Real Madrid vs Arsenal LIVE!
Arsenal return to Women's Champions League action tonight as they contest the first leg of their huge quarter-final showdown with Real Madrid at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano. The Gunners travel to Spain looking to continue their European charge having qualified for the group stages and then lost just one game en route to topping a table that also contained Bayern Munich and Juventus. A 5-2 defeat by Bayern contributed to the exit of previous head coach Jonas Eidevall, but successor Renee Slegers subsequently steadied the ship and led an impressive recovery effort.
However, Arsenal currently trail leaders Chelsea by eight points in the WSL title race, while they were recently upset by Liverpool in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup having also been ousted from the League Cup semis by Manchester City. The opportunity for silverware is running out and there will now be extra focus on their Champions League campaign as they hope to win the competition for the first time since 2007.
Real Madrid will also be keen on progressing further in Europe as they trail rivals Barcelona by a long way domestically, but were a distant second behind Chelsea in their group. Follow Real Madrid vs Arsenal live below!

Ben Jacobs reveals how much Chelsea will make after Nottingham Forest complete £37.5m transfer

Chelsea will make around £3.75m after Omari Hutchinson completed his move to Nottingham Forest according to journalist Ben Jacobs. Forest officially announced the signing on Saturday for a fee of £37.5m, and he returns to the Premier League having been relegated with Ipswich last season. Chelsea signed the 22-year-old on a free transfer from Arsenal in 2022, but sold Hutchinson to Ipswich for around £20m last summer. Chelsea to benefit from Forest signing Hutchinson Hutchinson barely featured for Chelsea and made just two appearances for the club, but the Blues made sure they included a sell on clause when he left. Chelsea are now set to benefit from that, and they are entitled to 25% of any profit made from the next sale of the England under-21 international. Hutchinson made just two appearances for Chelsea. It had been reported Chelsea were in line to receive to just over £4m, but Jacobs has now provided an update on the figure. He took to and said: 'Chelsea will make approximately £3.75m from Omari Hutchinson's move to Nottingham Forest due to a 25% sell-on.' Considering Hutchinson arrived on a free, and was sold for £20m, it's not bad business at all, and the Sporting directors deserve credit. It was reported earlier this week they had signed contract extensions keeping them at Stamford Bridge for the next six years, and there appears to be some level of stability both on and off the pitch. Chelsea have already moved a number of players on, but there are still several left who they need to find new clubs for. Arsenal vs. Manchester United: How to watch 2025-26 English Premier League opener

Manchester United will host Arsenal in the 2025-26 English Premier League opener at Old Trafford stadium on Sunday, Aug. 17. The Red Devils are optimistic that their summer signings have addressed the challenges they faced last season, which resulted in a disappointing 15th-place finish in the league – one of the worst in the storied club's history. During the summer transfer window, manager Ruben Amorim brought in several new players to reshape their starting 11, including Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, Matheus Cunha from Wolves, Diego Leon from Cerro Porteño, and Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig. Arsenal once again finished runner-up for a third consecutive season, and fans are excited to see if this will finally be their year. This summer, manager Mikel Arteta has been active in the transfer market, bringing in key players to strengthen the squad, including Swedish standout striker Viktor Gyökeres and former Real Sociedad midfielder Martín Zubimendi. These signings will help alleviate the impact of injuries sustained last year and refresh the lineup. Arsenal 24yo 'feels good' after ankle surgery

Jurrien Timber has declared himself fit and ready for the new season after undergoing ankle surgery at the end of last term, insisting he now 'feels good' as Mikel Arteta's side prepare for another title push. Photo via The Dutch defender, who has already overcome a serious cruciate knee injury that derailed his first season in England, admitted his latest setback was minor by comparison but still required intervention. 'I had an ankle operation at the end of last season to take something out that was bothering me, but I feel good now,' he said. Timber used the summer both to recover and to travel extensively, a rehabilitation period that included trips to Turkey, Curaçao, Miami, Marbella and Asia. He joked, 'I have seen the whole world in two months,' but revealed Arsenal sent a fitness trainer with him on parts of his journey to ensure his recovery stayed on track. 'I had more places to go, but the club said, 'That is too much!' At the beginning I was on crutches so I could not do much, but when I was off crutches I had someone with me.' Photo byHaving returned to full training, Timber is expected to resume the role that made him such a crucial part of the Premier League's tightest defence last season. Arsenal conceded only 34 goals in 38 matches, a record seven better than Liverpool, and Timber's versatility was a central factor. 'We know we were defending well and doing well as a unit but we were focusing on ourselves,' he said. 'We have a lot of good defenders and we defend with the whole team. The amount of defenders we have at the back, the competition is amazing and it makes each other better.' Now 24, Timber is entering his third season in England and has spoken openly about how Arteta's influence helped him through the long rehabilitation from his knee injury. 'With Arteta as our manager, the best times at Arsenal are coming. The culture he has created within this club, with his vision on football at the top level, is bringing Arsenal to new heights. Photo by'Arteta is a top coach. He really improves you as a player. In a short period I have learned so very much. He is pushing me massively to get the best out of myself as a person and as a player.' That bond was crucial when Timber faced months of isolation as he recovered from an ACL injury. 'During my entire rehab I felt so much support and trust from Arteta. At the start, in the later stages when I was making progress and had the chance to train with the squad again, and as my comeback was near, he was supporting me all the time. The trust and help made me feel confident to play again.' Arsenal's opening fixtures include meetings with Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City, a demanding start Timber welcomes. 'It is a tough beginning, isn't it? But I think last season we also had a tough start and it can go both ways. If you start well, it can be amazing. That is the challenge. But I think Arsenal have shown the last couple of years already that we will always be fighting for the title.'
