Huge pop star SCRAPS comeback album after winning string of awards for performances on stage
Last week she became the toast of theatreland when she was named Best Leading Actress at the Tony Awards for Sunset Boulevard.
2
Now I'm told the success has led her to scrap an entire record, titled Warrior, which she self-funded and created with producer Naughty Boy prior to landing her role as Norma Desmond in the hit musical.
My music insider said: ' Nicole spent a fortune from her own pocket working on this album.
'She was really driven and spent weeks in the studio with Naughty Boy and they came up with some really cool ideas.
'Things were really coming together and she was hunting for a team to release it when Sunset Boulevard came along.
'The plan was to revisit the album after the West End run finished last year, but the show ended up going to Broadway and now she has loads of exciting offers on the table.
'She is in a totally different place in her life from when she wrote the album, so it's been shelved.
'Nicole feels like it would make no sense to release it now, so long after they wrote the songs.
'She might still do something with the songs at some point, as a treat for fans, but at the moment it's been left behind.'
In April 2022, she debuted track Never Going Back which she said would be on an upcoming EP called Warrior.
But after getting back in the studio, she delayed the release and decided to turn the project into a full album.
She then teased that she had been working with her pal Naughty Boy, who has collaborated with Beyonce and Ed Sheeran.
It was due to be her first solo album since 2014's Big Fat Lie and came after the Pussycat Dolls' reunion and new music was scrapped.
Speaking last week, Nicole said: 'I'd love to do some interesting films, some really bold, daring roles.
"I'd love to do a movie musical. Music, still. I wanna just do stuff that shows all of me and continue to do singular stuff like this show is.'
With plenty of offers on the table, I'm sure we'll hear her singing again on stage or screen soon.
But when it comes to pop tracks, to quote her No1 hit, Don't Hold Your Breath.

Machine Gun Kelly theorizes he has ALIEN lineage after mother revealed she may have been abducted by UFO
Machine Gun Kelly suspects he may have an extraterrestrial background. The rapper, 35, revealed he has considered the possibility that he may have alien lineage thanks to several mysteries in his life, including his body's ability to quickly recover from injuries. Adding fuel to the theory, MGK says his mother suspects she may have been abducted by a UFO at one point - which may explain for the rapper's quirks. The can of worms was opened after MGK - real name Colson Baker - admitted he didn't know his true age during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live. 'It's a weird thing, dude, I don't know if my age, I don't know if it exists,' he said. 'Wow! You have a Mariah Carey connection to your age? Which is, it's very fluid.' Host Andy Cohen asked. 'I don't know many facts about my life, so I don't know, I'm starting to just be like, like my skin, like if it rips open, it heals really quick,' he said. 'How?' an intrigued Andy asked. 'There's just things where I'm starting to be like, "Who's my dad?"' MGK continued. 'Do you think that you could be like otherworld?' Andy asked. 'I've asked my mom, I said, "Any period of time you went like missing, off Earth?... Ever a tall, slender creature?"' he said. 'She told me she felt like she got abducted at one point.' 'So there may be something to this!' Andy said. 'No, there really is!' he said. 'I'm bad at talking, I shouldn't have came on a talk show.' MGK has had a strained relationship with his parents. The rapper was born in Houston to missionary parents, but his mom left home when he was young for another man. The musician became estranged from his mother, but they reconnected in 2022. MGK also endured a difficult relationship with his father for many years. His dad sadly passed away in 2020. The speculation about his heritage wasn't all MGK discussed on the show. The Beyond The Lights actor also had a dramatic three-word response to rumors he may have struck up a romance with Sydney Sweeney. Earlier this year the duo were seen getting close at the star-studded opening of the Palm Tree Beach Club at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The rapper was asked about the speculation during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live - and it was clear he didn't want to discuss the Euphoria star, 27. Viewer 'Kyle P.' submitted a question asking MGK about the matter, and the actor did not shy away from telling the curious fan exactly how he felt about the topic. 'MGK, Kyle P. wants to know if there's any truth you and Sydney Sweeney were more than just friends?' Host Andy Cohen, 57, asked, reading the viewer-submitted question. 'Kyle P., shut up dude,' MGK said, garnering laughter from the studio. The rapper sparked romance rumors earlier this year after they were seen chatting at the opening of the Palm Tree Beach Club at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas; Sydney pictured in Los Angeles earlier this month MGK and Sydney have known each other since starring together in the 2021 film Downfalls High, which MGK also directed. But in May, the pair looked extra chummy as they spoke with one another at the Las Vegas party. At the time, MGK had recently split from Megan Fox, with the couple welcoming their first child together two months prior (MGK also has a daughter with ex Emma Cannon and Megan has three kids with ex Brian Austin Green). In exclusive Daily Mail video, Kelly and Sweeney were seen getting close and chatting. They were also seen sharing a fierce embrace in photos obtained by Page Six. Not only that, but they made appearances in one another's social media accounts as they posted about the bash. Sydney appeared in a silly selfie MGK posted that also included Patrick Schwarzenegger and hairstylist Glen Oropeza. The selfie was one of several MGK included in a post that he captioned, 'stop what you're doing these pictures are v important.' The Euphoria star also posted the results of a snap she took with MGK and the White Lotus star. Sydney's love life has been making headlines ever since her breakup with longtime fiancé Jonathan Davino. The actress split from Jonathan earlier this year in January, but news of the separation didn't come to light until March.

