Freetown [Sierra Leone], May 29 (ANI): The group 4 delegation led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde arrived in Sierra Leone, as part of a global outreach programme. The delegation was welcomed by Baisnab Charan Pradhan, the High Commissioner of India to Sierra Leone.
In a post on X, India's High Commission in South Africa wrote, 'Pursuing India's renewed commitment to counterterrorism and regional stability, an All-party delegation led by@DrSEShindearrived at Freetown.'

Earlier, on Wednesday, an all-party delegation led by Shrikant Shinde halted in Lome [Togo], for transit while en route to Sierra Leone and held discussions on Pakistan-based terrorism and Operation Sindoor.
India's former Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sujan Chinoy, stated that the developmental ties and trade between India and Sierra Leone are on the rise. Chinoy further added that there is also scope to enhance the developmental ties between Sierra Leone and India because of the diversity of minerals in the former.
'Relations between India and Sierra Leone are very good. We opened an embassy in Sierra Leone in 2020. But our diplomatic relations go back to 1961 when they achieved independence. Sierra Leone is a very important country; it's currently a non-permanent member of the UNSC. Our trade and other developmental ties are on the rise. We have about roughly 80-100 million US Dollars worth of bilateral trade...' Chinoy told ANI.
'But there is scope to enhance this because Sierra Leone is rich in minerals. We should also encourage our mining countries to take a fresh look at Sierra Leone. We also have a very large number of lines of credit worth roughly USD 250 million that have been extended to Sierra Leone. We also have a very active ITEC program plus ICCR scholarships that are available to people from Sierra Leone for capacity building,' he further added.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs Bansuri Swaraj, Atul Garg, Manan Kumar Mishra, Indian Union Muslim League's ET Mohammed Basheer, Biju Janata Dal's Sasmit Patra, BJP leader SS Ahluwalia, and former Ambassador Sujan Chinoy are also part of the Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde-led delegation.
The delegation aims to brief international partners on India's response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and its broader fight against cross-border terrorism while engaging with leaders.
The multi-party delegation, consisting of seven groups led by one MP each, has been initiated to counter global misinformation and highlight India's zero-tolerance policy on terrorism. (ANI)

Sambit Patra slams Congress, says ‘Jai Hind Yatra more like Jai Pakistan Yatra'

BJP on Friday lashed out at the Congress for its leaders' questions and jibes at the government following the conflict with Pakistan, and alleged that the opposition party's ongoing 'Jai Hind Yatra' looks more like "Jai Pakistan Yatra". BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra told PTI reporters that senior Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, have often asked about the number of aircraft India lost in the conflict, and accused Jairam Ramesh of equating MPs travelling abroad as members of all-party delegations with terrorists. Gandhi never asked about the details of terror sites and air bases destroyed in Pakistan but his party has enquired about the losses of Indian jets more frequently than the neighbouring country, he said. These leaders are like "babbar" (warrior) of Pakistan, he said, adding that they are gabbar of India, invoking the villain of iconic film Sholay, and added they will meet the same fate as the bandit did in the hands of heroes Jai and Veeru. "Gabbar's defeat is certain due to India's jai (glory) and veerta (valour)." He noted that even Congress MPs are part of the seven all-party delegations currently on a visit to world capitals to put across India's stand following the Pahalgam terror attack and its punitive strikes against Pakistan. These Congress MPs are doing a good job as the delegations are strongly projecting India's stand but Ramesh in one breath is comparing them to terrorists, he said. The Congress chief spokesperson had said on Thursday that the terrorists behind the Pahalgam attack are roaming and so are these MPs abroad. Patra cited controversial statements of a number of Congress leaders, including some questioning military conflict with Pakistan and the suspension of Indus Water Treaty, since after the Pahalgam attack. He said the opposition party might have claimed that it is with the government on the issue but it is lowering the morale of armed forces from the very beginning. The Congress should suspend its Jai Hind Yatra, which is more like Jai Pakistan Yatra, and instead consult with Pakistan and hold a joint press conference, he said, claiming that Gandhi has been quoted frequently in Pakistan. With the Congress increasingly turning caustic at its MP Shashi Tharoor, who is leading the multi-party delegation to the US and four other countries, for his stout defence of the government's actions, Patra said the party is divided into two factions. One supports Pakistan, he alleged, while another include those who want to raise their voice for India but cannot due to leaders like Gandhi. He noted that another Congress leader Salman Khurshid, who is a member of one of the delegarions, had spoken about the changes brought by the revocation of Article 370, and said somebody should relay the former Union minister's remarks to Gandhi. During the Congress-led UPA rule, terrorists were invited to the Prime Minister's Office at the behest of the then Congress president Sonia Gandhi, he claimed and referred to reports that she had cried over the killing of some young terrorists in the Batla House encounter. Patra also referred to Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's comments that India's Brahmos missiles hit his country's military facilities ahead of the planned attack on Indian targets to emphasise on the damages inflicted on the neighbouring country. "Gandhi should listen to his friend Sharif," he said. Patra quoted the opinion of US-based military expert John Spencer, which has been reported widely in the Indian media, that India won the tech war in the conflict while Pakistan lost as China's proxy. He said Spencer was not alone as many experts have spoken about India's decisive victory but some opposition parties, especially the Congress, have been trying to lower the country's morale. Criticising West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her choice of words in slamming Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who at a rally in the state had hit out at her government, he said Modi is everyone's "sewak". It is beyond any doubt that she was sheltering infiltrators and Rohingyas, he added.

