Telangana: BJP slams CM Revanth Reddy for prioritising 'Photo-ops' over governance

India Gazettea day ago

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], May 31 (ANI): The Telangana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday, accusing him of reducing the Chief Minister's Office to a stage for photo-ops and media spectacles, rather than addressing serious issues of governance.
In a sharp statement, BJP State Chief Spokesperson and Media In-Charge N.V. Subash criticised Revanth Reddy for what he described as 'bizarre and irresponsible' behaviour unbecoming of a state leader. He accused the Chief Minister of parroting false narratives that appear more in tune with Pakistan's propaganda than with the sentiments of Indian citizens.
Referring to Revanth Reddy's recent remarks questioning the Modi government's military record and alleging failure to reclaim Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), Subash said, 'Is he living in a fantasy? Even a national daily that once published such claims had to retract them after the Defence Ministry clarified the facts. Yet, the CM chooses to repeat these lies, presumably to curry favour with his party high command--Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi--thanks to whom he parachuted into the CM's chair.'
Subash questioned whether the Chief Minister had any respect for the Indian Armed Forces, pointing out that the Directorate General of Military Operations (DGMO) had long clarified the facts Revanth continues to distort. 'Even a staunch BJP critic like AIMIM's Asaduddin Owaisi has no hesitation in calling out Pakistan's duplicity. But Revanth Reddy, in a stunning display of ignorance, appears to justify the enemy nation's claims,' he said.
Taking a dig at the Chief Minister's priorities, Subash added, 'It is unfortunate that Revanth Reddy seems more thrilled about appearing alongside Miss World on tomorrow's front pages than expressing solidarity with the nation at a time of heightened tensions with our rogue neighbour, Pakistan.'
He further mocked the CM for predicting Rahul Gandhi as India's future Prime Minister.
'Even his party members would laugh at that suggestion,' Subash quipped.
The BJP Chief Spokesperson urged the Chief Minister to 'exercise restraint and responsibility' in public discourse, stating that such reckless commentary not only damages Revanth Reddy's credibility but also tarnishes the image of Telangana, a state that played a stellar role in India's freedom struggle. Haryana CM holds meeting in Gurugram, discusses programs to mark 11 years of Modi govt

According to an official statement, CM Saini at the meeting presented the achievements of the Modi government and appealed to everyone to convey it to every household. State President Mohan Lal Baroli, National Vice President Rekha Verma, National Secretary Om Prakash Dhankhar, Organization Minister Phanindranath Sharma along with state ministers, MLAs and MPs attended the meeting. Gurugram, Jun 1 (PTI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday held a meeting at the party office in Gururgam and discussed programmes to mark 11 years of the Narendra Modi government, an official said. BJP National Vice President Rekha Verma gave information about all the programs to be held in June. While addressing the workshop, the CM said that whatever Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in 2014, he completed it in the last 11 years. If we evaluate the period before and after BJP came to power, we will see a huge difference. India has progressed rapidly in these 11 years, he said. 'India's respect in the world has increased under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. He has pledged to make India a developed country by 2047 and we all have to achieve this pledge together,' Saini said. 'In 11 years, the lives of people have become easier. Every district is connected with four-lane roads and the infrastructure of the country and the state has become stronger,' he said. Saini said that PM Modi had pledged to make India the fifth largest economy and brought the resolution to fruition and after becoming the fifth largest economy, the country has now become the fourth largest economy in the world. Soon India will be the third largest economy, he said. 'After independence, development did not happen at the pace that was expected, but in 11 years under the leadership of PM Modi, India is touching new heights of development,' the CM added. Meanwhile, targeting the opposition, Verma said that after the country gained independence, the governments of that time kept the country behind in matters of development. 'If Sardar Patel had been the Prime Minister of India instead of Jawaharlal Nehru, there would have been no problem with Article 370. The country has been transformed after the formation of the government under the leadership of PM Modi in 2014,' she added. BJP national secretary Om Prakash Dhankar said that now India is moving ahead by adopting a new normal under the leadership of PM Modi. He appealed to the workers to go door-to-door and make people realize the achievements of 11 years, he said. BJP State President Pandit Mohan Lal Baroli called upon the officials to make all the programs successful. PTI COR NB NB This report is auto-generated from PTI news service. If govt can agree to truce with Pak, why not with Naxals: TPCC chief

