The singer, 29, known for hits including Dance The Night and Levitating, has ousted Shape Of You singer Ed Sheeran from the top spot, ending his three-year run at number one.
Sheeran, 34, who recently shared details of an eighth studio album, now sits at number three with US pop star Taylor Swift the second most played artist of 2024.
Lipa said: 'It's a real honour to be named the most played artist in the UK for the second time.
'2024 was an incredible year and I'm so grateful to everyone who has supported my music on the radio, TV and in venues around the country. Thanks also to PPL for continuing to support artists and our music.'
Lipa, who has won several Brit Awards and three Grammys, headlined Glastonbury Festival last year shortly following the release of her third studio album Radical Optimism.
She is the youngest person to feature on this year's Sunday Times 40 Under 40 Rich List, making her one of the wealthiest musicians in the UK.
Lipa has racked up seven years of airplay on UK radio and TV, with her music played an average of 400 times per day, according to PPL data.
Her 2018 hit single One Kiss with Calvin Harris remains her most played song of all time, averaging 55 plays per day across UK radio and TV.
She previously appeared at the top of PPL's most played artist chart in 2020, the same year she released the album Future Nostalgia, which contains hits Don't Start Now and Hallucinate.
Her 2024 single Houdini, which went to number two on the UK chart, features on PPL's list of most played tracks of that year, coming in at number six.
Leading the charge at number one, however, is Noah Kahan's Stick Season, which spent seven weeks at the top of the UK singles chart last year.
This is followed with Lose Control by US artist Teddy Swims at number two and Beautiful Things by Benson Boone at number three.
British singer Myles Smith, who was named Brits Rising Star ahead of this year's Brit Awards, features at number five with his song Stargazing.
Peter Leathem, PPL chief executive, said: 'Congratulations once again to Dua Lipa for leading PPL's most played artist chart, and to Noah Kahan for securing the most played track of the year.
'British artists continue to perform well, making up 70% of the top 10 – proving they have staying power across the nation's broadcasters, businesses and public spaces.
'It is also fantastic to see fresh UK talent such as Myles Smith make a big splash in the top five most played tracks, showing there is plenty of promise in UK music going forward.'
PPL licenses the use of recorded music on radio, TV and in public places across the UK, including shops, bars, restaurants, gyms, offices and warehouses, and receives extensive airplay reporting data from such broadcasters and public performance venues.

Iconic TV show to return after 22 years - with Holly Willoughby lined up to host

Iconic British TV show Blind Date is reportedly set to return to screens 22 years after it last aired - with a huge twist Iconic dating show Blind Date is reportedly set to return to screens 22 years after the late Cilla Black 's final episode. For months, it was rumoured the ITV show would be revived on the BBC. However, in a huge shake-up, the reboot will reportedly air on streaming service Disney +. The ITV show originally aired on Saturday nights from 1985-2003, and saw hundreds of couples meet for the first time. Like most dating shows, many didn't last past the studio doors - but some made it all the way to the alter. Now, a new bunch of singletons will be hoping to find their perfect date. ‌ A star studded line-up of female hosts are being eyed up to step into Cilla's shoes, including Holly Willoughby, Davina McCall and The Traitors ' Claudia Winkleman. ‌ Although there will be some "modern twists" to the revival - bosses are said to be keen to keep some of the original features that viewers know and love. Of course, they couldn't get rid of the iconic sliding wall. 'Although there's likely to be some modern twists, the bosses very much want to keep the essence of the original," an insider told The Sun. 'There'll be key elements returning, including the famous sliding wall. 'Plus there will be a prize up for grabs of a wedding package, which echoes Cilla's famous gag whenever couples had enjoyed a successful date, and she used to ask, 'Do I need to buy an 'at for the wedding?'' However, it is unknown whether the show will provide a replacement for voiceover Graham Skidmore, aka 'Our Graham'. ‌ The Mirror has contacted Disney + for comment. It won't be the first time the show has been revived. In 2017, the show return on Channel 5, two years after the death of original host Cilla Black - with Paul O'Grady replacing the late host. Melanie Sykes also joined the show as a replacement for 'Our Graham' providing the iconic voiceover. The show ran for four series until June 2019. Two issues that brought Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson to a breaking point as actress was ‘desperate' for it to work

