The soap star played Mason Radcliffe on the soap before his character was tragically killed off.
The actor's chances of picking up an award tonight was dashed when it was announced that EastEnders' special flashback episode about Phil Mitchell's Psychosis had won.
Those watching at home claimed Luca looked "furious" with the result.
One wrote: "The Mason actor didn't look too happy there."

"Oh no! Luca Toolan looked gutted," a second said.
While some fans said Luca was "robbed".
This person said: "Sorry but that award should have gone to Luca for the knife crime story for Mason."
A second posted: "Corrie robbed, should've won for that Mason storyline."

Another fumed: "Excuse my language but how the F*** did Mason's death not win anything? Diabolical results."
Coronation Street and Emmerdale humiliated at British Soap Awards as rival soap wins EIGHT gongs
Shocking scenes saw Mason attacked by his brothers and flee - but the thugs chased him down.
And when Dylan tried to intervene - bringing Mason's knife - it was taken from him and used to stab Mason.
He stumbled into the playground and hallucinated a future where he reunited with Betsy and planned for his new life in Germany.

But as the truth was revealed about Dylan's involvement, the reality was shown as Abi Webster found Mason bleeding out.
She screamed for an ambulance and tried to apply pressure to his wounds, desperate to save him.
Mason told her: 'I'm going to die, aren't I? I'm going to die.'
Abi said: 'You're not going to die. Mason, listen to me, an ambulance is on the way and you're not going to die.'

However the ambulance was distracted by a hoax call and delayed in getting to Mason so he was in a bad way by the time it arrived.
Rushed to hospital with a weeping Betsy and Abi with him, the doctors battled to save his life.
But sadly there was nothing they could do and Mason died in the hospital leaving Betsy devastated.
BBC rival EastEnders swept the board after collecting a total of eight gongs in its 40th anniversary year - more than double its nearest rival, Channel 4's Hollyoaks who got three awards.

EastEnders was awarded Best Soap after its huge live episode and anniversary week which saw Anita Dobson return as Angie Watts and Martin Fowler killed off in the arms of his love, Stacey.
It was certainly not the only award that they picked up with actress Lacey Turner receiving the trophy for Best Leading Performer ahead of her impending exit from the show.
The 40th anniversary also managed to clutch the Scene of the Year thanks to Angie's shock return.
Steve McFadden a won a trophy for Best Dramatic Performance as Phil Mitchell but did not attend the ceremony with Angela Wynter and Rudolph Walker also receiving prizes as Patrick and Yolande - beating Corrie fan favourites Lisa Swain and Carla Connor, affectionately known as Swarla, to the Best On-Screen Partnership award.

The Walford based soap also collected the Comedy Performance gongs and Villain of the Year.
In a major blow to Coronation Street, only David Neilson picked up the Outstanding Achievement Award as Roy Cropper which was presented to him by by his on-screen wife Julie Hesmondhalgh.

Strictly fix row as Dani Dyer bragged about being a 'qualified dancer' before joining this year's line-up

The Love Island star will compete for the coveted glitterball in the upcoming BBC series Dani Dyer once boasted she would put 'qualified dancer" under the list of qualifications on her CV - as she gets ready to waltz on to the upcoming series of Strictly. ‌ The Love Island star, 29, who is the early favourite to win the show, laid bare her experience on the dance floor, admitting she started training aged just two. It's set to call into question whether she has an unfair advantage over her fellow novice celebrities. ‌ Last year trained dancer Tasha Ghouri faced a backlash for her training, with some fans branding her inclusion a 'fix'. It comes as three more celebrities were named for this year's series, including model Ellie Goldstein. ‌ Writing in her 2019 book, Dani shared how she went to theatre school at weekends from two to 14 and it was there her talent for dancing emerged. 'It was called O'Farrell's Stage School and I was a really good little dancer,' she said. "I'm not a bad singer but it was the dance stuff I loved more - jazz, tap, ballet, modern. I'd get home and prance around the house.' Elsewhere in the book she writes up a mock CV and under qualifications states: 'Qualified dancer and pretty good at singing (especially Dua Lipa or Ariana Grande at the top of her voice while cleaning the kitchen).' Last year Strictly found itself caught up in a fix row after it signed Love Island's Tasha, 27, who had dance training. Actress Sarah Hadland and JLS' JB Gill were also accused of having a head start thanks to their experience. None of them went on to win the show, instead it was won by the first blind contestant Chris McCausland. Elsewhere in her book she said that she shared her dreams of one day appearing on the BBC show. She gushed: "If Strictly Come Dancing want to give me a call I'd also be happy to be whisked around the dance floor." ‌ Dani added at the time that "the only thing I'd be worried about would be the curse" as she was with Love Island co-star Jack Fincham at the time. She also revealed she will have an ally on this year's show as she bonded with judge Shirley Ballas on a trek for Comic Relief. She said she was "just the most graceful, lovely person". Dani's performing career got off to a tough start, she opens up in her bestselling book What Would Dani Do? My Guide to Living Your Best Life. Aged nine, she auditioned to be one of the dancers in the stage adaptation of Billy Elliot - and was rejected. ‌ But it was thanks to her dad Danny, 48, who has starred in films The Human Traffic and Football Factory as well as EastEnders and Rivals, who gave her her first break. "It was so nerve-wracking and when I didn't get the part I was beside myself,' she wrote. 'I cried all the way home. Mum bought me chunky chips and barbecue sauce to cheer me up, and I ate them with a plastic fork out of the container. ‌ "Neither she nor my dad wanted me going for auditions for a few years after that. Dad clearly saw something in me though, because a few years later he asked me to play a part in a film he was doing called Vendetta. "It was a bit random and out of the blue because I was at college (I studied musical theatre for a year but then dropped out) and he rang me up the day before filming to say that the actress who had been due to play the part had pulled out – she was meant to do a scene where she's dragged out of a car, but she'd found out she was pregnant so now didn't want to do it. "So, Dad said it was mine if I wanted it. 'Babe, I don't know if you fancy it but I've got this little role at the beginning of my film Vendetta?' Obviously, I did!' ‌ Dani then went on to win Love Island in 2018 with Jack Fincham. They split six months later. In May Dani married West Ham footballer Jarrod Bowen, 28, in a lavish ceremony. The pair have twins Summer and Sky, two. Dani has son Santiago, four, from a previous relationship. Dani is the 4/1 favourite to lift the Glitterball Trophy of the nine celebrities to be announced. YouTuber George Clarke is the second-favourite at 6/1. Cal Gildart of Ladbrokes said: ' Dani Dyer is the current pick of this year's Strictly pack, but with contestants still to be announced, we could soon see someone waltz past her to the head of the betting.'

