As winter holds on for a little longer in Hong Kong, take advantage of the agreeable weather to venture out to some new restaurants in March.

Exciting concepts from independent chefs pepper the Hong Kong dining scene, and among the new openings is one by an alum of a Michelin-star restaurant who is striking out on his own.
Also among the new places to try is a contemporary Chinese restaurant. A new Italian joint is open on Caine Road in Mid-Levels, while a culinary giant from mainland China has joined forces with a Michelin-star institution in Beijing to tempt Hong Kong gourmands with some unique offerings.

In the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, Path is an innovative eight-seat restaurant led by chef Tony Mok. With roots in Cantonese cooking but adopting Western techniques, Mok reimagines classic Chinese dishes to give them a modern twist.

Path offers a refined yet relaxed dining experience. Its tasting menu features creative dishes such as croustade with uni and strawberry hot sauce; XO-inspired scallop tartare; and braised beef short rib with a douchi-infused sauce.

The Spaniard needed just one hour 34 minutes to dismantle former world number nine Paul 6-0, 6-1, 6-4 and set up a last-four meeting with Italy's Lorenzo Musetti. Musetti, seeded eighth, earlier beat Paul's compatriot and 15th seed Frances Tiafoe in four sets. It will be the third time Alcaraz and Musetti meet this clay-court season. Alcaraz has dominated that series, beating the Italian in the final in Monte Carlo before also stopping him in the last four on his way to the Rome title. And the 22-year-old's blistering performance under the lights on centre court in Paris will have many backing him to make it three from three against Musetti as he seeks to defend his title. "It was, I could close my eyes and everything went in, my feeling today was amazing. Today was one of those matches where everything went in, I'm just pleased with everything," said Alcaraz. Alcaraz fired 40 winners on his way to victory over Paul for just 22 unforced errors as he emphatically put inconsistent displays in the previous rounds behind him. "This kind of match is never easy," he said. "I've played Tommy many times and he's beat me twice." Despite previous success against Alcaraz, it took the 28-year-old American eight games to get on the scoreboard as his opponent raced out of the blocks, mixing powerful groundstrokes with perfectly-weighted drop-shots and lobs. Paul put up determined resistance in the third set but couldn't deny Alcaraz, who broke in the ninth game before holding to love for victory. "I know you wanted to watch more tennis," an apologetic Alcaraz told the crowd on centre court. "I have to say sorry for that. But I had to do my work." Sabalenka next faces three-time defending champion Iga Swiatek of Poland who posted a straight-sets victory over 13th seed Elina Svitolina. The top seed from Belarus won through 7-6 (7/3), 6-3 against the Chinese eighth seed in just under two hours on Court Philippe Chatrier. The 27-year-old fought back after struggling in the first set against Zheng, who had beaten her in the last eight on clay in Rome last month, extending her record against the Chinese player to 7-1. "The last tournament I was pretty exhausted," said Sabalenka. "Today I was more fresh I was ready to battle, to fight and give everything. "Honestly, I was actually glad that I lost that match because I needed a little break before Roland Garros." Zheng broke and led 4-2 in the first set. But numerous unforced errors – 31 in total – allowed the Belarusian to come back. The second set was also tight before Sabalenka broke back to lead 4-3, taking advantage of her opponent's errors. Sabalenka converted her first match point on a poorly-controlled drop-shot from Zheng to reach her seventh semifinal of the season. In another quarterfinal, Swiatek bested the former world number three Svitolina of Ukraine 6-1, 7-5 in just over 90 minutes to continue her bid to equal a 102-year record by winning four successive French Open titles. At the top of the shopping list for many is "Giant Panda Twin Cubs", which features Hong Kong's very own Jia Jia and De De. Also popular will be "Hong Kong Hiking Trails Series No 3: Wilson Trail", which offers 10 scenic views of one of the most distinct and challenging hikes, coming in at 78 kilometres from Stanley to Nam Chung. "Aviation Development in Hong Kong" is a set of four stamps showcasing the airport over the decades, from its relocation from Kai Tak to Chek Lap Kok to its runway development. The "24 Solar Terms – Autumn" series features designs based on the Chinese calendar and marks the "change of seasons and meteorological patterns," particularly the six solar terms of transition into the cooler months. "Christmas Stamps V" uses the iconic Victoria Harbour silhouette to embrace Hong Kong's multicultural identity, with night views serving as the background and Christmas elements adorning the skyline.
