Vir Das: Fool Volume Trailer Promises Chaos, Comedy And Cross-Continental Sass

Last Updated: Vir Das returns with his new Netflix special, "Vir Das: Fool Volume," premiering July 18. Filmed in Mumbai, New York, and London, it showcases his signature multi-city format. After charming the world (and bagging an International Emmy while at it), Vir Das is back to what he does best — this time louder, bolder, and funnier than ever! Premiering on July 18, the trailer of his upcoming show Vir Das: Fool Volume is finally out. Filmed across Mumbai, New York, and London, this one's not just a comedy special, it's a cross-continental rollercoaster! View this post on Instagram A post shared by Netflix India (@netflix_in) This Netflix special reintroduces the comedian's signature multi-city format that stitches together stages, cultures, and moods. What's different this time around, you ask? Just weeks before filming the biggest show of his career, Vir lost his voice — literally and creatively. What came next was Fool Volume: his most self-aware work to date. Armed with his trademark blend of wit, heart, and just enough irreverence to keep your parents nervous, Vir takes on everything from silence and self-doubt to rediscovering joy. It's a comedy that doesn't just punch up, it reaches out. Talking about his new special, Vir Das says, 'This special is a journey across countries, cultures, and a whole lot of internal chaos. For me, comedy has always been more than just punchlines — it's about connection. Whether you're in London, New York, or Mumbai, laughter sounds the same. This special is a celebration of that shared language — of finding joy in the chaos, meaning in the absurd, and kindness in the noise. If someone watches it and feels a little lighter, a little more understood, or just laughs until their stomach hurts — that's the magic I'm chasing." While sharing the official trailer on his Instagram, Vir wrote, 'Indian comedy gets loud and it's not messing around. Shot in multiple cities across the world, International Emmy-winning comedian Vir Das is back to make you laugh, think, and feel all the feels with his brand-new special. Watch Vir Das: Fool Volume, shot by an Indian crew on three continents, out July 18, only on Netflix." Earlier, while announcing one of the biggest shows of his life, Vir had shared, 'Netflix and I were about to shoot a special with a different theme. The universe had other plans. I lost my voice two months before that show. This is a show rewritten in silence and performed without rehearsal across the world. Turns out the voice in your head is way crazier than the one in your throat." View this post on Instagram A post shared by Vir Das (@virdas) This marks Vir's fifth Netflix special, making him the first Indian comedian to reach that milestone. With global successes like Abroad Understanding, Losing It, For India, and his International Emmy-winning special Landing, each show has pushed Indian comedy further onto the world stage. Vaani Kapoor Opens Up On Gen-Z Actresses Breaking Stereotypes

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Vaani Kapoor has opened up about the changing landscape for women in cinema. She highlighted how a new wave of actresses is breaking barriers by embracing adrenaline-charged, high-octane roles. Kapoor praised this shift as a sign of growing strength, confidence, and versatility among female performers in the industry. The 'Shamshera' actress shared, 'A new wave of actresses is breaking barriers, taking on adrenaline-charged roles, showing that raw strength and deep emotion can thrive side by side on screen. Indian actresses are now fearlessly leading the action genre, something that was long overdue, and we're finally seeing a shift in the landscape.' Vaani Kapoor, who is all set to make her OTT debut with Netflix's thriller 'Mandala Murders,' also believes that actresses are getting meatier and more substantial projects on streaming platforms, which offer greater creative freedom and nuanced roles. Talking about her OTT debut, she stated, 'I was looking for something incredibly special and challenging to mark my debut on Netflix streaming, and I'm glad I found Mandala Murders, where I'm venturing into bolder territory and taking centre stage in a thriller that pushes me both physically and psychologically. It is a genre I've never explored before. Taking this fearless leap has challenged me to discover new layers of intensity, grit, and vulnerability, which I believe are essential for truly compelling storytelling.' The 'Shamshera' actress added, 'I love streaming because an actress gets more meatier projects and roles to show our craft on screen, which is more often very limited when it comes to theatrical movies, as it's mostly centred around our male actors.' On a related note, 'Mandala Murders, a first-of-its-kind mythological crime thriller series, is directed by Gopi Puthran. Bankrolled by YRF Entertainment, the show also features Vaibhav Raj Gupta, Surveen Chawla, and Shriya Pilgaonkar. The mystery thriller is set to premiere on July 25 on Netflix.