Clara, 41, said: 'The start of 2023, I was in the flipping trenches. 'I was burnt out, I wasn't taking care of myself properly and I think I was a bit overwhelmed by life's injustices. I just wasn't feeling great and I was in a bit of a negative headspace.' She continued: 'I was feeling really, really depressed sort of mid 2023 and I took some time off radio, and just had to have a little reset. That is when I decided I was going to leave my show.' In her interview with Fearne Cotton on the podcast, she also spoke about the pressure to 'get the next viral clip' while working on the show. Clara said: 'I had mixed reactions. Obviously are bosses, who are lovely, were like 'but why.' 'I'm one of these people where I am so passionate about what I do that I never want to resent anything, I don't want anything to feel like it's forced or a chore. 'And I want to be able to listen to music always as a fan, rather than as a business, and I want to be able to talk to people on a human level without thinking 'got to get that viral interview clip.'' Clara quit Radio 1 in 2023, and said at the time: "I'm so proud of the work I've been able to do on every show, whether it's been from the 8th floor, a city in the UK or a pop star's house across the pond. Masterchef in bizarre editing blunder as contestant nods to no-one after chef asked to be cut over Gregg Wallace scandal

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) THIS is the bizarre moment a Masterchef contestant nodded to an empty space in an awkward BBC edit - after a chef demanded to be removed from the show. The latest series of Masterchef was hit with controversy in the weeks leading up to its launch, with hosts Gregg Wallace and John Torode being axed from presenting future series. Tonight's episode - the fourth in its run - saw five amateur cooks enter the kitchen, rather than the usual six. But the usual long shot of the group outside walking towards the kitchen was missing, and instead, the edit featured close ups of their faces or in pairs. Once inside, John and Gregg explained how two cooks would automatically go through to the next round after cooking their first dish. Read More on Masterchef OFF AIR MasterChef in more chaos as it's replaced in schedules weeks into new series The two men in the competition - Sam and Trevor - made it through, leaving the three women - Hazel, Aileen and Marcella - to compete again. After cooking a second dish, the ladies returned to the room but the footage was cut abruptly after Hazel walked in behind Marcella and Aileen. As John revealed who the remaining two chefs to go through to the next round would be, the camera shots remained closely cropped into each of the three women, rather than the wider groups shots that usually feature at this stage in an episode. Marcella was chosen first, before John announced Hazel's name. However in a bizarre moment, Hazel - who was on one end of the line - looked to her left and gave a thankful nod before looking to her right and doing the same to Aileen, who was in the middle of the trio. But as far as viewers could see, there was no one on Hazel's left that she would need to acknowledge. BBC botches bid to edit out sacked duo Gregg Wallace & John Torode from new Masterchef amid calls to axe scandal-hit show As Aileen left the room, Hazel appeared to gesture with her arm to her left, before a big empty space next to Hazel was clearly visible, making her reaction even stranger. It was previously revealed that following John and Gregg's shock exits from the show, one contestant had asked to be edited out of the series. A report had revealed more than 40 historic complaints against Gregg had been upheld, along with a claim that John once used a racist term. Sarah Shafi, from Leeds, argued that airing the series sent the wrong message after the BBC sacked the presenters. Ms Shafi, 57, claimed MasterChef producer Banijay had offered to edit her out of the episode she featured in. "The focus of the series is the contestants, as it always is. The edit has been looked at in light of the upheld findings." Banijay But the participant dismissed the proposal and called for the whole series to be scrapped. Once the corporation confirmed the season was going ahead, Ms Sharif agreed to be edited out. A spokesperson for Banijay previously said: "As we said when we announced the show would be aired, this was not an easy decision in the circumstances and we appreciate not everyone would agree with it. "Banijay consulted with all the contestants before that decision was made and there was widespread support for it going ahead. "The focus of the series is the contestants, as it always is. The edit has been looked at in light of the upheld findings." 6 Footage was edited tightly as the women came back into the kitchen for the result 6 John Torode and Gregg Wallace will not host any further series of Masterchef Credit: BBC 6 The two women made it through to the next round Masterchef airs at 8pm on BBC One and is available on BBC iPlayer