Hyderabad: Telangana Congress president B Mahesh Kumar Goud on Sunday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah launched 'Operation Kagar' (Operation Black Forest) to hand over the mineral wealth of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand to the corporates, under the pretext of eliminating Naxalites. He also criticised the Modi govt for not accepting the offer of talks made by the Maoists. "It is unfortunate that the central govt, under pressure from US President Donald Trump, agreed to a ceasefire and hold talks with Pakistan, which is sponsoring terrorism, but not agreeing to talks with our own citizens (Maoists). Congress' ideology is non-violence, and it will not support any kind of violence, including that done by the Maoists," he said, speaking at a round table meeting convened by Left parties, human rights, and civil society organisations at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram. All the secular and democratic forces, including Congress, should condemn the killing of Naxalites by the govt in 'Operation Kagar', even after the Maoists expressed willingness to hold talks, he said. Just because they (BJP) have power, "the govt violence" on the pretext of 'Operation Kagar' cannot be supported. Since coming to power, the BJP govt has been dismantling constitutional institutions, he added. "When someone is ready for talks, they should be held. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like People Aged 50-85 With No Life Insurance Could Get This Reassured Get Quote Undo The BJP plays politics in the name of religion and gods. There are instances when talks were held during the time of even Lord Rama and Lord Krishna. Not accepting talks reveals their fascist ideology. They have been toppling democratically elected govts in various states. Only a few people are able to oppose them, and one of them is the Gandhi family," Mahesh Goud said. The TPCC chief narrated an ancecdote when Rahul Gandhi, Meenakshi Natarajan, chief minister A Revanth Reddy, and deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka and he were going in a car to attend Bharat Summit in Hyderabad on April 26. "Meenakshi said security forces surrounded Karregutta as part of 'Operation Kagar', but expressed concern that there were civilians there too. Then Rahul Gandhi said that you can eliminate individuals and even a group of people but not their cause. Subsequently, CM Revanth said he would speak to representatives of all parties in this regard. The Gandhi family even pardoned the killers of Rajiv Gandhi, as the Congress firmly believes in non-violence," he said. Telangana Congress leadership would discuss and take a decision soon on the support sought by the Left parties and organisations against 'Operation Kagar'.

Weapons made in U.P. will haunt enemy for long: Dhankhar

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Sunday said the Indian defence forces had proved to the world that the new India is prepared to answer any threat. He also said defence products manufactured in Uttar Pradesh will haunt the enemy for a long time as these demolished hideouts of terrorist outfits. Dhankhar was speaking as the chief guest at an event to mark the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar in Agra. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath and Haryana governor Bandaru Dattatreya were present on the occasion. Union minister of state and Agra MP Prof SP Singh Baghel welcomed the guests. The vice president praised Ahilyabai Holkar for her governance and commitment to women empowerment as well as her contribution to renovation of temples damaged by invaders. Ahilyabai Holkar, who ruled Malwa (Indore) when it was part of the Maratha empire in the 18th century, was well known for her social welfare and humanitarian work. 'This day of the birth anniversary of Ahilyabai Holkar is not only historic, but also an occasion for us to follow the philosophy of life that Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar showed. We need to express commitment to follow her principles because she was not only a good ruler, but also a representative of the high values of Indian heritage, a custodian of religion and culture,' the vice president said. 'She revived countless temples, including the Somnath Temple in Gujarat, Kashi Vishwanath, Omkareshwar, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Bheema Shankar and Rameshwaram. After demolition by Mughal ruler Aurangzeb, Ahilyabai Holkar revived the Kashi Vishwanath temple 100 years later. The ghats and beautification of the present-day Kashi is the outcome of efforts by chief minister Yogi Adityanath under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,' he added. He praised the Uttar Pradesh chief minister as a far-sighted leader who believes in work. 'Yogi Adityanath is following Ahilyabai Holkar in UP and history will remember him in the same way for his work,' the vice president said. 'Our armed forces gave a befitting reply to the cowardly attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam and defence products manufactured in Uttar Pradesh will haunt the enemy for long as they demolished destinations of terrorist outfits of Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Tayyeba within Pakistani territory. Brahmos taught them a lesson and our army proved to the world that it is a new India committed to ending terrorism and replying suitably to any threats posed to it,' the vice president said. 'Present-day Uttar Pradesh has been transformed into Uttam Pradesh and the rule of law prevails here unlike its image in the past. For us, the nation is foremost and nationalism is our religion. U.P. is now the centre of cultural heritage and it began with Prime Minister Narendra Modi opting for Varanasi as his constituency in 2014 and chief minister Yogi Adityanath took it forward. The recently held Mahakumbh proved it beyond doubt to the world,' Dhankhar said. 'I come from a farmer family and am proud to be so because Ahilyabai Holkar too was from a farmer family. The nation is progressing because farmers are committed to its growth. Holkar established high standards of women empowerment and created a unit of women soldiers. Present-day India, too, is a symbol of women empowerment in different arenas, including the armed forces, and now women are to get reservation in the Lok Sabha and the Vidhan Sabha too,' he said. The vice president's wife Dr Sudesh Dhankar, Maharashtra Legislative Council chairman Prof Ramshankar Rao Shinde, former Goa deputy CM Chandrakant Babu Kavlekar, MP PK Parthsarthi and Bastipati Nagaraju were also present.
