Rising Welsh star Harry relishes major challenge

Harry makes her major tournament debut in France having qualified thanks to her fine form in her rookie season on the Ladies European Tour (LET).

The 22-year-old only turned professional last year in order to try her luck in LET qualifying school, where she finished second to claim her card for 2025.
She already has an LET title to her name, having won the Hulencourt Women's Open last month, with two further top-10 finishes helping her seal a place at the Evian Championship.
Harry's tour victory also guarantees her a spot in the Women's Open at Royal Porthcawl - where she is a member - starting on 31 July.
"I never thought in my rookie year I'd be getting into a major, let alone two majors and one at my home course," Harry said.

"I am definitely super nervous. I have not played a major before so I don't really know what to expect.
"But I'm looking forward to a new challenge and to see how it is out there."
Harry, from Dinas Powys, triumphed by three shots at the Hulencourt Women's Open, which was staged in Belgium.
It was just the eighth LET event for a player who gave a glimpse of her potential by finishing sixth in only her second event at the level, the Australian Women's Classic.
Harry also finished fourth at the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open - which came immediately after her victory in Belgium – with a five-foot putt on the last ensuring that she had enough ranking points to claim her Evian Championship place.

"That was a really nice finish," Harry said.
"It was really nice to see that I didn't just go and crumble after the win. My confidence levels are nice and high now and I've been given the encouragement to keep going."
Harry's promising start to life on the LET continued with a 17th-placed finish at last week's Irish Open.
At the Evian Resort this week, Harry will play alongside Thailand's Pajaree Anannarukarn and Germany's Helen Briem - with her first round beginning at 08:48 BST on Thursday.
Her goal is to claim a place on America's LPGA Tour – and this week will offer a first chance to compete with many of the star names who are based on the other side of the Atlantic.

"I am looking forward to seeing what the next level is for me," Harry said.
"I've not played against a lot of LPGA players before. That is my dream, to be on the LPGA, so it will be learning curve for me, a chance to see what I need to improve to compete against them."

Inter Milan Legend Urges PSG & Italy Megastar To Join Man City Amid Nerazzurri Interest: 'If I Was Him, I Would Go To Guardiola'
Former Gianluca Pagliuca has urged PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to join Manchester City amid Inter Milan rumors. Speaking to La Stampa via FCInter1908, Pagliuca offered his verdict on the goalkeeper's uncertain future. Gianluigi Donnarumma has entered the final 12 months of his contract at the Parc des Princes. Indeed, he signed a lucrative four-year deal when he joined the club from AC Milan in the summer of 2021. Donnarumma currently earns around €11.5 million net per season. Meanwhile, Les Parisiens have offered him a new contract worth around €8 million per year. As expected, the 26-year-old has no intention of accepting such terms. Therefore, he could leave Paris at the end of next season as a free agent, with Inter contemplating a move. Despite Donnarumma's past ties with Milan, the Nerazzurri view the Italy captain as a genuine target. However, they face fierce competition from Manchester United. On the other hand, Gianluca Pagliuca has offered different advice to the star keeper. Gianluca Pagliuca Urges Inter Milan Linked Gianluigi Donnarumma to Join Man City LONDON, ENGLAND – APRIL 29: Gianluigi Donnarumma of Paris Saint-Germain celebrates after teammate Ousmane Dembele (not pictured) scores his team's first goal during the UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Semi Final First Leg match between Arsenal FC and Paris Saint-Germain at Emirates Stadium on April 29, 2025 in London, England. (Photo by) 'I don't understand why they signed Chevalier,' Gianluca Pagliuca said. 'Donnarumma played a huge part in winning the Champions League. 'He was decisive in almost every match. Unfortunately, he was only untested in the final against Inter. 'He's the best in the world. I think he could be worth a few million more in wages. 'I imagine they couldn't agree on a contract extension for financial reasons. 'The accusation that he can't play well with his feet? I remember Luis Enrique's interviews after the games against Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Arsenal. He praised him, saying he's an extraordinary goalkeeper. 'I would've understood such a move in the past, when there had been some problems and criticism was relentless. 'But after this triumphant season, it makes no sense. The issue is financial,' he added. 'If I were him, I'd jump at the chance to join Guardiola. 'Or he could also calmly stay at PSG for another year, take his chances, and then leave on a free in a year's time. Maybe to Inter.'

Tottenham's Yves Bissouma left out of Super Cup final squad due to disciplinary reasons
Yves Bissouma has been left out of Tottenham Hotspur's squad for the UEFA Super Cup final against Paris Saint-Germain due to disciplinary reasons. Tottenham's new head coach Thomas Frank told the media at a press conference ahead of Wednesday's game against PSG that Bissouma has been punished for poor timekeeping. Advertisement 'He has been late several times and now this latest time was one too many,' Frank said. 'With everything, you need to give your players a lot of love but also have demands and there also need to be consequences and this time there was a consequence for that. 'For me, there has been a consequence and that is for this trip. I will follow up on that when I come home. I will park it for now because there is a relatively important game tomorrow.' This is not the first time that the Mali international has been in trouble since he joined Spurs from Brighton in June 2022. The midfielder was suspended by the club for their first game of the 2024-25 season after video footage appeared on social media that appeared to show him inhaling nitrous oxide. Following a 2-0 defeat to Fulham in March, when Bissouma was substituted at half-time, then head coach Ange Postecoglou said that he allowed 'games to drift him by.' Bissouma started Spurs' Europa League final victory over Manchester United in May but his future is uncertain with less than 12 months left on his contract. Joao Palhinha's arrival on loan from Bayern Munich only pushes Bissouma further down the pecking order and this incident will not have helped him to convince Frank he deserves an extension. The positive news for Spurs is that Dominic Solanke is available to feature against PSG. The England international has only played once for Spurs in pre-season back on July 19 when they beat Reading 2-0. He travelled with the squad for their pre-season tour of Hong Kong and South Korea but was unable to play due to an ankle injury. Frank said that left-back Destiny Udogie is 'getting closer to training with the group' too. Spot the pattern. Connect the terms Find the hidden link between sports terms Play today's puzzle
