CHICAGO (WGN) — One person is dead and another is in critical condition after a car crashed into a building on the Near North Side early Saturday morning.
Chicago police say the deadly crash unfolded in the 100 block of East Superior Street, in River North, just before 3 a.m.

Officers said the victims, a 40-year-old man and a male whose age is unknown, were traveling eastbound along Superior in a Chevy SUV when the driver lost control and crashed into the building.
Following the crash, the 40-year-old man was taken to the hospital in critical condition, while the male of unconfirmed age was pronounced dead on the scene.
Currently, it is unclear what caused the crash and authorities have not yet identified the victim killed.

He then sat next to another girl, briefly spoke with her and touched her inappropriately before all three children left the area. The man reportedly followed them for a short time before fleeing north through the Plymouth Court tunnel, police said.