Motley Crue's Vince Neil sparks health concerns with stiff performance
Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil sparked health concerns from fans with his stiff solo performance with a backing band at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, NY on August 3. The 64-year-old glam metal rocker was singing his 1987 hit Girls, Girls, Girls with a faraway expression in his eyes, which continuously darted down to read the lyrics off a teleprompter. 'Great to be back on stage rocking out the last three nights with my brothers Stephen Pearcy "Ratt" and @bretmichaelsofficial!' Vince - who boasts 2.2M social media followers - wrote on August 4. 'Thanks to all the fans that made it out. I hope to see you in Vegas this fall!' However, concertgoer Tara Adams uploaded the now viral footage to Instagram where user @70brand commented: 'He even looks like he doesn't want to be there.' Instagram user @b_r_i_a_n_7_6 scoffed: 'He's making Corey Feldman look good.' 'My god,' Instagram user @ marveled. 'He's reading the words from the stage.' 'This is sad, out of being concerned for Vince. No need to kick somebody when they're down. This is not good,' YouTube user @shawnstarks1743 wrote. YouTube user @jasonscott5101 commented: 'Damn! This band needs a singer.' 'Jesus Christ, Ozzy sounded better than this two weeks before he died,' YouTube user @thefilmlodge blasted. 'This is embarrassing.' Ironically, Mötley Crüe was unable to attend the late Ozzy Osbourne's final concert in England on July 5 because as bassist Nikki Sixx tweeted on July 10: 'We have been having health issues within the band…' Neil (last name Wharton) performed for the first time in nearly a year on August 1 at MGM Music Hall in Boston where he thanked fans for their patience. 'I had a medical thing that happened to me, and they said I wouldn't be back on stage again,' the three-time Grammy nominee revealed onstage. 'I said, "[expletive] that, man!" And I'm back and I'm with you guys tonight. And I'm really proud to be here, man. Thank you so much.' Vince took another blow last May when he ended his nearly 15-year relationship with girlfriend Rain Hannah 'because one of his assistants alleged she was cheating on him' - according to TMZ . Mötley Crüe kick off their postponed 10-date Las Vegas residency on September 12 at Dolby Live at Park MGM after having to reschedule due to Neil's recovery. The band's current lineup also includes bassist Nikki Sixx, drummer Tommy Lee, and guitarist John 5 - who replaced founding member Mick Mars in 2022. The 74-year-old bass player - who retired due to ongoing health issues - is now suing his bandmates for unpaid royalties. Mötley Crüe - which averages 11.5M monthly listeners on Spotify - was founded in 1981, and they've sold over 100M records worldwide including nine Top 10 albums on the US Billboard 200 chart. The Dogs of War singer went solo from 1992-1997 and released three studio albums.

