2025 Langer Trophy live stream: Wavell SHS v Marsden SHS, Round 5
PLEASE NOTE: The Langer Trophy clash between Marsden SHS and Wavell SHS has been postponed due to the heavy deluge in Queensland's southeast. We will provide a new date for the match when available.
Marsden SHS will confront the last chance saloon on Wednesday when they face Langer Trophy premiership contenders Wavell SHS.
Put simply, Marsden have to win to stay in finals contention after claiming just one victory over the first month of footy.
With only the top five progressing into the finals following a competition revamp, Marsden cannot afford to lose even one of their remaining three games.
The Langer Trophy clash between Marsden and Wavell will be available live and free on KommunityTV from 4.30pm.
The cavalry is on the way, with two of their state schoolboy players, forwards Mace Andrew and Tupou Francis, ruled fit to play.
And Marsden will need all hands on deck against a Wavell side which looms as a top three finisher this season.
Wavell look to be dark horses for the title, having narrowly lost to competition pacesetters Keebra Park by just four points during round three.

Wavell has all bases covered, including around the spine where fullback Timahna Tandy and halves Charlie Webb and Payton Gifford were benefiting from a mobile pack motivated on both sides of the ball.
Wavell also has running strike power through the backs.

Ange Postecoglou's lavish new life after sacking as former Tottenham boss spends $8m payout in style
Don't miss out on the headlines from Football. Followed categories will be added to My News. Ange Postecoglou has turned lemons into lemonade following his brutal Tottenham sacking, living the high life in Europe, all funded by his $8m payout. The 59-year-old was unceremoniously dumped in June despite delivering Tottenham its first trophy in 17 years last month with a 1-0 win over Manchester United in the Europa League final in Bilbao. But with two years still left on his Spurs contract, the Premier League giant was forced to fork out $8 million to the Aussie as part of a severance package. And with that money, the Aussie is living lavishly while he waits for another club to inevitably come calling. Watch the biggest Aussie sports & the best from overseas LIVE on Kayo Sports | New to Kayo? Join now and get your first month for just $1. Postecoglou – who also received a $4.2million bonus for winning the Europa League – has been strongly linked to a move to the MLS to manage Los Angeles FC and is also rumoured to be of interest to Al-Ahli, who won the AFC Champions League in May and play in the Saudi Pro League. However, as of now, he is out of work and safe to say he is making the most of it. A recent video emerged of Postecoglou showing the Aussie relaxing and being hand-fed steak by celebrity chef Stefanos Saratsis, better known as Salt Bae, at the exclusive eatery Sta Kala Kathoumena on the Greek isle of Paros. You can watch the video in the player above In the video, uploaded to TikTok by the celebrity chef, the football manager can be seen with a huge steak laid on the table before him. Saratsis dramatically slices the steak into ribbons before spearing a chunk onto his knife, seasoning it, and feeding it to the manager with the knife's tip. The Aussie is clearly not only enjoying himself in the clip but in the two months following his Tottenham exit. But Socceroos legend Robbie Slater believes he won't be living the lavish lifestyle for too much longer, tipping him to be sucked back into the managerial grind very soon. 'He put himself in that top echelon by being at a big club and winning a big trophy,' Slater told Code Sports. '(But) the way he plays football, I don't think a lower club in the Premier League will look at him and go 'we can take that risk.' 'He might get that opportunity in Europe, maybe Spain or France. He's gonna get a job; he will be in demand. 'He won't have a job to start next season, but as we know in football, it won't take long.' But until then, the Aussie appears to be happy with his change of pace, enjoying his money and time before the inevitable next challenge presents itself. WAFL's top 25 players since 2000: Experts name best this century
Don't miss out on the headlines from AFL. Followed categories will be added to My News. When it comes to the WAFL, we've been spoiled this century. In an era that's been defined by Subiaco's domination, broken records and the rise of cult heroes, picking the best 25 players since 2000 is an unenviable task. It was also a project undertaken by one of our expert panellists back in 2012. And with just seven making the cut again, it's safe to say that the last 13 years of WAFL action have produced some movers and shakers. Our expert panel consisted of esteemed commentator Jacob Landsmeer and WAFL historians Sean Cowan and Greg Wardell-Johnson. First, each judge came up with their individual top 25. Then, the player they deemed to have been the best since 2000 was awarded 25 points, the second-best 24 and so on and so forth down to player 25, who was given one point. The lists were then collated to create a consensus order. The calibre of the players selected is perhaps best judged by who was left off the list, rather than who made it. The selectors considered players who were on a VFL list for at least three years. They also weighted WAFL achievements higher than AFL, wanting to reward the best of the state league rather than those who went on to play the majority of their careers at the next level. AFL coach bakes ‘nuffy' journo as St Kilda crisis addressed
