maurkice Pouncey retired. 'He doesn't seem like a guy going into his second year. He seems like a mature guy and mature veteran already,' Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph said. 'You could just see as the year went on, his confidence grew and he's (comfortable) out there running the show,' Fautanu said. McCormick, who started 14 games in his rookie campaign, showed plenty of promise as well and should grow heading into his second year. Meanwhile, Fautanu is ready to step up after missing nearly the entirety of his rookie season with a knee injury. '(My rehab) was a long process, but something that I'm getting used to now, it's just a part of who I am and the player that I have to be,' Fautanu said. 'I'm just super excited to finally be back out here and be with the guys.' After playing his first two seasons at right tackle, Jones is finally moving back to his natural position at left tackle with the departure of Dan Moore Jr. 'He looks good,' Fautanu said. 'We're all excited to be at the spots that we are.' 'Broderick is an athletic guy,' Rudolph said. 'Talking to him, he seems more comfortable there on the left, and he's done a great job.' Cowboys offense ready Dak Prescott MVP 2025 case
Cowboys offense ready Dak Prescott MVP 2025 case originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Louis Riddick isn't wrong. When the well-known scouting mind says that a lot does have to go right for a quarterback to win MVP. … and then suggests those things won't happen for the 2025 Dallas Cowboys? Advertisement We get it. Riddick, speaking specifically about Prescott's 2025 chances, noted that George Pickens averages over 16 yards per catch, CeeDee Lamb is 'fantastic,' but still, there's 'just a lot that has to go right for them to have a winning season.' Fair. But the part Riddick left out is the most important one: when Dak Prescott is healthy, things usually do go right. In 2023, the last time Prescott played a full season, he finished as the league's MVP runner-up. That version of the Cowboys offense was held together by smoke and CeeDee Lamb — with a less than ideal run game and a limited arsenal of weaponry around him. That won't be the case in 2025 on at least one of those fronts, but likely both. Advertisement Now, he has George Pickens opposite Lamb, an improved offensive line with Tyler Guyton in year two and another first-round rookie, Tyler Booker added to the mix. The interior of the Cowboys offensive line all of a sudden looks like a strength again. Then on top of that, a restructured run game that's designed to actually give defenses something to worry about will take heat off the QB. Dak said it best. 'It's really hard to double-team two guys,' he noted in review of his planned 2025 weapons. And it's even harder to double team two guys, stop the run, and outsmart a quarterback who's seen every coverage the league has to offer. Advertisement Prescott's MVP window moving forward will now be built on balance and offensive multiplicity, unlike years past. When you pair that with elite pre-snap command, don't be surprised if 2025 looks a lot like 2023 ... just slightly more physical. And if Dallas as a team wins enough games? The team's centerpiece will again be in the MVP conversation.
