Legendary 00s band announce huge tour after cancelling Glastonbury slot
The iconic 00s metal band will kick off their run of UK shows on February 12 in Birmingham before performing in Glasgow, Manchester, Dublin, and Cardiff, ending in London on February 20.
The tour comes in support of the band's upcoming album, Private Music, which is their first release in five years.
They marked the tour news with the release of a brand new single, My Mind is a Mountain, the first song from their upcoming tenth studio album.
Tickets go on general sale at 9am on July 18, while fans who pre-order private Music from the band's official UK/EU store will get early access.
Denzel Curry and Drug Church will support Deftones on all shows of their UK and EU tour.
It comes after the My Own Summer hitmakers were forced to cancel their appearance at this year's Glastonbury Festival due to illness.
In a statement shared on their Instagram Story, they said: 'In an unfortunate development, an illness in the band is going to prevent us from playing Glastonbury tonight.
'We're devastated to be missing out on something we've been looking forward to for months, but sometimes circumstances out of our control interfere with things we want to do the most.'
Their show the following day at Crystal Palace Park, supported by the likes of Weezer, went ahead as planned.
Skepta stepped in to replace the band at the Worthy Farm event.
Deftones – made up of vocalist Chino Moreno, lead guitarist Stephen Carpenter, and drummer Abe Cunningham, and keyboardist and turntablist Frank Delgado – formed in Sacramento, California, in 1988 and went on to release their debut album Adrenaline in 1995, featuring singles 7 Words and Bored.

The word-of-mouth success of the release was amplified by the band's second studio release, Around the Fur, which became their first album to be certified both gold and platinum by the RIAA.
White Pony was released in 2000, featuring lead single Change (In the House of Glies) which remains Deftones' most commercially successful single, peaking at number three on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart, and number nine on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. More Trending
Elite, which also featured on the album, won a Grammy Award for best metal performance.
Tragedy hit the band in 2008 when original bass player Chi Cheng was involved in a traffic collision, which left him in a minimal state of consciousness until his death in 2013.
Deftones recruited Sergio Vega to replace Cheng, appearing in recorded work as well as touring with the band until his departure in 2021.
The band has released nine studio albums, with 2020's Ohms going on to be nominated for a Grammy Award and receiving overwhelming critical praise.

Andy Carroll breaks silence on Lou Teasdale row as he shares huge relationship update
It's been a rollercoaster of a relationship for former England star Andy Carroll and celebrity hair stylist Lou Teasedale, with the pair now hoping to move forward together Andy Carroll and Lou Teasedale are working on their relationship after a series of booze-fuelled rows caused them to reportedly split up. Former Premier League star Andy, 36, was said to have been desperate to make amends with mum-of-one Lou, after he was allegedly questioned by police during a trip to Greek party island Mykonos. The final straw for Lou, 41, was said to have taken place during this year's Glastonbury in June, which saw yet another bust-up between the pair. They had gone to Worthy Farm for a weekend away and to celebrate their one-year anniversary after meeting at the festival the year before. But Lou left the festival early, leaving former Liverpool striker Andy there alone. It was also rumoured that Andy had initiated the break-up, but it emerged earlier in the week that it was actually Lou who called time on their romance. It comes after Andy Carroll 'splits from Lou Teasdale due to her demands' weeks after public row. However, the pair appear to have turned it around and are making an effort to patch up their rocky relationship with the hope of moving forward together. Andy has admitted he's been going through a tough time, with his divorce from TOWIE star Billi Mucklow causing him stress, but he loves Lou and her family. Speaking to the Sun, Andy revealed: "Some of our rows have been about alcohol, as Lou has been teetotal for 14 years and I have a beer or wine at dinner and a drink after the game, but it's not a problem in my life. 'I'm a professional footballer and that's not the case. I play sports every single day, so my level of fitness is really good. I play football every day, so I'm fit.' Andy also addressed an incident in which he and Lou were reported to have argued at a Mykonos restaurant, resulting in police arriving to question the star. He insisted it had nothing to do with alcohol and that the pair were actually arguing about him "having three coffees in the morning." The footballer, who has recently signed for Dagenham & Redbridge FC, said that Lou was concerned he had a caffeine addiction. A joint statement from them at the time said: 'Whilst having a private dinner in a restaurant on a quiet holiday in Mykonos, we had a heated discussion of the sort that most couples have had on occasion. 'It quickly became apparent to the police that there was no reason for them to be there.' It added: 'As far as we are concerned, the situation has been blown out of all proportion by an interested member of the public. 'No one was arrested, and no one was charged with anything. We are very happy, in love and looking forward to our future together, and we are disappointed that a private disagreement has become a public matter.' The incident, in a packed restaurant, was witnessed by staff and members of the public. One worker at the Nikolus Tavern said of the first argument: 'We recognised him as the footballer Andy Carroll immediately. He seemed very drunk and furious with his partner. He was using very bad words. It was improper behaviour. The woman looked very upset.' The Sun reported that a source said: "After the restaurant episode, there was another incident at the hotel. This time, the footballer went to the police station. We know the woman stayed somewhere else that night.' Meanwhile, a British holidaymaker who reportedly spotted the pair while out for a stroll accused Andy of being "very drunk" adding that he shouted at Lou: "I'm done with us!"

