This time, Enola Holmes's adventure will take her far from London to the island nation of Malta.
Netflix has officially confirmed that Enola Holmes 3 is now in production in the UK. Millie Bobby Brown returns as the fearless and brilliant younger sister of Sherlock Holmes in this third instalment of the beloved mystery series. Based on Nancy Springer's The Enola Holmes Mysteries, the film promises another thrilling adventure packed with wit, courage, and clever clues.
As per the Netflix Report, this time, Enola Holmes's adventure will take her far from London to the island nation of Malta. In the upcoming film, the young detective will be flung into a 'nest of vipers" once she arrives in Malta. It will challenge Enola Holmes as she will juggle between 'a new case and the next stages of her relationship with Tewkesbury." The official logline stated, 'Adventure chases detective Enola Holmes to Malta, where personal and professional dreams collide in a case more tangled and treacherous than any she has faced before."
While Millie Bobby would return as the titular character, Henry Cavill will also be reprising his role as her brother and the famed detective Sherlock Holmes. Helena Bohman Carter is also set to return as their fiercely independent mother, Eudoria Holmes. Louis Patridge will once again charm the audience as Tewkesbury, Enola's love interest, while Himesh Patel will return as the ever-wise Dr. John Watson and Sharon Duncan-Brewster as Moriarty.
The third instalment is being directed by Philip Barantini, the acclaimed filmmaker behind the hit one-take crime drama Adolescence. Jack Thorne, who wrote the scripts for the first two Enola Holmes films, is back once again to pen the screenplay for the upcoming film, promising yet another thrilling adventure. The film also boasts a powerful production team. Mary Parent, Ali Mendes, Alex Garcia, along with Millie Bobby Brown, Jake Bongiovi, Isobel Richards, and Michael Dreyer, are serving as executive producers of the film.
While Netflix has not confirmed a release date for Enola Holmes 3, given that production is currently underway, the film is expected to be released soon on the streaming giant.
FYI, the Enola Holmes film series is considered one of the most successful film franchises on Netflix since its debut. The first film, which premiered on the streaming giant in 2020, was a massive hit, followed by the 2022 sequel, which reached the top 10 charts in 93 countries.