Don't miss out on the headlines from AFL. Followed categories will be added to My News. Ross Lyon has hit out at reports of unrest at St Kilda as the club's dressing room dramas took another turn on Tuesday night. The Saints coach singled out a report from Adelaide-based veteran journalist Michelangelo Rucci, who had earlier set the rumour mill ablaze surrounding the future of several senior players at the club. Rucci reported on SEN SA that star defender Cal Wilkie, captain Jack Steele, midfielder Marcus Windhager and ruckman Rowan Marshall could be part of a mass exodus at the end of the 2025 season. That was quickly followed by the bombshell suggestion from Essendon legend Tim Watson that the Saints were preparing a $25 million offer to bring West Coast star Harley Reid to the club on a 12-year-deal. FOX FOOTY, available on Kayo Sports, is the only place to watch every match of every round in the 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership Season LIVE in 4K, with no ad-breaks during play. New to Kayo? Get your first month for just $1. Limited-time offer. With the Saints already breaking the bank to bring Carlton ruckman Tom De Koning to the club on a rich deal previously reported to have been worth up to $1.7 million per-season and with superstar Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera set to offered a monster deal worth around $1.4 million, there does not appear to be much left in the kitty. GWS 22-gamer Leek Aleer is also reportedly set to move to the Moorabbin-based club. Fox Footy on Tuesday night added details to the dramas at St Kilda with leading journalist Jon Ralph reporting there are fears Steele will be part of the 'collateral damage' of the club's list management moves. Speaking on Fox Footy's mid-week tackle, Ralph said: 'It's not a player exodus just yet, but it's a state of affairs that certainly impacts the club's captain in Jack Steele, and it's vice-captain Cal Wilkie. Don't miss a ding! Never miss the latest sports news from Australia and around the world — download the app direct to your phone. Ross Lyon appeared on Footy Classified. 'There's multiple players on the brink of considering leaving a club that needs to bring in talent, not lose it. 'Senior players are worried that Jack Steele will be part of the collateral damage. This is a club that is making massive offers to the likes of Tom De Koning, Leek Aleer and Harley Reid. They just need to clear cap space.' He said he does not expect Wilkie to leave at the end of the season, but said there has been some bewilderment from Wilkie's camp when it learned of the money the club is preparing to throw elsewhere. With all that swirling in the background, Lyon said on Channel 9's Footy Classified that Rucci's report about Wilkie was 'half-baked'. AFL: Jon Ralph gives an update on the situation at St. Kilda Saints where senior players are... ... more '6.30 tonight (Tuesday), in my car, in my driveway, (Wilkie said): 'Ross I've never entertained going anywhere else, I love St Kilda, I love what we're doing',' Lyon said. 'There's a lot of half-baked stories, that's what I see. 'I heard the (Michaelangelo) Rucci stuff, I listened to it. I thought it was two old blokes having a beer and a barbecue in the backyard. 'There was no substance, no rigour, I said 'Ruc, you send me postcards from Italy herding the sheep and counting the sheep. 'To be honest, you're a Port Adelaide nuffy, let's move on. 'Does he write content for the Port Adelaide SANFL club, is he a mad Port Adelaide, are they trying to get us into a bit of turmoil? Callum Wilkie of the Saints. I would think contracted players are at your club unless you decide otherwise.' Lyon also addressed reports about the club's interest in Harley Reid, curiously suggesting West Coast officials are frustrated by Reid's ongoing contract saga — and the club's failure to lock the young star down. 'I do love Tim, but he got this one wrong,' Lyon said. 'You just voiced, Don Pyke the (West Coast) CEO, who we love and respect, is frustrated at their end for whatever reason for Harley and negotiations. 'Clearly they think there is something in the ether that is getting in their way. Well it certainly isn't me.' Lyon said he has never spoken to Reid personally. However, he did not address the possibility of Reid speaking to other figures at the Saints. Originally published as AFL coach bakes 'nuffy' journo as St Kilda crisis addressed
