Jamie Foxx Finally Responds To The Conspiracy Theory That Diddy Caused His 2023 Health Scare
Sean 'Diddy' Combs is currently on trial in New York City and may be found guilty of numerous crimes, but one thing he's not guilty of is an attempt on Jamie Foxx's life.
In 2023, Foxx experienced a 'medical emergency' the details of which were at first concealed from the public. As time went on that summer, Foxx's hospitalization and stint in rehab without explanation led to numerous conspiracy theories among his fans. One of those theories is that Diddy had something to do with his mysterious health issue.
Foxx ultimately explained what happened when he collapsed on the set of Back In Action , a Netflix movie he was filming at the time in Atlanta. In his Netflix standup comedy show, What Had Happened Was, he said that he woke up in the hospital days later. And he says that had his sister not quickly intervened and an Atlanta doctor rushed him into surgery, he would have died.
In a comedian's roundtable with The Hollywood Reporter, with Seth Meyers, Hasan Minhaj, Sarah Silverman, Chelsea Handler and Roy Wood, he talks about the numerous drugs he was prescribed in the hospital. After sneaking into his phone for a connection to the outside world, Foxx found out the world thought he'd been cloned and that Diddy tried to kill him.
'Yeah, it was, 'This is for your pain, and this is so you don't remember it.' So, they Men in Black -ed me, and I'm f-cked up, and this isn't funny, but I snuck in my phone because I didn't know what the outside world was saying, and I couldn't get my mind around the fact that I had a stroke. I'm in f-cking perfect shape. [I see things like,] 'Puffy tried to kill me.' No, Puffy didn't try to kill me.'
Diddy and his parties were once so significant in entertainment circles that many celebs have been photographed with him and/or attended one of his bashes, including his famous white parties. However, Foxx, who is known for his own lavish events, said that he always left Diddy's parties early. He joked about it in his Netflix special.
'The internet said Puffy was trying to kill me, that's what the internet was saying,' Foxx said at the show, which was taped in Atlanta in 2024. 'I know what you thinking, 'Diddy?' Hell no, I left them parties early.'
Fox has fully recovered from what he described as a brain bleed that led to a stroke. Swift action by an Atlanta doctor he thanks in the special saved his life, as did his sister's instinct that led her to take him to the right place.
After his role as a producer for the Apple TV+ series, Number One On The Call Sheet, a two-part documentary marking the ascension of Black actors and actresses released in March, Foxx is starring in Tin Soldier with Robert DeNiro and Scott Eastwood and All-Star Weekend with Gerard Butler and Robert Downey Jr. Both are expected to be released this year.

‘Severance' Season 3 Is Coming, but Ben Stiller Won't Be Directing
When audiences return to Lumon Industries sometime in the near future, it will be without a major component. Ben Stiller, one of the producers and directors of the hit Apple TV+ show Severance, will not be directing any episodes in season three. 'I'm at the point in my life where I'm like, 'The clock is ticking,'' Stiller told the Los Angeles Times. He's currently getting ready to star in Focker-In-Law, the latest Meet the Parents movie, and is prepping his next feature film, a World War II survival film that tells 'the true story of a downed airman in occupied France and how he got involved with the French Resistance.' Because of those two things, he's decided there won't be time to direct any of season three. 'These things take time to come together,' Stiller said, 'and the older you get, the more you realize that you only have so much time.' But that's not to say he won't be involved. Stiller, showrunner Dan Erickson, and the Severance writers 'have been spending much of the year planning season three so that Stiller can step away and direct this feature film,' according to the paper. Also, this does suggest that filming on season three will be happening sooner rather than later, which is a good thing. So the season will have Stiller's fingerprints on it. He's still a producer. Just not a director. However, that's a bigger deal than you may realize. Stiller's direction is a key part of what makes Severance 'Severance.' He directed six of season one's nine episodes—the first three and the last three—and then did half of season two's 10 episodes, including the finale and the memorable 'Woe's Hollow.' What season two did even more than season one, though, was showcase incredibly talented new directors who are surely going to step in and fill Stiller's shoes. Key among those would be Jessica Lee Gagné, the cinematographer turned director who did season two's unforgettable, twisty-turny 'Chikhai Bardo.' We're only speculating that she'd return, but come on. She'd better. No one has done close to as many episodes as Stiller, of course, but others have done multiples. Sam Donovan and Uta Briesewitz each did two episodes of season two, and Aoife McArdle did the three episodes of season one that Stiller didn't. So, clearly, Stiller is leaving the show in very capable hands and has made his mark on what's being written and prepped. He just won't be on set. Helen Mirren is a 'feminist' but insists James Bond 'has to be a guy'
Sorry, ladies, there's one job Helen Mirren thinks you needn't fill. The renowned British actress revealed in a recent interview that she doesn't think a woman could play James Bond. The fictional spy, who has been played over decades by a rotating cast of A-listers including Daniel Craig and Pierce Brosnan, has yet to be embodied by a woman. Mirren, 80, thinks that's as it should be, telling Saga Magazine, in an interview published Aug. 18, that "James Bond has to be a guy." Mirren, who is herself playing a detective in the upcoming film "Thursday Murder Club" (in theaters Aug. 28), was interviewed alongside Brosnan, who also appears in the movie. Daniel Craig got a 007 sendoff like no other. How Sean Connery, Roger Moore said goodbye to Bond "I'm such a feminist, but James Bond has to be a guy. You can't have a woman. It just doesn't work," she said. "James Bond has to be James Bond, otherwise it becomes something else." Mirren did add that her latest character, a retired spy named Elizabeth, was a true representation of women who populated the world of espionage. "So many women have worked in that world. She's a manifestation of a reality, that's for sure," she told the outlet, adding that her portrayal is probably more true to life than the theatrics of 007. "More realistic. But not so much fun as Bond!" she quipped. This is not Mirren's first time wading into the Bond world. In a March interview with the Standard, the actress urged the writing of more movies about real-life women spies in place of a female 007. Mirren's comments come amid questions of who will play Bond next after Craig retired from the role in 2021's "No Time to Die." In the past, Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has ruled out the possibility of a woman succeeding Craig in the role. But in February, Broccoli and her producing partner Michael G.
