Orlando Pirates transfer news: Lorch, Maema, Shalulile, Saleng
New coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has indicated that he is willing to trim the squad down but will he have space for new players?
From the look of things, the Moroccan coach could very well loan out a few more players in order to manage the squad. Players such as Thabiso Lebitso and Olisah Ndah might move elsewhere to get gametime.
Which players can Orlando Pirates still sign?
Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Neo Maema has been impressive with Bafana Bafana in CHAN and is definitely caught the eyes of many teams. He might be an option for Pirates, given that the club signed Sipho Mbule.
Another Downs player that the Buccaneers could pounce on is Peter Shalulile. The 31-year-old has been linked with a move away from Chloorkop having been starved of gametime. This past weekend however, the Namibian international was in the matchday squad for Sundowns' league opener against Chippa United.
Another player Orlando Pirates can sign is Thembinkosi Lorch. 'Nyoso' spent nearly 10 years with the Buccaneers before joining Downs early in 2024. The Move flopped and Lorch was then loaned out to Wydad Casablaca where he impressed.
He could be an option for Ouaddou if Relebohile Mofokeng decides to leave.
Monnapule Saleng has joined Orbit College on loan this season from Pirates. His coach Pogiso Makhoye is confident that the winger will regain his form which saw him become one of Orlando Pirates star players.
'With Saleng, we're just giving him the love and making sure that he fully enjoys the game again,' Makhoye told FARPost .
'So we are making sure that he's surrounded by happiness, and I think the boy is enjoying the game. I can say he's feeling loved again, and everyone is just making things easy for him to accommodate him. I can say, come the start of the season, you are going to see the difference, Saleng, because he's happy.'
If Saleng finds form, he could be recalled by Orlando Pirates in January.