Taylor Swift gets ultimate revenge on nemesis Kanye West with new album The Life of a Showgirl
Taylor Swift 's newly announced album The Life of a Showgirl hasn't even dropped yet, but social media users are convinced it contains a sly jab toward her longtime rival Kanye West. After announcing her latest project earlier this week, fans of the pop star, 35, couldn't help but notice the title's striking similarity to West's 2016 album The Life of Pablo. One TikTok user was quick to point out that when you start typing the title into Apple Music, Swift's record, now, appears before West's. Adding fuel to the theory, the record's cover art features orange tones, the same color palette as The Life of Pablo. 'Am I going crazy or did anyone else notice that??? and his album was orange … bye she's perfect,' the TikToker wrote. The comments section backed them up, with one fan declaring, 'MASTERMIND,' and another adding, 'She really is a mastermind and I love that about her lol.' The 14-time Grammy winner and rapper's infamous beef began at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, when West stormed the stage during her acceptance speech for Best Female Music Video to argue that Beyoncé deserved the trophy instead. West emerged on the stage and took the microphone from Swift, telling her, 'Yo, Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'mma let you finish. But Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all-time! One of the best videos of all-time.' While the musical stars appeared to be on better terms in the years following - they were pictured at a number of events in the years after - things blew up after the release of Kanye's 2016 song Famous. West claimed at the time that Swift had given him her blessing to refer to her as a 'B****' in the lyrics of the song, in a reference to the VMAs incident. Swift said she never made such an agreement, leading to a public feud with West after he and his then-wife Kim Kardashian who publicly accused Swift of lying, before leaking a partial phone call between the two. Later, a leaked video appeared to have proven Taylor told the truth about her phone call with West over his controversial song. The new clip that surfaced on social media appears to show West didn't consult Swift about the 'b****' lyric, and only asked her about the other line in the song, which was previously mentioned by Kardashian While defending themselves in the past the former couple did not mention the 'b***' lyric, apparently because they knew the phone conversation with Taylor did not touch upon it. One TikTok user was quick to point out that when you start typing the title into Apple Music, Swift's record, now, appears before West's In the footage which was shared on X, West can be seen informing Swift he is writing a song about her and asked her if she could add hype to the song by tweeting it out. West tells her: 'It has a very controversial line at the beginning of the song about you.' West then told Swift she 'sounded sad', and the singer questioned if the lyrics were 'mean', to which he reassured her he didn't think they were. Explaining the context to the lyrics he explains: 'It says, uh... and the funny thing, when I first played it and my wife heard it, she was like, "Huh? What, that's too crazy," 'And then when Ninja from Die Atwoord hear it, he was like "Oh my god, this is the craziest s**t, this is why I love Kanye..." and now, it's like my wife's favourite f***ing line... I just wanted to give you some premise of that.' He then says the lyric: 'To all my Southside n***as that know me best / I feel like Taylor Swift might owe me sex.' Swift laughs and says: 'That's not mean.' 'OK, well this is the thing why I'm calling you, because you got an army, you own a country of motherf***ing 2bn people, basically,' West says. 'If you felt that it's funny and cool and hip hop, and felt like it's the College Dropout and Ye that you love, people would be way into it, and that's why I think it's super genius to have you be the one that says, 'Oh I like this song a lot... this is cool.' Swift then tells West she needs some time to think about it, adding: 'When you hear something for the first time you need to think about it, because it is absolutely crazy.' There is no mention West would call her a 'b***h' or suggest he 'made her famous' during the phone call. In a separate clip which is circulating on Twitter which appears to be from the same call, Swift tells him: 'I [sold] a full 7m of that album before you did that, which is what happened.' In 2019, Swift revealed to Vogue that she dealt with the high-profile scandal by channeling her pain and anger into her material. 'A mass public shaming, with millions of people saying you are quote-unquote canceled, is a very isolating experience,' she said of the difficult time. 'You're sending mass amounts of messaging to this person to either shut up, disappear, or it could also be perceived as, "Kill yourself."' As she navigated the scandal, which inspired the tracks This is Why We Can't Have Nice Things and Look What You Made Me Do, Swift explained she 'immediately' knew she had to 'make music.' 'I knew it was the only way I could survive it,' Swift told the outlet. 'It was the only way I could preserve my mental health and also tell the story of what it's like to go through something so humiliating.' In December 2023, Swift slammed Kardashian for 'taking her down psychologically' and forcing her into hiding. 'I moved to a foreign country. I didn't leave a rental house for a year. I was afraid to get on phone calls,' she said during her interview for TIME Magazine's Person of the Year. During that period, she all but vanished from the public eye, something that she says came as a result of the Kardashian and West fallout. 'I pushed away most people in my life because I didn't trust anyone anymore. I went down really, really hard.' 'I thought that moment of backlash was going to define me negatively for the rest of my life,' she explained. Yet, in the years that followed, Swift's career has only gone from strength to strength - while West has disgraced himself by making anti-Semitic remarks.
