"Is it against the Constitution to communicate with Dalits": Mallikarjun Kharge slams Bihar govt
New Delhi [India], May 15 (ANI): Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge slammed Bihar's NDA government for allegedly stopping Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi by the Bihar police when he was on his way to the Ambedkar hostel in Darbhanga.
The Congress president asked if it is a 'sin' to talk about the employment and education of the Dalit and backward class students. Kharge further highlighted that there is a 'height' of dictatorship in the JDU-BJP Bihar government which prevented Rahul Gandhi to attend the 'Shiksha Nyay Samvad' program in Darbhanga.
'Now is it against the Constitution to communicate with Dalit, deprived and backward class students? Is it a sin to talk to them about their education, their recruitment exams and jobs? It is the height of dictatorship that the JDU-BJP government prevented Rahul Gandhi from attending the 'Shiksha Nyay Samvad' program at the Ambedkar Hostel in Darbhanga, Bihar. The birthplace of democracy, Bihar will remember this injustice and will give a befitting reply to JDU-BJP when the time comes', Mallikarjun Kharge's 'X' post said.
Rahul Gandhi also criticised the Bihar government and called them a 'Double Engine Dhokebaaz Sarkaar', while addressing a gathering in Darbhanga on Thursday.
The latter alleged that he was stopped by the Bihar Police on his way to Ambedkar hostel in Darbhanga and said that the central government is against democracy, the Constitution, and the minorities.
'The Bihar Police tried to stop me. But they could not stop me because your power (minority community) is watching over me. We told PM Narendra Modi that you have to conduct census... Under your pressure, PM Narendra Modi announced caste census in the country. Scared of your pressure, he placed the Constitution on his forehead. But their government is against democracy, the Constitution, and the minorities. This is the government of Adani-Ambani and not yours,' Rahul Gandhi said, addressing the gathering in Darbhanga.
'I guarantee that the moment our government forms in India and in Bihar, it will implement everything that you deserve,' he added.
In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi questioned Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar saying that since when did dialogue become a 'crime in the state.'
'NDA's 'Double Engine Dhokebaaz Sarkaar' in Bihar is preventing me from interacting with Dalit and backward students in Ambedkar Hostel. Since when has dialogue become a crime? Nitish ji, what are you afraid of? Do you want to hide the state of education and social justice in Bihar?' the Lok Sabha LoP said.
Rahul Gandhi's car was allegedly stopped by the Police from going to the event at Ambedkar Hostel in Darbhanga, before he got on foot to attend and address the students at the event at the hostel. (ANI)

The last assembly elections were conducted in three phases from October to November 2020. The National Democratic Alliance secured 125 seats in the previous elections. Prima facie those responsible, who have not fulfilled their responsibility properly have been suspended, " The Chief Minister on Thursday had announced the decision to immediately suspend the Circle Police Inspector of the Cubbon Park Police station A K Girish and Assistant Commissioner of Police C Balakrishna, Deputy Commissioner of Police of central division Shekhar H Tekkannavar, Additional Commissioner of Police Vikash Kumar Vikash, who is in charge of the stadium, and Commissioner of Police Bengaluru city Dayananda. The suspension order said, "It is found that there has been on the face of it substantial dereliction of duty by these officers." The stampede occurred on Wednesday evening in front of the stadium, where a large number of people thronged to participate in the RCB team's IPL victory celebrations. It said, the RCB and the Cricket Association went ahead to tweet about the celebrations and inviting the fans to Chinnaswamy stadium without going through the usual practice of issuing tickets or passes, and despite the knowledge of these developments and expectation of huge turnout of cricket fans by the Police, steps were not taken to either have the event organised systematically at the stadium or give adequate information to the public to take necessary precautions for their safety or provide additional Police force for appropriate crowd management. Further, the situation was not discussed with the higher ups for taking necessary guidance and advice in the matter. As a result, the situation went out of control and brought a lot of misery, loss of precious lives and embarrassment to the Government, it added.
