The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday launched a scathing attack on Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, for questioning how many Rafale fighter jets of India were downed by Pakistan during the dogfight during Operation Sindoor.
BJP MP and spokesperson Sambit Patra said the Leader of the Opposition did not ask how many Pakistani airbases were destroyed or how many terrorists were killed in anti-terror strikes launched by Indian armed forces earlier this month.
BJP Attacks Rahul Gandhi, Revanth Reddy Over Rafale Remarks
'Rahul Gandhi, Jairam Ramesh, and Revanth Reddy are asking how many Rafales were shot down. 'Yeh jo Pakistan ke Babbar hain, woh Hindustan ke Gabbar hain'. Rahul Gandhi did not ask how many Pakistani airbases were destroyed, or how many terrorists were killed; rather, he only asked how many Indian planes were shot down," he said.
The BJP MP from Puri suggested that Congress to stop its 'Jai Hind Yatra" and hold a 'joint press conference with Pakistan."
'Today, there are two factions in Congress – one which supports Pakistan and the other which wants to raise voice for the country but is unable to do so because of you. Your 'Jai Hind Yatra' looks like 'Pakistan's Hind Yatra' and you should stop this yatra and hold a joint press conference with Pakistan," he said.
'Pakistan has downed Rafale fighter jets, which were brought by PM Modi, when asked how many downed? There's no discussion. PM Modi, who purchased war fighter jets from another country, should answer how many Rafale jets have been downed by Pakistan. You have favoured thousands of crores worth of contracts to people who are close to you and purchased Rafale jets, but why did they get destroyed? You should answer this," Reddy had said.
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi launched a targeted attack after External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar said that India informed Pakistan after striking terror targets in Pakistan and PoK. 'EAM Jaishankar's silence isn't just telling — it's damning. So I'll ask again: How many Indian aircraft did we lose because Pakistan knew? This wasn't a lapse. It was a crime. And the nation deserves the truth," Rahul tweeted.
BJP Slams Jairam Ramesh's Remarks On MPs
During the press conference, Patra also slammed Jairam Ramesh for his remarks over the multi-party delegation and alleged that he 'equated terrorists with MPs".
'Jairam Ramesh, who is the right-hand of the Gandhi family, gives a statement, and he says in his statement that terrorists are roaming around, MPs are also roaming around. You have equated terrorists with MPs. MPs did not go on a tour, they went to strongly present India's side in the world, and your MPs are also included in it", the BJP MP said.
'These terrorists of Pahalgam were involved in four attacks and still they are roaming around here and there. Our MPs are roaming and terrorists are also roaming," Jairam had said yesterday, sparking row.

Telangana: BJP slams CM Revanth Reddy for prioritising 'Photo-ops' over governance
Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], May 31 (ANI): The Telangana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday, accusing him of reducing the Chief Minister's Office to a stage for photo-ops and media spectacles, rather than addressing serious issues of governance. In a sharp statement, BJP State Chief Spokesperson and Media In-Charge N.V. Subash criticised Revanth Reddy for what he described as 'bizarre and irresponsible' behaviour unbecoming of a state leader. He accused the Chief Minister of parroting false narratives that appear more in tune with Pakistan's propaganda than with the sentiments of Indian citizens. Referring to Revanth Reddy's recent remarks questioning the Modi government's military record and alleging failure to reclaim Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), Subash said, 'Is he living in a fantasy? Even a national daily that once published such claims had to retract them after the Defence Ministry clarified the facts. Yet, the CM chooses to repeat these lies, presumably to curry favour with his party high command--Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi--thanks to whom he parachuted into the CM's chair.' Subash questioned whether the Chief Minister had any respect for the Indian Armed Forces, pointing out that the Directorate General of Military Operations (DGMO) had long clarified the facts Revanth continues to distort. 'Even a staunch BJP critic like AIMIM's Asaduddin Owaisi has no hesitation in calling out Pakistan's duplicity. But Revanth Reddy, in a stunning display of ignorance, appears to justify the enemy nation's claims,' he said. Delhi HC rejects plea to halt demolition of Pakistani-Hindu refugee camp
New Delhi [India], May 31 (ANI): The Delhi High Court has rejected a petition seeking to restrain the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) from demolishing the Pakistani-Hindu refugee camp at Majnu Ka Tila until alternative land is allocated to its residents. The court acknowledged its sincere attempts to engage with relevant authorities to facilitate the rehabilitation and relocation of the refugees. However, these efforts remained unproductive, largely due to bureaucratic delays, particularly on the part of the Union of India. Despite the humanitarian concerns, the court clarified that framing policy for refugee relief is beyond its jurisdiction. In a judgment delivered on Friday, Justice Dharmesh Sharma ruled that the interim order issued on March 12, 2024, stands vacated. The court further stated that the petitioner, Ravi Ranjan Singh, along with other similarly placed refugees, 'have no right to continue to occupy the area in question,' thereby dismissing their plea to halt the eviction. The bench emphasised the necessity of safeguarding the ecologically sensitive Yamuna floodplains. It noted that environmental protection measures align with directives from the Supreme Court, the National Green Tribunal (NGT), and the Delhi High Court itself. These actions aim to preserve ecological integrity and uphold the fundamental right to a clean and healthy environment for both current and future generations. Given the fragile state of the Yamuna River, the court asserted that any interference with its restoration efforts cannot be justified. It ruled that humanitarian considerations cannot override environmental imperatives, as such exemptions would delay critical public projects. The petition, filed by Singh, highlighted the plight of nearly 800 Hindu refugees from Pakistan. It urged the court to direct the DDA to refrain from demolition until alternative land was allocated in accordance with the government's policy under the Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019. The plea also called for embankments along the Yamuna to protect such settlements and religious structures, citing precedents like the Akshardham Temple and the Commonwealth Games Village. (ANI)
