TommyInnit promises to quit making AI content and deletes controversial YouTube video after fan backlash

TommyInnit, one of YouTube's most energetic creators, is stepping away from AI content for good. After dropping a 30-minute video where he played around with generative AI, fans weren't having it, and neither was he, apparently.
Following heavy criticism and rising concerns about his book's artwork, Tommy has now deleted the video, apologized, and said he won't be making AI content in the future.
The AI Video That Sparked It All
On June 15, TommyInnit dropped a video titled
'Asking AI About Me.'
It was meant to be a fun, silly interaction with generative AI, classic chaotic Tommy style. But fans didn't find it so harmless.
The main issue? Viewers felt it pushed AI tech without acknowledging the baggage, especially the environmental impact of energy-hungry models and their potential to replace human creativity.
That didn't sit well with his community.
Ironically, Tommy had already hinted at discomfort in the video description:
'I really do think AI is bad… Taking away from the human spirit is not a good ambition for corporations to have.'
TommyInnit is A Hypocrite
The Book Controversy Made Things Worse
This wasn't Tommy's first brush with AI controversy. A month earlier, Reddit users speculated that AI might've been used in
TommyInnit's Guide To Survival
. The book's illustrator, Amrit Birdi, reportedly listed an 'AI Lab' on his site, which led to people assuming AI tools were involved in the art process.
While there's no official confirmation that AI was actually used in the book, the timing couldn't have been worse.
TommyInnit Responds: 'No More AI, I Promise'
On June 25, Tommy took to X (formerly Twitter) to issue a public apology:
'Sorry everyone, I genuinely did not know about the negative impacts AI had on the environment… I've taken down my video "asking AI about me" & have no plans to make any ai content in the future.'
His post was clear; he's done with AI, period.
But Not Everyone Was Happy
While many fans appreciated Tommy's accountability, others, especially fellow creators, weren't as kind. Streamer Tectone accused him of 'virtue signaling,' sarcastically suggesting that if Tommy's really concerned about the environment, he should stop using the internet altogether. YouTuber Donut Operator chimed in too, saying,
'Really? Dude, c'mon.'
So yeah, the creator community is
very
divided.
The Bigger Picture
Tommy's not the only one getting heat over AI. Earlier this month, MrBeast faced backlash for launching an AI-powered thumbnail tool. The creator world is clearly in the middle of an AI identity crisis, and fans aren't afraid to call it out. For now, TommyInnit's keeping it real: no more AI, no more noise, just vibes.
Game On Season 1 continues with Mirabai Chanu's inspiring story. Watch Episode 2 here.

Abhignya Vuthaluru on working in ‘thrilling, chilling' Viraatapalem PC Meena Reporting: ‘Many were shocked to learn…'

It's not just big stars, even those who've built a loyal fanbase through social media content also often find it difficult to break away from their established persona and try something uncharted. The hesitation isn't always due to a lack of ability. It more often stems from the fear of whether their fans would accept them in a new light, shattering the image that helped build their popularity in the first place. But YouTuber-turned-actor Abhignya Vuthaluru believes she's been fortunate to have an audience that already knows that she's a jack of many trades and supports her wish to experiment as an artiste. Not just that she isn't weighed down by the persona shaped by her fashion-centric YouTube channel, but it has only empowered her to pursue her aspirations in cinema without being enchained by expectations. That's also one of the reasons, she admits, why she could confidently take on the central role in the upcoming ZEE5 Telugu original series Viraatapalem: PC Meena Reporting without second thoughts. In Viraatapalem: PC Meena Reporting, Abhignya plays Meena, a police constable posted in the fictional village of Viraatapalem during the 1980s. The series is touted as a thriller centred around the mysterious deaths of brides on their wedding days, as a result of which no marriage has taken place in the village in a decade. The trailer and other promotional material have also established that the show will be a thrilling ride, devoid of overtly feel-good elements. Speaking about the show, in an exclusive conversation with SCREEN, Abhignya says, 'While I was watching the first cut, there were moments where I felt a sort of (creepy) energy. These aren't jump scares, but scenes that make you feel eerie. The frames and music definitely keep you hooked. It's both thrilling and chilling.' So what drew her to a character like Meena, especially since the show features a subject many actors might shy away from due to its intensity and the need to step outside their comfort zone? Abhignya notes, 'Though I am not so self-introspecting on my choices, I know where I want to be. I know with the little or upcoming better influence that I have, I want to be part of stories that reflect something beyond skin and external factors, such as fashion. Having said that, there's nothing wrong with it. I myself come from a fashion background and have a fashion channel. But I think that is always something you can achieve. However, stories like Viraatapalem that have personalities and layers are rare finds. It is a choice that I made much earlier in my career. While I'm part of glam and femme stories too, I also want to prove to my audience that this is the range I can perform. I want to be a versatile actor that way.' Was it an easy decision to take on such a role, especially since it deviates so far from her public persona? Did she ever worry about how her social media fam would react? 'I am actually blessed with a crowd on my social media who know that I can do that and this. While I enjoy the vanity aspect of actors, I also want to have a voice. Sure, we like to look at someone pretty, but when they have something to tell, it'll keep us hooked to them. I don't have a mantra to it. I'm just going by my gut feeling, and I know that it's all sort of adding up,' Abhignya maintains. 'It was so different from my other projects and in a good way,' she recalls her experience working on Viraatapalem. 'This was the first time I got a proper Telugu script in a set. And that took me back to my childhood.' Although she can read and write in Telugu, Abhignya admits she had started losing touch with the lipi (script), since most of her recent projects had English or Tenglish (a blend of Telugu and English) scripts. 'Also, when you speak English often, you tend to use a certain enunciation, and that's something I had to unlearn this time. It was a beautiful experience. Everyone on set was shocked upon learning that I could actually read Telugu,' she adds. A post shared by SCREEN (@ieentertainment) During the chat, Abhignya also shared that part of the fun working on Viraatapalem was also because the show has a 'beautiful balance of young and experienced actors.' She adds, 'There were character artistes who had as much experience as our ages. And they were cracking jokes and trying to understand our lingo. It was a super fun set. Also, the pace at which director Poluru Krishna shot the show was impressive. He knew every frame very well. This was the quickest shoot I have been part of.' Also starring Charan Lakkaraju, Lavanya Sahukara, Ramaraju, Gowtham Raju and Satish in key roles, Viraatapalem: PC Meena Reporting will start streaming on ZEE5 on June 27.

