On today's Beyond The Gates recap:
Andre's Place: Dani meets up with Andre and tells him the upsetting story of her encounter with Hayley. Dani guzzles a glass of wine and gives him all the details about the bleeding and went to the hospital with some stranger because she couldn't stand to be in the same car as her. Andre calms her down saying Hayley could be at the hospital right now and the baby could be fine.
Dani remembers she should call Bill as it's the only way to get an update. He answers and Bill says Hayley is at home, but the baby is gone. Dani breaks down in tears. Afterwards, she thinks she is a monster as she would have bet her life Hayley was faking. Dani blames herself for everything, but Andre says none of it is her fault.
Andre tells Dani to lean on him. She knows she's made this situation very one-sided. She is ready to have a serious conversation.
Bill and Hayley's Place: Hayley tells Bill and Naomi she lost the baby. They hug but Naomi clearly finds this news suspect. Bill can't believe they released Hayley so quickly. Hayley stops her husband saying they released her because there wasn't anything else to do. She promises she will be ok but Bill is far from. He asks Naomi to stick around while he makes some tea.
Naomi wants to know why Hayley faked an ultrasound and wonders if her father is mourning a baby that doesn't exist. Hayley says she lied saying there was no ultrasound. She pulled the picture from the internet. Naomi accuses her of faking the whole thing. Hayley says she really was pregnant, but Naomi can't make sense of her story.
Hayley explains when Dani took her to the hospital the last time, she was terrified she was losing the baby. She refused the ultrasound because she was afraid it would reveal the baby was gone. Hayley knows she was stupid to fake the ultrasound, but it stopped Bill's questions and allowed her to keep pretending. She asks if Naomi will tell Bill, just as he walks in. Naomi jumps up and covers for Hayley.
Joey's Gambling Pit: Vanessa promises Joey that Doug will not be a problem. He still cares what happens to her and won't do anything to harm his wife. Joey thinks Vanessa is amazing but wonders if Doug is immune to her charms. She says their affair plays a part in Doug's spiral but Joey isn't buying what she's selling. Vanessa doubles down saying he doesn't have to give Doug another thought.
Orphey Gene's: Doug opens a burner phone and calls Randy. He is surprised to find his friend in the next booth. Doug asks why in the world he's in town and Randy says he had business, which Doug thinks means woman problems. Randy is evasive and asks what Doug wants. He says it's time for them to take down Joey Armstrong. Randy thinks his friend has lost his damn mind. Doug says the plan is simply murder.
Doug outlines the details of Vanessa's affair with Joey and Randy is devastated for his friend. He now understands why he has an itchy trigger finger. Doug doesn't really want Joey dead but to suffer. Doug brings up Joey commissioning Randy to commit murder. Even though something went wrong, Doug can't imagine Joey didn't use someone else to finish the job. If Randy squeals, Joey could go down for murder one.
Randy laughs and reminds Doug that Joey owns the cops. He knows he has Malone in his pocket along with a few spares. Doug thinks they could go around the cops to the DA.
Uptown: Jan walks in looking for Derek. She says Ashley is slipping through his fingers. Derek says he tried everything he could to seal the deal with Ashley, but she turned him away. Jan says her daughter got scared and it's her fault because of her own relationship issues. Derek goes on to say he can't get beyond Ashley's interest in Andre. Jan reminds Derek that he is the person who loved her through everything and should not give up so easily.
Ashley's Pad: Ashley completes her exercise routine and flashes back to her conversation with her mother and with Andre. She implores herself to make a decision.
Ashley is surprised when Derek arrives. He explains about his encounter with Jan who came looking for her. Based on their conversation, Derek is there for the last time to try again. He wants to be her hero and doesn't think he should be punished for not experiencing the things Andre has. Derek asks if there is any chance, they can still make things work.
Ashley says Derek gave her everything she ever wanted and when she got it, she wanted to run. Ashley wants to be safe with Derek but also wants to throw caution to the wind, which Andre represents. Derek says he will do everything to give Ashley her dreams as she is his. What he won't do is continue to go back and forth. With that, he gives her the forever or never ultimatum.
Endings
Bill feels so badly he wasn't there for Hayley and pulls her into an embrace.
Randy hates his role in what Joey did to Doug. He agrees to the plan but says it needs to go his way. Doug tells Randy about the bug Joey put in his car and Randy thinks they can use it to their advantage (oh no…).
Joey goes off on Vanessa for telling Doug about the bug. Vanessa explains she needed Doug to know how serious the threat to him was. She says she will never see Doug the same way after getting involved with Joey but would be very sad if he ceased to exist.
Derek returns to Uptown and tells Jan that Ashley turned him down and chose Andre.
Andre tells Danii how amazing she is and lights up every room she enters. The two embrace and Dani thanks him for his support. She kisses him and they begin to undress just in time for Ashley to see. She shuts the door, and Andre thinks he heard something. The interruption allows them to think twice about having sex. She asks if he can just hold her through the night as she doesn't want to be alone.
