No meeting planned in Delhi between Rahul with CM, Dy CM
Answering a question by the media on a possible meeting as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Dy CM Shivakumar are in New Delhi over developments in the state, he dubbed them 'purely imaginary.'
'I have no knowledge of any such meeting of LoP Rahul Gandhi with the Karnataka CM and Dy CM. Yes. the CM and Dy CM are in Delhi in order to raise issues concerning people of Karnataka and the state government' Surjewala stated.
'There is designed discrimination and hatred in BJP and the Union government for the people of Karnataka for voting them out'. 'That hatred gets manifested in denial of permission for various projects such as the Kalasa-Banduri project and the Mekedatu project by the Centre,' he said. 'Our GST funds are denied, our share in the Finance Commission is denied. It is the duty of the CM and Dy CM to go to Delhi and raise the issues,' Surjewala stated. When asked about truck owners on indefinite strike over pending dues of over Rs 250 crore and halt in the transportation of Anna Bhagya free rice, Surjewala stated that he had taken note of the development.
'I have spoken to the Chief Minister and Minister concerned. They said that they would speak to the truck drivers soon and all outstanding payments would be released in a time bound manner,' he stated.

'He always remembers how Smt Indira Gandhi and Smt Sonia Gandhi were elected from Karnataka, and how the state has stood by the Congress at every critical juncture,' Siddaramaiah said. He added, 'The Gandhi Family, including Shri Rahul Gandhi, remain deeply indebted to the love showered by the people of Karnataka, and our AICC President Shri Mallikarjun @kharge is a proud Kannadiga.' The Chief Minister also accused the BJP of betraying Kannadigas by denying Central funds. "While Shri Rahul Gandhi remains committed to bringing positive, transformative change in Karnataka, the @BJP4India has betrayed Kannadigas by denying the funds we rightfully deserve. Even when Karnataka suffered devastating floods, the Prime Minister @narendramodi did not utter a word," he said. Key features of Maharashtra security bill: Jail up to 7 years, Rs 5 lakh fine
MUMBAI: Imprisonment of up to seven years, a fine of up to Rs 5 lakh, and classification of offences registered under it as cognisable and non-bailable are key features of a special bill passed by the Maharashtra legislature to curb activities of Left-wing extremist organisations. The Maharashtra Special Public Security Bill, 2024, passed in the council on Friday and in the assembly on Thursday, has introduced strict measures against individuals and organisations involved in activities declared as "unlawful". It will come into force on receiving the Governor's assent. The most serious offences, such as committing, abetting, or planning unlawful activities on behalf of such organisations, are punishable with imprisonment of up to seven years and a fine of up to Rs 5 lakh. Since all offences under the law are cognisable and non-bailable, the police can arrest individuals without a warrant, and courts are not obliged to grant bail, the bill states. These actions are punishable with imprisonment ranging from two to seven years. Even individuals who are not members (of outfits banned under the new legislation) but are found to be contributing money, soliciting funds, or sheltering members of such organisations can face up to two years in jail and a fine of up to Rs 2 lakh, it stated.