'Pakistan Ke Babbar': BJP Hits Out At Rahul Gandhi, Revanth Reddy Over Rafale Remarks

Last Updated: The BJP said the Leader of the Opposition did not ask how many Pakistani airbases were destroyed or how many terrorists were killed in strikes launched by Indian armed forces The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday launched a scathing attack on Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, for questioning how many Rafale fighter jets of India were downed by Pakistan during the dogfight during Operation Sindoor. BJP MP and spokesperson Sambit Patra said the Leader of the Opposition did not ask how many Pakistani airbases were destroyed or how many terrorists were killed in anti-terror strikes launched by Indian armed forces earlier this month. BJP Attacks Rahul Gandhi, Revanth Reddy Over Rafale Remarks 'Rahul Gandhi, Jairam Ramesh, and Revanth Reddy are asking how many Rafales were shot down. 'Yeh jo Pakistan ke Babbar hain, woh Hindustan ke Gabbar hain'. Rahul Gandhi did not ask how many Pakistani airbases were destroyed, or how many terrorists were killed; rather, he only asked how many Indian planes were shot down," he said. The BJP MP from Puri suggested that Congress to stop its 'Jai Hind Yatra" and hold a 'joint press conference with Pakistan." 'Today, there are two factions in Congress – one which supports Pakistan and the other which wants to raise voice for the country but is unable to do so because of you. Your 'Jai Hind Yatra' looks like 'Pakistan's Hind Yatra' and you should stop this yatra and hold a joint press conference with Pakistan," he said. 'Pakistan has downed Rafale fighter jets, which were brought by PM Modi, when asked how many downed? There's no discussion. PM Modi, who purchased war fighter jets from another country, should answer how many Rafale jets have been downed by Pakistan. You have favoured thousands of crores worth of contracts to people who are close to you and purchased Rafale jets, but why did they get destroyed? You should answer this," Reddy had said. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi launched a targeted attack after External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar said that India informed Pakistan after striking terror targets in Pakistan and PoK. 'EAM Jaishankar's silence isn't just telling — it's damning. So I'll ask again: How many Indian aircraft did we lose because Pakistan knew? This wasn't a lapse. It was a crime. And the nation deserves the truth," Rahul tweeted. BJP Slams Jairam Ramesh's Remarks On MPs During the press conference, Patra also slammed Jairam Ramesh for his remarks over the multi-party delegation and alleged that he 'equated terrorists with MPs". 'Jairam Ramesh, who is the right-hand of the Gandhi family, gives a statement, and he says in his statement that terrorists are roaming around, MPs are also roaming around. You have equated terrorists with MPs. MPs did not go on a tour, they went to strongly present India's side in the world, and your MPs are also included in it", the BJP MP said. 'These terrorists of Pahalgam were involved in four attacks and still they are roaming around here and there. Our MPs are roaming and terrorists are also roaming," Jairam had said yesterday, sparking row. First Published:
