We're excited about our, our release this morning and the confidence we have as we look ahead and not least because of the opportunity of having this, uh, Wegovy in a pill, the first, uh, oral GLP-1 treatment in obesity. I think it's important to underline that this is a very, very well established molecule. So we have more than 30,000 patient years of semaglutide usage in diabetes and obesity. So from a regulatory point of view, I think the profile is, is quite straightforward, uh, 16.6% weight loss. Um, uh, the safety profile I mentioned, and not even being safe. Actually, also having added benefits of, of cardiovascular protective profile, and remind, uh, everybody that we already have the product on the market in type two diabetes. So from a risk and FDA point of view, I think this is perhaps one of the easier reviews for them, so to say.

Speaker B
I, I know that Wegovy is really top of mind for everyone today. Investors are really moving on that. Hope for recovery. We've seen you lose a little bit of ground in the US against competitor Lilly's Zepound. Talk to me about that. And, you know, I know you've done a number of things like get access through telehealth platforms, and then CVS, that deal for the formulary, exclusively for the formulary. I know that you've mentioned that you don't agree with that exclusivity clause. Talk to me about that and why enter that deal, and also what that means for Wegovy's recovering prescription numbers.

Lars Fruergaard Jørgensen
Yeah, thanks. Uh, it's clear that our development in in scripts have been subdued because of compounding. Uh, so we estimate that in totality that is approximately as big as our own business, uh, which is quite, you know, surprising in many ways. And now we are off the drug shortage list as declared by the FDA. So now it's turning illegal to, to do compounding in mass volumes. Uh, so we will be aggressively pursuing that to make sure that's closed down. And that of course then means that patients will have access to, to the real deal, so to say, uh, Wegovy coming from Novo Nordisk. And there it's important to underline that we have made a cash offering to increasingly be present where the patients are buying the medicine, also on telehealth. So some partnerships there to stretch and, and, and be present where the patients are. And then you mentioned the CVS deal, uh, where I think it's important to underline that we have not made a bid for an exclusive position. Uh, some have been worrying that the price war was coming up. We are not going for that. We believe in choice for physicians and patients. Uh, so this is a decision made from CVS, and I think it's the testament about the strength of Wegovy, the fact that has a cardiovascular protective profile, and hopefully later this year upon FDA approval, also a mass indication, significant health burden. And the fact you can get all of this in one product, uh, paying for it once and getting the full value, uh, is, I think, a really, really good deal. And that's why I think CVS made the choice they made. But I also say we have a strong partnership with CVS, a very good collaboration. It's a great company. And, uh, that is also expressed in that the 9,000 outlets, CVS pharmacies, also carry our cash program, the $499 a month supply of Wegovy. So a close partnership and, uh, you know, working together to reach more patients going forward.
08:21
Speaker B
Yeah, that 4.99 is interesting. I, I bet you hope more people are citing that than the, than the list price, um, these days. I want to also talk about tariffs. Previously when I spoke to you, you said that you're not worried about them. And we've heard from President Trump saying that within the next couple of weeks, he's going to unveil what will be the tariffs that hit the pharmaceutical sector. Any thoughts about that, as well as the revival of potentially a most favored nation clause, uh, just for the Medicaid population is where it's looking at right now. I know it's a small population, but the idea that it could be weighed against, you know, international pricing or any kind of tariffs that might hit. How are you thinking about bracing for all these changes?
09:22
Lars Fruergaard Jørgensen
Yeah, it's, I think there is significant uncertainty right now, and also some volatility in the market as these comments are made. If we look at the facts, uh, over the past years, and also as many companies move manufacturing out of the US, and sometimes to low tax jurisdiction, uh, we as a company actually move manufacturing to the US. Uh, over the past 10 years, we have invested more than $24 billion in our operations in the US. We have more than 10,000 people now. And if you look at our footprint in the US, we produce more than we need for the US. So we actually export more from the US than we import into the US. So we are net exporter of manufactured products. So in many ways, I think we are doing what the administration wants: create jobs in the US, produce in the US, and supply to the rest of the world. And when we talk about this oral, you know, solution, Wegovy in a pill, I can actually, I'm very proud to say that the API, the active pharmaceutical ingredient, is made in the US, the tablet is made in the US, the packaging is made in the US. So it's 100% US manufactured product. There's no sourcing of chemicals from China and elsewhere. It's biologic manufacturing taking place in North Carolina and supplied to Americans. So we are proud about that, and I think in many ways that's exactly what the administration is after. Uh, so, so that's great. On the most favored nation, and particular Medicaid, as you mentioned, uh, Medicaid is, together with the veterans, where we have the lowest price points. So when, when people talk about the list price and compare that with European prices, this is much different in Medicaid. That's where we have some of the deepest rebates. So I worry less about the delta to Europe on that. I think that's where perhaps this category of products is priced different than more specialty products and the like. So I think we, I think we can manage that.

Hairstylists, medical expert confirms this side effect for Ozempic users

Side effects from GLP-1s can vary, but one lesser-known reported outcome of the popular weight-loss medications is hair loss or thinning. Some hairstylists have confirmed an uptick in clients who complain about losing hair while on weight-loss journeys. Advertisement This includes Ashley DiMatteo, owner of Ashley Lauren Beauty Lounge in Westchester, New York, and Briana Delvecchio, a color specialist and hairdresser at DiMatteo's salon. The two spoke with Fox News Digital in an on-camera interview. 'There has definitely been an increase in clients coming in with hair loss,' DiMatteo said, noting that it ranges from gradual to fast, and from thinning out to completely losing hair. Delvecchio agreed that she's had 'a few' clients come in reporting thinner and drier hair, which she suspects could be due to weight-loss drugs. The hairstylist, who herself takes a GLP-1 drug, said there may be a few reasons for hair changes, including new medications, vitamin deficiencies, and weight loss, which can put stress on the body. Advertisement Becky Watt, an Ohio hairstylist with more than 20 years of experience, said she's also noticed clients losing hair while taking weight-loss drugs. 'I've seen thinning and shedding, and a lot of hair coming out very easily when being washed,' she told Fox News Digital. 'I have not noticed any bald spots.' 6 Some hairstylists have confirmed an uptick in clients who complain about losing hair while on weight-loss journeys. blackday – She's had some clients, however, who are taking the medications without any hair loss, Watt added. Medical factors Advertisement In a separate interview, Dr. Philip Rabito, an endocrinologist in New York City, said this reaction, called telogen effluvium, is a stress response to weight loss that affects the hair follicle. The response is only temporary, he noted. The hair will fall out, then grow back once the weight loss stabilizes after a few months. 'It's a response to severe physical stress, and weight loss is considered starvation,' Rabito said. 'It is the rapidity of the weight loss that correlates with the amount of hair loss.' 6 Ashley DiMatteo, owner of Ashley Lauren Beauty Lounge in Westchester, New York, and Briana Delvecchio, a color specialist and hairdresser at DiMatteo's salon, have noticed that some of their clients' hair has been thinning due to their weight loss journey. FOX News Digital Advertisement Before weight-loss drugs, traditional bariatric surgery would lead to the loss of 70% of excess body weight in about six months, Rabito said, which was often followed by hair loss within six to nine months. 'Your body doesn't understand that this is healthy weight loss — your body thinks it's starving,' he reiterated. 'It happens to almost everyone, to some people more than others.' Those who lose weight more repetitively are at higher risk of hair loss, Rabito said, as well as those who have an underlying thyroid issue or micronutrient deficiency, typically in iron, B12, or vitamin D. These vitamin deficiencies can worsen as weight loss occurs, so it's important to work with a medical professional to balance these levels, according to the doctor. 6 Delvecchio said that she's had 'a few' clients come in reporting thinner and drier hair, which she suspects could be due to weight-loss drugs. FOX News Digital 'From what I have learned from talking to these specific clients, it seems that the clients that are still eating don't have the hair loss,' Watt observed. 'It seems that my clients who say they don't have any appetite whatsoever are the ones losing the most hair,' she continued. 'I believe that's possibly due to lack of nutrients and protein, although I'm no doctor.' Tips for managing hair loss Advertisement DiMatteo and Delvecchio agreed they 'always' advise their clients to see their doctor for a vitamin level check. 'And we will also then taper their hair routine,' DiMatteo said. 'Basically, less is more during hair loss.' The salon owner suggested keeping up with scalp treatment, reducing the use of heat, brushing from the bottom up, and avoiding going to bed with wet hair. 'Check in with your weight-loss doctor or your endocrinologist prior to coming to us to rule out iron, vitamin D, or anything that you're lacking — we need to rule that out before we can help you,' Delvecchio said. Advertisement 'Then we'll tell you we need to work on your scalp health; we'll give you shampoo and conditioner that may be a little gentler for your hair.' 'Scalp stimulation is huge,' DiMatteo added. 'Rinsing with cool water helps as well. Try not to do harsher treatments in the sense of lightening or coloring — spread it out as much as possible.' Rabito noted that losing hair is 'part of the game.' He said he always warns his patients before starting their weight-loss journey that this will most likely occur and is a 'mark of success.' Advertisement 6 Dr. Philip Rabito (not pictured), an endocrinologist in New York City, said this reaction, called telogen effluvium, is a stress response to weight loss that affects the hair follicle. Wild Awake – 'They're going to lose hair,' he said. 'It's going to get worse before it gets better.' 'But as long as you get the vitamins controlled, get them adequately repleted — when the patient plateaus and the weight is stable for a month or two, the body doesn't sense starvation anymore, and the body is less stressed, then the hair grows back better than ever.' Watt said she often recommends a hair vitamin to her clients struggling with weight loss. 'Diet also has a lot to do with it,' she noted. Advertisement 6 When previously contacted, Novo Nordisk — the maker of Ozempic and Wegovy — confirmed that hair loss is an identified risk for semaglutide, and is listed as a side effect in the product information. mbruxelle – She also recommended using a shampoo and conditioner that are formulated to resist thinning and hair loss, along with a bond-building hair product. DiMatteo and Delvecchio assured those who are experiencing hair loss that regrowth does take time, and that there's no need for excessive hair growth treatments. Delvecchio added, 'The hair loss is temporary. It's a positive stress, and it's worth it.' 'Hair loss was reported more frequently in patients with greater weight loss (≥20%), suggesting that the events of hair loss were potentially related to the magnitude of weight loss.' 'Patient safety is of utmost importance to Novo Nordisk,' the statement continued. 'We are continuously monitoring the safety profile of our products and collaborate closely with authorities to ensure patient safety, including adequate information on hair loss.'

