Radio host Matt Pinfield had a ‘massive stroke,' daughter confirms in conservatorship bid

Radio host and former MTV personality Matt Pinfield suffered a stroke earlier this month, and it has taken a toll on more than his professional obligations, according to his daughter.
Jessica Pinfield, the former music executive's 38-year-old daughter, said in legal documents filed this week in Los Angeles County Superior Court that her father, 63, is now 'incompetent' to make decisions about his health and finances. She filed a petition Monday to become conservator of her father and his estate. According to legal documents, the elder Pinfield 'suffered a massive stroke on January 6, 2025.'
A representative for Pinfield, also known for his stint as a video jockey on MTV, confirmed to The Times that he remains hospitalized and is under a temporary conservatorship. The rep did not share additional information about his condition.
TMZ reported that Jessica Pinfield and her sister, Maya Pinfield, 24, sought the order to protect their father's money from being accessed by people outside the family. A legal representative for Jessica Pinfield did not immediately respond to The Times' request for comment.
Matt Pinfield said in an Instagram post shared Jan. 6 — the same day as his stroke — he was 'starting another week with gratitude for a life surrounded by great people, life changing music, and unforgettable experience that I never take for granted.'
He added: 'Here['s] to another week - another day - open heart and open mind. Let's rock!'
A day after Pinfield's stroke, Los Angeles radio station KCSN the SoCal Sound (88.5 FM) announced on Facebook that its afternoon host would 'take a temporary leave of absence for personal reasons.' The post did not mention Pinfield's health.
'We fully support Matt and hope to have his energetic rock n' roll knowledge back on air soon,' the station said.
Radio station KLOS (95.5 FM) also reportedly shared support for Pinfield, who hosts its 'New & Approved' program Sunday nights. 'Matt is a family member, and we look forward to having him back on the KLOS airwaves as soon as possible,' the statement said.
An initial appointment hearing for Pinfield's conservatorship case is set for Feb. 6.

The best and worst looks from the 2025 Tony Awards

Broadway's biggest stars gathered for the most exciting theater event of the year on Sunday: the Tony Awards. Cynthia Erivo hosted the 2025 Tonys at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The evening was full of live performances, including a medley of "Hamilton" songs performed by the original Broadway cast. The attendees included stage actors, Hollywood stars, and even influencers. Some attendees came dressed to impress in ball gowns and statement suits, while others' outfits fell flat. Take a look at the best and worst looks celebrities wore to the 2025 Tony Awards. Lea Michele's tuxedo dress was effortlessly chic. Michele walked the red carpet in a black tuxedo dress designed by Michael Kors. The neckline dipped low, and a slit cut the skirt on one side, creating a sexy and balanced look. Michele also let the dress speak for itself, wearing black heels and simple jewelry. Cecily Strong's floral ensemble was too busy. Strong wore a floor-length, long-sleeve coat dress designed by Badgley Mischka. It had a pretty silhouette, with its collared neckline, belted waist, and full skirt. However, the green dress was covered in an array of hot pink flowers from head to toe. The pattern was overwhelming to the eye, and the look might have been better if Strong wore the coat unbuttoned with an unpatterned shift underneath it to break up the colors. Cynthia Erivo arrived to host the Tonys in a gown with an intricate bodice. Schiaparelli designed Erivo's taupe gown, which had a regal feel that set the tone for her role as host of the evening. The gown's column skirt had a sheen to it, while the off-the-shoulder bodice was covered in sparkly, floral beading. The neckline hovered around Erivo's frame, playing with structure. Meanwhile, the bodice on Katie Holmes' dress didn't look cohesive with her skirt. Holmes wore a custom Prada ensemble to the Tonys. The look featured the two main colors associated with "Wicked," as it had a high-neck, green blouse and a column-style pink skirt adorned with sparkly beading. The two garments looked like they belonged to different outfits, and the green top in particular felt too casual for the Tonys. Holmes could have stood out on the red carpet if she had paired the skirt with a better top, but the look fell flat as it was.

First Lady Of Fashion: Michelle Obama Announces New Book, ‘The Look'

Source: Tom Williams / Getty Michelle Obama served the people and served lewks. As FLOTUS, she set a new standard for first ladies as the first Black woman to hold the position. Now, she is walking us through how she did it in The Look. This coffee-table style book, co-written with her stylist Meredith Koop, will revisit the ways she amplified artists like Jason Wu and Prabal Gurung by wearing their designs. It will also highlight how she promoted affordable American retailers like White House Black Market and H&M as First Lady #44. Obama faced unprecedented scrutiny during her time as first lady of the United States. The first lady is an unofficial title but it is one that comes with heavy expectations. Her brand of Black beauty did not fit into the picture of what some people thought should represent our nation. She was criticized for wearing shorts on Air Force One and having the nerve to display her snatched arms. RELATED: Michelle Obama's Braids Made A Powerful Statement At The DNC The backlash she faced was dripping with racism. People couldn't fathom that there was not a dowdy, dour, individual seated at the side of the then head of state, President Barack Obama. Every strand of her hair on her head and spot of makeup on her face was up for debate by some. Source: Pool / Getty Others held Michelle Obama in high esteem. They mounted her pictures in barbershops, beauty salons, and funeral parlors. Seeing her appear elegant and poised in that position motivated them. Obama shared what inspired her to give her take on the time period in an Instagram post announcing the upcoming book release. 'During our family's time in the White House, the way I looked was constantly being dissected—what I wore, how my hair was styled. For a while now, I've been wanting to reclaim more of that story, to share it in my own way. I'm thankful to be at a stage in life where I feel comfortable expressing myself freely—wearing what I love and doing what feels true to me. And I'm excited to share some of what I've learned along the way,' she wrote. Obama previously penned the New York Times bestseller, Becoming . She has been sharing her experiences with the public on the IMO podcast she co-hosts with her brother, Craig Robinson. She pulls back the curtain on the other side of some of her most unforgettable moments in the public eye. Source: Drew Angerer / Getty 'My new book, The Look , comes out on November 4. It's a reflection on my lifelong journey with fashion, hair and beauty. Inside, you'll find some of the outfits that have meant the most to me, but more importantly, the moments that I lived through in them—big and small, personal and political, historic and ordinary—that were as memorable as the clothes themselves,' she continued. Obama selected gowns, suits, and sweater sets that sent a message with the help of a team. She is shining a light on their efforts with this new project. 'You'll also get to know the incredible team that supported me through it all and defined my look—my thoughtful stylist @MeredithKoop, my talented makeup artist @CarlRayMUA, and my wonderful hairstylists @YeneDamtew and @KitchenTalkwithNjeri. Each of them brings their own story, heart, and perspective to this journey,' she wrote. Stylists like Law Roach, Jason Bolden, and Wayman + Micah have helped change ideas about what elegance looks like in this country. These are the visionaries that expand palettes by pushing boundaries and subtly making change one piece of fabric at a time. ' The Look is about more than fashion. It's about confidence. It's about identity,' Obama continued writing in the caption. She ended by expressing her desired impact for the project. 'It's about the power of authenticity. My hope is that this book sparks conversation and reflection about the ways we see ourselves—and the way our society defines beauty.' You can pre-order The Look now here.
