How does Auburn's offensive line stack up with the best in the nation?
Auburn's offensive line returns plenty of experienced pieces and will be viewed as a strength this season.
The likes of Connor Lew, Jeremiah Wright, Dillon Wade, and Izavion Miller bring 2,798 snaps of experience to the Tigers' offensive line from last year, with each possessing an efficiency rating of 96.1 or higher. It is no wonder that Auburn's offensive line is viewed as one of the best in the nation.
ESPN analyst and former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy recently included Auburn in his top-10 offensive line rankings, placing the Tigers' experienced unit at No. 8 above Clemson and Oregon, and one spot below Penn State.
"A lot of this has to do with the fact that a lot of guys are back," McElroy said during a recent episode of Always College Football, where he and former Auburn lineman Cole Cubelic broke down the nation's best offensive line units. "I thought last year's group collectively at season's end was playing really good football."
Lew, Wade, and Wright anchored the offensive line last season. However, Wade played over 100 snaps at three different positions last season before setting up shop as the Tigers' starting left tackle for the final six games of the season. McElroy feels that is when Auburn's line began to gel.
"I think Dillon Wade and Connor Lew once those guys kind of settled into the spots they ended up settling in at, Lew at center in particular, that was a huge difference maker," McElroy said. "They finally figured out that left tackle was a huge spot throughout the first six, seven, eight games last year. They finally get one guy out, put another guy in, and everything seems to calm down."
Mixing the returners, plus Xavier Chaplin and Mason Murphy from the transfer portal, will put Auburn into a great position to become one of the top units in the nation, and McElroy believes that their ceiling is higher heading into the season.
With Auburn also boasting one of the nation's best wide receiver rooms and a new quarterback in Jackson Arnold, offensive line play will be crucial this season, and Auburn's room will be up for the challenge.

Former Alabama quarterback to reportedly start for ACC program
Sources: Boston College is naming redshirt sophomore Dylan Lonergan as the starting quarterback, and he'll debut for BC as the starter in the opener against Fordham. Lonergan is an Alabama transfer who came to BC this winter. He was ESPN's No. 36 overall recruit in the Class of… According to a report from ESPN's Pete Thamel, a former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback is set to start for an ACC program this upcoming season. That quarterback is Dylan Lonergan, an offseason transfer from the Crimson Tide, who, according to Thamel, has won the starting job entering this season at Boston College. The Eagles are currently coached by former Alabama offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien. A former four-star recruit, per 247Sports, in Alabama's 2023 recruiting class, Lonergan was a backup across each of the past two seasons in Tuscaloosa where he saw limited action. With the Crimson Tide, Lonergan completed 7-of-8 passes for 35 yards, while also rushing for 21 yards on two attempts. Lonergan was one-of-two players to transfer this past offseason from Alabama to Boston College, joined by tight end Ty Lockwood. 'He's done it all': 2027 4-star QB commit explains why he committed to Texas A&M
Texas A&M's 2027 recruiting class started things off with a bang after landing the first commitment in the class, four-star quarterback Jayce Johnson, whose elite arm talent makes him a likely five-star prospect by this time next year. Under second-year OC Collin Klein, Texas A&M has become a destination for top quarterback prospects after landing 2026 4-star Helaman Casuga. This season, redshirt sophomore Marcel Reed enters the year as the starter after trading starts with Conner Weigman last season, and after the former five-star prospect transferred to Houston this offseason, Reed's future as the starter is set in stone. While he's expected to return in 2026, current backup Miles O'Neill and Casuga look like the immediate options if he were to leave the program. Looking ahead, Jayce Johnson is not your run of the mill quarterback prospect who lacks at least one or more traits, as the Georgia native possesses a live arm, and is already one of the more accurate passers in the class. After one or two seasons with the Aggies, he is destined to compete for the starting job. After his commitment on Sunday, Johnson spoke to 247Sports' Tom Loy, discussing his decision, choosing the Aggies over Tennessee, South Carolina, Mississippi State, and Florida State. "I'm headed to Texas A&M. It's the place for me because the coaching staff is very loyal. They have been there since early in my recruitment. They have shown so much love. Also, the environment around the campus is exactly what I'm looking for. It's like what I'm living in now." Culture has been the winning factor on the recruiting trail for Mike Elko and his staff, developing strong and lasting bonds with every one of the 27 commits in the 2026 cycle, which has continued to win over elite prospects like Johnson. While he reportedly made up his mind during his last unofficial visit to College Station, his relationship with Collin Klein likely sealed the deal this early in the process. "I have known him since I was young. He's been through everything I want to do. He's done it all. He's been there and done that. The way he coaches, I went out there for a spring practice, and he takes so much pride in what he does. He's a family guy. I love that about him as well." Johnson's firm commitment to Texas A&M could result in more momentum this fall, as the standout signal caller further stated that several of his 2027 recruiting peers want to play with him at the next level, including a rising four-star wide receiver out of Florida.