Dr Pepper Has Recalled Thousands of Cases of Soda

In perhaps the funniest mislabeling blunder ever, Pepsi Beverages Company is recalling over 19,000 cases of Dr Pepper Zero Sugar products because they actually do, in fact, contain sugar. Whoops! The Class II recall has a low risk of serious health consequences, but temporary or reversible effects may occur, according to the FDA. To date, no illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported. While the recall pertains to a large amount of product, the sodas in question were only distributed to retail locations in three states—Florida, South Carolina, and Georgia. The affected products were packaged in 12 fl oz. aluminum cans in both 12-pack and 24-pack cartons and have a "best by" date of February 16, 2026 and product code XXXXRS05165. While the average consumer might not have issues with accidentally consuming these mislabeled products, the error could indeed pose health risks for people with diabetes or anyone with conditions instructed to monitor their sugar intake. A can of regular Dr Pepper contains 39 grams of sugar, while Dr Pepper Zero Sugar, obviously is meant to contain zero. The latter does, however, contain artificial sweeteners and additional ingredients like aspartame, acesulfame potassium, and sodium phosphate. Good thing we have a doctor in the house. All recalled products should either be thrown away or returned to your place of purchase. You Might Also Like Can Apple Cider Vinegar Lead to Weight Loss? Immigration crackdown impacts Myrtle Beach tourism industry

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — As the White House cracks down on immigration, the head of a local immigration services agency claims hotels and restaurants in the Grand Strand are taking a hit, due to a shortage of cleaning staff. Based in Myrtle Beach, A&B Immigration Services assists immigrants on their paths to citizenship, and helps local companies hire seasonal employees during peak tourist season. Most companies A&B works with hire cleaning staff for hotels and restaurants. The owner of A&B, who chose to remain anonymous, told News13 there is not only an uptick in deportations, but also in visa denials. 'The small businesses, like the staffing companies and cleaning companies, they have suffered significant loss. Owners are even closing up their businesses and are looking for employment themselves, because they depend on the international workers during the peak seasons,' she said. 'We noticed this year that a lot of the individuals, whether they're J-1 and H-2b workers that are applying for the work visas overseas, that at the US embassies, there's an uptick in denials.' She emphasized that A&B encourages taking a legal path to citizenship, and claims the immigration crackdown has put up more barriers for legal immigration. 'We dealt with having workers come to the United States legally and going home, and [the immigration crackdown] has an effect on it. [In] a lot of immigration situations, you're talking about undocumented, but it's not only undocumented, it's immigration as a whole,' she said. 'People who are trying to get here legally, they're unable to because of the climate.' The owner of A&B Immigration said because some hotels are struggling to hire cleaning staff, it's become difficult for them to accommodate the number of people booking rooms. A News13 reporter spoke with a hotel manager on Ocean Boulevard, who said there is an 'everything shortage' in the hospitality industry. * * * Shelby Martin is a multimedia journalist who joined the News13 team in May 2025.