DAKOTA Johnson was 'desperate' for her and Chris Martin to work out and was often left in tears by their on/off romance, a source has claimed. The actress, 35, and Coldplay singer, 48, were engaged for years after first being linked in 2017 but never made it official. 5 5 5 PEOPLE revealed on Wednesday that they have broken up again, with an insider saying, "It feels final this time." Dakota was last seen with Chris in Malibu just two weeks ago, and they were also seen holding hands in India during Coldplay's recent tour in January. But they have now called it quits and will be focusing on their respective careers. A source told The U.S. Sun that the 13-year age gap and the topic of children had often caused problems. "Dakota has been desperate for her and Chris to work out for years, and every time they broke up she was devastated and in tears," they said. "Even some of Dakota's team would have to console her when they were apart and she could never move on. "She really loves him and his children, and he deeply loves her, but things were just never lining up for them and it was very up and down. "They really tried to work through their issues but the age gap was often a problem and she'd expressed that she may want children in the future, whereas Chris is kind of done with that part of his life but they discussed it." It'll be hard for both of them to move on." A source told The U.S. Sun They added that they had been "back and forth on issues for years" and tried to figure out a future. "They made some beautiful memories as a family and it'll be hard for both of them to move on after such a long relationship but they will do it," they said. It's believed the pair now feel it's time to start a new chapter but will remain on good terms amid the breakup. The U.S. Sun has reached out to Dakoke and Chris's reps for comment. Dakota is currently focused on her acting career as she is set to appear in the new rom-com The Materialists alongside Pedro Pascal and Chris Evans. She spoke about relationships in an interview with the Los Angeles Times this week while promoting the upcoming movie. Dakota said, "For a long time we've all been so quick to judge relationships or how they should happen, how they should exist in the world. When people should get married. Divorce is bad. All these things that actually, if you think about it, why is divorce bad?' she said. 'Why do people have to get married, or at a certain age or only once? Why? It doesn't matter." Chris famously split from actress wife Gwyneth Paltrow in March 2014 after more than a decade of marriage. He reportedly got engaged to Dakota some years ago and she called his kids her "step-children". Chris, shares daughter Apple, 21, and son Moses, 19, with his ex Gwyneth, 53. A complete timeline of Chris and Dakota's relationship The pair sparked dating rumors in 2017 after meeting through friends. In January 2018, they stepped out in public together for the first time and were seen going for walks on the beach in Malibu. Later that month, Dakota's famous dad Don confirmed their romance and said, "She's a big girl; she can handle herself." In September 2018, their whirlwind romance stepped up when they got matching tattoos. Weeks later, TMZ falsely reported they were expecting a baby and Dakota said, "The only thing I'm pregnant with is a lot of really good ideas." In 2019, they split for the first time - but reunited just two months later. The following year Chris gave Dakota the honor of directing his music video for Coldplay's hit Cry Cry Cry. Over the years, they were faced with further rumors of trouble in paradise. In December 2021, Dakota spoke about life with Chris in an interview with Elle, saying, "We go out sometimes, but we both work so much that it's nice to be at home and be cozy and private." In 2024, it was reported they had been secretly engaged for years but had split again. They brushed off the rumors at the time by putting on a united front and their rep insisted, "They are happily together." Dakota spoke of her close relationship with Chris's kids in an interview with Bustle. She said, "I love those kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart. "How do I feel about motherhood? I'm so open to that. "I've gotten to this place where I really want to experience everything life has to offer. 'And especially being a woman, I'm like: 'What a magical f***ing thing to do. What a crazy, magical, wild experience. "If that's meant to happen for me, I'm totally down for it. "We're not here for very long, so if I'm meant to be a mother, bring it on." Dakota also has the seal of approval from Gwyneth, who attended her 30th birthday party. She said about Chris and Dakota, "I love her. "I can see how it would seem weird because it's sort of unconventional. "But I think, in this case, just having passed through it iteratively, I just adore her. "I always start to think of the —what else can you bring in, instead of being resistant to or being made insecure by?" She explained, "It's not like there's a finish line: 'Oh, we consciously uncoupled; we're done.' "It's a lifelong commitment to constantly reinvent your relationship with your ex, which you do presumably because you have children together. "I don't see a reason to do it if you don't have children together. Some people do. "But I think we put all the hard work in at the beginning. I would say very rarely is it difficult now." 5

Aimee Lou Wood and Walton Goggins on ‘ridiculous' feud rumours

The White Lotus co-stars Aimee Lou Wood and Walton Goggins have both denied rumours that either of them are in a feud as 'ridiculous'. There has been speculation that the two co-stars had drifted apart after being on the HBO show, which follows the lives of guests and staff at a luxury resort as dark secrets are revealed and tensions rise over the course of the holiday. The third series sees the positive Chelsea, played by British actress Wood, 31, try to keep her mysterious older boyfriend, Rick, played by 53-year-old US actor Goggins, calm in Thailand. Following the 2025 series, Goggins appeared to step away from his fellow co-stars, and unfollow Greater Manchester-born Wood on Instagram. They both addressed the swirling rumours during a joint interview for US publication Variety, which was published on Wednesday. Goggins said: 'There is no feud. I adore, I love this woman (Aimee) madly, and she is so important to me.' He added that 'she's special', and explained he had not addressed the reports before as he did not want to talk about Wood when she was not there. 'I think it's such a comment on where we're at culturally. Why is everyone obsessing over Instagram? That is irrelevant. We don't give a shite about Instagram,' Wood said. Goggins said that when he finished The White Lotus he 'needed to just back away from everyone', as it is his 'process' when filming a project ends. 'It's all so ridiculous,' he said. 'It's just a part of me just saying goodbye to this character so that now Aimee and I will be friends for f****** ever.' Wood previously criticised a Saturday Night Live sketch, with an cast member impersonating her with exaggerated prosthetic teeth, calling it 'mean and unfunny' on Instagram. She told Variety that it 'felt misogynistic. It felt like the punchline was a woman's appearance, which is just not funny. It's not cool'. Goggins shared the same sketch online and praised Jon Hamm for playing a version of his character, before deleting the Instagram post, ahead of hosting SNL> He said he was 'gonna say it (something) to your face', and added: 'I don't use social media in any way, and I'm not a mean guy.' SNL apologised for the April sketch, according to Wood, and the comedian and cast member who impersonated her, Sarah Sherman, sent her flowers to apologise. Wood is also known for Netflix teen show Sex Education, BBC comedy Daddy Issues and the 2022 drama film Living with Bill Nighy. Goggins has been in Western series Justified, post-apocalyptic series Fallout, and drama Sons Of Anarchy. He has had two Emmy nods, while Wood has won a TV Bafta for Sex Education and been given a Rising Star Bafta nomination.