Lewis Capaldi reveals an A-list singer ghosted him after 'super' night out
Lewis Capaldi may be a celebrity, but even he has been ghosted… by another celeb! (Picture: Matt Baron/Shutterstock) Lewis Capaldi may be one of the biggest names in pop right now, but he's still susceptible to ghosting like the rest of us. The Someone You Loved hitmaker recently returned to the music scene after an extended break to focus on his mental health. Lewis came back with a bang, performing to thousands upon thousands of adoring fans at this year's Glastonbury Festival, having just dropped his latest single, Survive, in which he bravely sings about his struggles. And while he's back on the press circuit, ahead of kicking off his UK tour next month, Lewis has been lifting the lid on some of his showbiz friendships. Alas, when it comes to US megastar Justin Bieber, after an epic night out together, Lewis was met with radio silence. Speaking to Chris Stark for Capital Breakfast, the 28-year-old revealed he and Justin, 31, exchanged numbers at a star-studded bash, but he did not hear from the Baby singer again. The singer confessed that he was ignored by pop star Justin Bieber after a night out (Picture: Capital Breakfast) Lewis sent the Biebs a text, hoping to strike up a friendship (Picture: Capital Breakfast) 'It was amazing,' Lewis said of the event. 'There was famous people, Charli XCX was there, Justin Bieber was there. 'Justin Bieber comes over and said, 'Hey, man, what's going on?' And I said, 'You don't remember my name?' And he said, 'Of course I do, you're Lewis Capaldi'.' 'Me and Bieber had this super night together, like really lovely evening together,' Lewis continued. 'We didn't spend the night together, but we hung out and I'm like, 'me and the Biebs are gonna be best pals, this is huge.' 'And he's like, 'Man, make sure I get your number tomorrow.' And I was like, 'Me and the Biebs, this is huge!'' Unfortunately, Lewis didn't quite get the lovey-dovey response he was hoping for after sending a message of adoration to JB. 'If you're out there, Bieber, wherever you are, text me back, please' (Picture: Matt Baron/Shutterstock) Justin aired him! (Picture: Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic) 'I text him maybe the most sucking-up-his-a**e text. I said, 'Just wanted to jump on, bro, last night was so special, great guy, so nice to hang out with you, such a dude.' 'He likes it and doesn't reply. So if you're out there, Bieber, wherever you are, text me back, please. Bieber aired me.' Lewis's recent comeback has been received extremely warmly by his fans, who sobbed as he, too, broke down on the Worthy Farm stage in 2023, unable to finish his set due to a Tourette's flare-up. At the time, he was still navigating living with the condition, apologising to the audience as they sang the lyrics for him. Ahead of his return this summer, the award-winning star was heavily rumoured to be the surprise performer, as cryptic signs promoting his new music appeared in various locations. But that doesn't mean Lewis wasn't nervous, as he recently confessed to 'convulsing' backstage at another secret gig before heading out for his first performance in two years. Lewis recently returned to music after a two-year break (Picture:) He was greeted by thousands of screaming fans as he played a surprise Glastonbury set (Picture: EPA) 'A few weeks prior to that show, we were playing in Chicago, and I had a very similar episode—probably even worse,' he told This Past Weekend with Theo Von. 'I couldn't come back and finish a song. I was backstage, convulsing and having this crazy panic attack. Way worse than what happened at Glastonbury (in 2023).' Fortunately, Lewis was able to power through his nerves and anxiety, which he has spoken openly about, to make it to Glasto, having admitted his breakdown in 2023 was probably 'the best thing that's ever happened' to him, as it meant he then had time to 'go and get help and fix [himself] for the next two years'. During his time out of the spotlight, Lewis has been going to therapy to learn how to manage his Tourette's, with which he was diagnosed in September 2022. He's also overhauled his physical health, having drastically reduced his alcohol intake and switched from antidepressants to antipsychotic medication, which he believes has made a difference. 'It's changed my life,' he said of his new meds. 'My anxiety levels are so low these days. I don't feel the stress.' After being forced to release more tickets due to astonishingly high demand, Lewis wrote on Instagram: 'honestly didn't expect this at all… genuinely had no idea what to expect after taking a break for so long so be seeing this tour sell out faster than any tour i've ever played is the most incredible surreal feeling ❤️ thank you to every single one of you who got a ticket and i'm very sorry to any of you who wanted to come and missed out this time.' He added: 'there won't be any other shows for now, want to make sure I don't push myself too far too soon. means more than ya know how many of you were waiting to get tickets this morning x' Got a story?
