United had their worst top-flight season in half a century, capped by their Europa League Final defeat by Spurs.
But Amorim is convinced he has EVERYTHING in place to follow in the long-term footsteps of United managerial greats Sir Matt Busby and Sir Alex Ferguson and create his own dynasty.
In a brutally honest, no-holds-barred interview, Amorim revealed: Why he DREADED driving to Old Trafford last season
His six-man 'leadership group' and the new rules they must police

His 'no-bulls***' relationship with Sir Jim Ratcliffe
Amorim said: 'I want to stay at this club. I want to stay 20 years.
'That is my goal and I truly believe in that.

'When I was at Sporting, I was waiting for the right club. I know it sounds crazy. But I chose this club. I had the feeling.
'Something will happen. In some moments I will be lucky. I had a lot of luck during my career as a manager and my idea is to stay for many years.
'I don't want to experience pain. I just want to bond, to be part of it. I will stay here as long as I can.
'But we know that the results will dictate that. I know that last season I used up all the credits but I'm ready to start fresh.'
United's last Prem success was in Fergie's final season of 2012-13.
Amorim is the sixth full-time manager appointed since the Scot left 12 years ago, with United's reputation flagging as rivals City and Liverpool have replaced them as dominant forces.

But the Portuguese is convinced the decline is a temporary blip and that United's return to greatness is inevitable.
He added: 'I know there was a massive gap last season between where we finish and the European places.
Amorim refuses to guarantee Hojlund Man Utd future amid Sesko transfer push
'But this is Manchester United. We need to return to Europe and get back to where the club should be.
'I have no doubts, because there are some things that you cannot buy.
'This club has them. The pedigree, the history, the fans. We have that.
'Then the money. We have money. We have money without the Champions League.
I want to stay at this club. I want to stay 20 years."
Ruben Amorim
'So we can spend, we have money and we'll have more money in the future. And we are doing everything.
"You talk with Omar (Berrarda, United's chief executive) and all these guys, they are making all the strategy to have more money in the future.
'So that will not be a problem. Then the culture.
"If we have a different culture, with all that, with all the pedigree, the money, all these things, we can return to our place. And that is clear.'

The football world is still recovering from the death of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva after a car crash just over a month ago in Northern Spain. The former Liverpool forward was just weeks removed from winning the UEFA Nations League with Portugal and only days after marrying his long-term partner, with whom he shared three children. The pair started off their footballing journeys at Gondomar before heading off to academy sides Pacos de Ferreira for Diogo and Porto for Andre Silva. Silva actually returned to play for the first team at Gondomar from 2021 until 2023 when he moved to Penafiel. Pic As well as featuring silhouettes of the brothers, their names as well as the infinity symbol will feature on the back of the collar of the kit. In a translated statement from the club's Instagram, Gondomar said; 'More than a jersey, a tribute eternal. Pic 'This season, Gondomar Sport Club enters the field with a heart full of memories and feelings. Our new jersey brings in great the image of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva, two sons of Gondomar who left us too soon, but who will live forever in the history of our club and our football. 'Every time our athletes put on this jersey, it's like stepping on the field with them. Because football is more than victories and goals, it's legacy, it's family, it's love for our land.'

And he could be set to add a few more names to his "bomb squad" thanks to the implementation of the most elite fitness apparatus. Amorim's troops will this season wear STATSports' Apex 2.0 GPS performance tracker vests during training and in matches to keep tabs on their respective outputs. The trackers will provide "real-time kinematics" to the former Sporting Lisbon boss and his staff with a whopping FIVE MILLION data points over a 90-minute period. STATSports managing director Paul McKernan told The Telegraph: "You can make decisions on the players based on data you see in front of you. "Not waiting until after the session and downloading the data and saying 'I wish Mason Mount had run a little bit further or done a few more sprints, or actually he did too much today."
