Elite OL recruit announces commitment to Georgia football
The Georgia Bulldogs have added commitment No. 13 in the class of 2026. Georgia's latest commitment is from three-star offensive lineman Zachary Lewis.
Lewis, a member of the 2026 recruiting cycle, plays high school football for North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, Georgia. The 6-foot-4, 270-pound offensive lineman projects to play as an interior offensive lineman in college. Last season, Lewis and North Gwinnett advanced to the quarterfinals of the 6A playoffs before losing to Buford.
Lewis is ranked as the No. 86 recruit in Georgia, per the 247Sports Composite. He's the No. 69 interior offensive lineman in the country and the No. 780 recruit in the nation in the 2026 recruiting class. Lewis can squat 500 pounds, but is still looking to add strength and muscle to his frame.
The North Gwinnett standout is a good student and committed to Georgia following his official visit to Athens from June 6-8. Lewis committed to Georgia over Florida and Georgia Tech. He took an official visit to Georgia Tech before he elected to commit to Georgia. He also holds recent scholarship offers from South Carolina and North Carolina.
Lewis joins fellow in-state offensive lineman Graham Houston in committing to Georgia. The Bulldogs have the No. 6 recruiting class in the country. UGA's class is the highest ranked in the SEC.

Former Georgia Bulldogs running back Nick Chubb is close to finding a new home. He is expected to sign with the Houston Texans on a one-year deal, according to Ian Rapoport. His physical is still pending. Chubb was a five-star running back when he was recruited by the Georgia Bulldogs in 2014. He would go on to have one of the most legendary careers by a Georgia running back ever. Through four seasons, he ranked second among all running backs in yards (4,769) and touchdowns (44) in school history. Chubb's injury concerns popped up in 2015, when he tore his PCL, MCL, and LCL against Tennessee. Despite the injury, the Cleveland Browns selected him 37th overall in the 2018 draft. Early on, Chubb looked like he could be one of the greatest running backs of all time. In his first five seasons, he totaled 6,341 yards and 48 touchdowns on just 1,210 attempts. He had more yards than Pro Football Hall of Famers Tony Dorsett, Edgerrin James, Jerome Bettis, and Thurman Thomas did through their first five seasons. Unfortunately, injuries caught up with him again. He suffered a torn MCL in 2023 vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football. That took him out for the rest of the 2023 season and six games of the 2024 season. Need a break? Chubb now is expected to join a crowded backfield with solid veteran Joe Mixon, youngster Dameon Pierce, and fourth-round pick Woody Marks.

The 7-foot and 270-pounder is ranked by On3 as its No. 99 overall recruit, giving the Irish two top-100 players in the group. Head coach Micah Shrewsberry hasn't put it all together on the court, but he is building towards much better times in South Bend. Last year's four commits were ranked as the No. 5 overall class in the 247Sports Composite, and with these two verbals, Notre Dame is again near the top of the rankings in 2026 at No. 7. The future is extremely bright for the Irish, as they continue to add impressive talent to the roster.
