Two form one students plead guilty to slapping classmate in Kajang
They made the plea after the charge was read out to them before Magistrate Fatin Dayana Jalil.
Since the two boys, who were accompanied by their parents, are minor offenders, the proceeding was held in camera.
The court set Sept 18 to hear the probationary report on the two boys by the Social Welfare Department (JKM) before sentencing them.
The two boys were jointly charged with behaving indecently by slapping the victim, who is also 13 years old, in a public place to disturb the peace at a shopping mall near here, at 11 am on July 30.
They were charged under Section 14 of the Minor Offences at, read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code,
The boys, represented by lawyer Lee Tee Kiat, were allowed bail of RM500 each with one surety.
Deputy public prosecutor Siti Nur Alia Safri appeared for the prosecution. - Bernama

Jinori said he identified the post on a Facebook account on July 30, which alleged Mohd Arifin's child was involved in the incident. 'Mohd Arifin's child never attended the school in question. This accusation is completely untrue and could create negative public perception,' he explained. He urged authorities to investigate the Facebook account, which also claimed the student was the granddaughter of the Sabah Head of State and the child of Mohd Arifin. Both Banjimin and Jinori requested legal action under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, Sections 499–500 of the Penal Code (defamation) and Section 504 of the Penal Code (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace). They further called on the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to act against the account owner and those spreading the defamatory content. Besides the named account, they identified several others uploading identical content and have submitted details to relevant parties. The leaders hope all state and federal authorities, including cyber law enforcement agencies, will take appropriate measures to protect the reputation and safety of the slandered parties, especially concerning the dignity of state leaders and the institution of the Sabah Head of State.

Fear of missing flight leads Chinese national to injure KLIA officer
KUALA LUMPUR: Fear of missing her flight led a Chinese national to injure an immigration officer during a departure inspection at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on Wednesday. A source said that at the time of the incident, the woman was with family members, including her two children, at the immigration counter. "The woman and her family arrived late at the immigration counter as they were rushing to catch their flight home to Pudong, China, at 7.25pm. "At the counter, the woman was asked to step aside for further checks as there was no record of her entry into Malaysia," the source said. According to the source, anger and fear of missing the flight caused the woman to suddenly create a commotion by raising her voice, pulling the headscarf of the officer on duty, and forcefully pushing the officer's head against a pole in front of the counter. "The woman was detained after the officer sought assistance from other officers on duty," the source added. Meanwhile, Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar, when contacted, confirmed this. "Yes… the delay was due to the need for further checks, which angered the woman. "She and her family were in a hurry as they feared missing their flight," he said. Yesterday, the Chinese national was arrested for acting aggressively and injuring an immigration counter officer during a departure inspection at KLIA. Police investigate viral Facebook video by 'Akmal Salleh' for hate content
GEORGE TOWN: Police are investigating a viral video posted on Facebook under the name 'Akmal Salleh' for allegedly containing hate speech. Penang police chief Datuk Azizee Ismail stated that the video included statements that could incite public alarm and disrupt order. A report was filed in Bukit Mertajam on Aug 12 regarding the video, prompting an investigation under the Sedition Act 1948 and Penal Code. Azizee confirmed that Bukit Aman's Special Crime Investigation Unit has taken over the case. Two police reports have been lodged so far in connection with the viral video. The Facebook account in question is believed to belong to UMNO Youth Chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh. Muhamad Akmal confirmed on Facebook that he was contacted by Bukit Aman to provide a statement at Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters. - Bernama