Tired of too many ads? go ad free now A Community Favorite Crosses the Line Mang0, widely considered one of the most successful, popular, and influential Super Smash Bros. Melee players of all time, was one of 23 streamers invited to compete at the June 21 event, a raucous, booze-soaked tournament created by YouTube star Ludwig. Meant as an innocent, nostalgic nod to the original Mario Kart setup that should have been a funny and harmless throwback, the stream took a seriously gross turn almost immediately. Footage of the stream soon spread across all social media platforms and faced backlash for the action taking place as well as the normalization of high levels of drinking at creator events. Valkyrae Speaks Out: 'He Was a Disaster' Like many of us, during her June 24 livestream, Valkyrae was furious over the whole situation. She said, "'Really was fun, but the Mang0 situation was serious.' Yeah, no, Mang0 was a disaster. He was a mess. And I cannot believe the clips that I saw. I, just yeah, it is quite unfortunate. I do think that he needs to seek help for sure." Valkyrae speaks about the Mang0 Incident during Ludwig's Beerio Kart The fallout for Mang0 has been pretty swift and severe. On June 25, after facing backlash, he issued an apology on X, taking responsibility for the fact that he messed up, hurt people, and crossed a line. In his admission, he cited a recent history of alcohol-related misconduct and a willingness to change and learn from his mistakes. Even with these provisions, for many the damage was done. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Cloud9, Mang0's esports organization of many years, cut his contract in the wake of an internal investigation. In the midst of this, Ludwig personally declared that Mang0 would be banned from all future events his company runs, which would effectively remove him from most of the biggest Melee tournaments left. As the dust settles, fans and industry leaders alike are left with one inevitable question, how much is acceptable to endure in pursuit of content? One thing is for certain, Mang0's footprint on Melee can't be scrubbed clean, but whether or not he has a future in the community remains uncertain.

MrBeast slammed for posting friend's reaction to Coach Tyler Wall's death in viral weight loss video

YouTube sensation MrBeast is facing backlash after uploading a controversial video titled Lose 100 LBS, Win $250,000 on June 21, 2025. Intended to inspire viewers by documenting contestant Majd's weight loss journey, the video has ignited debate online. Particularly, for including his raw emotional response to the death of his trainer Coach Tyler Wall. In the video, Majd could be seen breaking down after learning that Coach Wall, who had been instrumental to his transformation, had unexpectedly passed away mid-challenge. The footage, which includes emotional piano music, came under the scanner with people accusing the YouTuber of exploitation. Many criticised the YouTuber's video and compared it with Logan Paul's 2017 'Suicide Forest' video, a now-notorious moment in YouTube history. One X (formerly Twitter) user said MrBeast adding sad piano music to Majd's reaction was disgusting. He added, 'Recording it AT ALL is insane... POSTING it is inhumane.' Some argued that the video crossed a line by capitalising on real grief for emotional impact. Another user said recording someone during their most vulnerable moments for an extended period and showing it was unhealthy. Others called for the video to be cancelled altogether after the trainer's death, saying that honouring the coach would have meant quietly supporting Majd without publicising his heartbreak. One X user bluntly commented that MrBeast should have stopped the video and just given him the money. In spite of the intense backlash, a section of people came to MrBeast's defence. They noted the video included a viewer discretion warning, a dedication to Coach Wall, and a statement from MrBeast's team claiming the coach's family had consented to the release of the footage. One of the viewers, defending the YouTuber, said the Wall family wanted MrBeast to post the footage. 'People are overreacting to farm clout,' the user wrote, urging critics to watch the video in its entirety. The video refers to Tyler as 'a kind and genuine spirit,' and mentions that his family hopes to keep his memory alive through positive messages. MrBeast has not commented on the controversy yet. The YouTuber is under fire for including a grieving contestant's raw emotional reaction to the death of his trainer, Coach Tyler Wall, in a video challenge. He was a personal trainer helping contestant Majd lose 100 pounds for a $250,000 prize. He tragically passed away mid-way through filming. Critics believe the video was exploitative for including footage of Majd's grief, especially accompanied by emotional music. Some compared it to Logan Paul's infamous 2017 video. As of now, the video remains live. MrBeast has not issued a statement.
