Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman celebrated his daughter Raheema's graduation in Switzerland, sharing proud moments on Instagram and receiving congratulations from fans.
Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman recently took to Instagram to mark a major milestone in his daughter Raheema's life. The music icon's daughter has completed her graduation from the prestigious Glion Institute of Higher Education in Montreux, Switzerland, where she pursued a course in Hospitality, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation.
Rahman, currently on his Wonderment Tour across North America, paused to share a proud moment from his personal life. Posting a series of images from Raheema's graduation ceremony, he captioned the post, 'My little princess, Raheema, has graduated from the Glion Institute of Higher Education with a focus on Hospitality, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation. #proud-dad #womenleaders #alhamdulillah."
Take a look here:
The images include Raheema in her graduation gown and cap, a group photo collage, and a close-up of her certificate, which also highlighted her role as a 'Student Ambassador." The heartfelt post quickly drew congratulations from fans and peers across social media.
Raheema herself re-shared moments from the special day on her Instagram Stories, where she posed with classmates and friends. For the ceremony, she chose a beige co-ord set, opting for a minimal yet elegant look.
Rahman shares Raheema with his wife Saira Banu, whom he married in 1995. The couple have two other children — Khatija and Ameen. In 2019, Raheema and Khatija performed alongside their father at the U2 concert in Mumbai, showcasing the family's shared passion for music.
While Rahman and Saira Banu announced their separation in November 2024 after nearly three decades of marriage, they have continued to remain involved in their children's lives.
Back in 2019, Rahman had expressed admiration for his daughters' drive. 'They (Raheema and Khatija) have the toughest mindsets… So I keep telling them not to be worried about anything, just do it… God will bless you," he told ANI.
The Wonderment Tour, celebrating Rahman's musical legacy, will next move to the UK before wrapping up in India later this year.
