"I have a crazy f**king budget": Adin Ross teases lavish Streamer awards shows

Time of India2 days ago
Image via:In his usual controversial manner, Adin Ross is once again generating hype: His current boast is of having a "crazy f**king budget" for a streamer awards show. Ross first aired the idea a few months back, but now, more recently, he has asserted his intent to build the awards show of his own in 2025.
A New Era of Streaming Recognition?
In another of his broadcasts in February, he had this to say: "I have a very big budget. I'm going to create my own streamer awards. But so I am not biased, I will not be allowed to win any awards... I want you guys to help me create the best award show possible." These comments put Ross in direct competition with Blaire 'QTCinderella,' who currently operates the largest streamer awards ceremony in the field, but more importantly, Ross is suggesting that he is going to do it "the right way.
"
Filling the Gaps Left Behind by the Current Scene
If some discord arises, it is a disappointment for the QTCinderella Streamers Awards, whose affairs have come into public glare ever so lately among Twitch and YouTubers. Emiru's 2023 scandal, herself having refused to attend the ceremony in 2024 may have just put some emphasis on some cracks in the show's nomination process. Of late, Emiru has been nominated for the "Streamer of the Year" and other honors of prestige; however, she expressed unhappiness with her omission from the Sapphire Award, which is meant to honor female streamers.
Beyond Twitch: A Kick-Backed Production
After being permanently banned from Twitch in 2023, Ross moved to Kick, a platform offering looser moderation and hefty creator incentives. Fully hosted in the Kick world, Ross makes it known he wants to go against established streaming norms, not just with content but with infrastructure-powered gigs like award shows and events.
'I spoke with Eddie,' said Ross during his stream, referring to Kick co-founder Eddie Craven.
'We're going to do it big.'
xQc Reacts to Adin Ross Announcing he's Starting his Own Streamer Awards to Compete with QTCinderela
His objective is to create a streamer-centric awards show that is cleaner of all politics, cliques, and favoritism, according to him. Ross will not be in a position to win any awards himself, thereby cutting out bias from the awards and empowering the community itself to take charge of the show.

NDTV Exclusive: Adah Sharma On The Kerala Story Bagging Two National Awards, "We Have The Blessings Of The Victims"

New Delhi: The winners of the 71st National Film Awards were announced on Friday. The Kerala Story bagged two Awards, best director for Sudipto Sen and best cinematography for Prasantanu Mohapatra. In an exclusive interview with NDTV's Hardika Gupta, the actress reacted to the big news and said that she feels "blessed." "Sudipto sir, Vipul sir and Prasanthanu sir didn't think of awards or applause while making the film. It was just to tell the stories of those who didn't have a voice. The audience then became our voice and turned this film into the highest-grossing female film of all time," she shared. Adah added, "We have the blessings of the victims, their families and the audience and now two national awards. I feel blessed. Scenes from the movie impacted people so much that even now, when I meet people at events, airports, they have tears in their eyes when discussing the scenes. As an actor, I got to be part of this historic film and play the role of a lifetime." The film, starring Adah Sharma in the lead role, was released in 2023 and sparked widespread debate across the country over its subject matter. Despite facing criticism, The Kerala Story emerged as a box office success. The film focused on the alleged ISIS recruitment of women in India and was at the centre of political discussions upon its release. Sudipto Sen said the film was often misinterpreted due to the political climate, especially around the use of the word "Muslim." He began developing the project in 2012, and his Kerala-based collaborator Ambika JK had been associated with the research since 2010. The film starred Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani and Siddhi Idnani in key roles. The Kerala Story is currently streaming on Zee5.
