Funny Coronation Street blunder as character accidently uses co-star's real name

An awkward mishap has been spotted on Coronation Street when actress Sally Carman, known for her role as Abi Webster, accidentally addressed a fellow character by the actor's real name during the latest episode of the ITV soap, which airs on Virgin Media in Ireland.
The blunder was seemingly missed by the show's editing team and made it through to the broadcast. The gaffe took place at the Rovers Return Inn, specifically during Christina Boyd's Bingo night, when Abi went to fetch drinks from the bar. Instead of calling Jenny Bradley by her character's name, she said: "Cheers, Sal."
This slip of the tongue saw Sally Carman inadvertently using Jenny's real-life name, Sally Ann Matthews. One particularly observant fan caught this error and mentioned that Sally Ann Matthews seemed to flash an understanding smile following the misnaming incident.
They commented on X, which was previously known as Twitter: "That's too funny! And it looks like Sally (Jenny) genuinely smiled like she caught it", reports Plymouth Live.
Another, who shared a clip of the error which has racked up nearly 20,000 views, wrote: "i'm crying, does she say 'cheers sal' and they kept it in?"
Someone else suggested: "given they're both called Sal maybe it's an in joke, carla once called leanne Jane."
Others simply wrote, "BIAHAHAHAH" and "I AM DEAD".
Meanwhile, during the same episode, Jenny Bradley foiled an underhanded plot by Christina, successfully exposing her attempted theft in the midst of the pub's patrons. Subsequent to Christina's deceptive tactics being uncovered, the police were summoned resulting in her arrest as friends and family looked on.
Following closely after this event, viewers will see Daisy Midgeley, played by Charlotte Jordan and the daughter of Christina, making her departure from the show. Daisy is expected to make a rather understated exit, leaving behind the world of Weatherfield in the backseat of a taxi cab presumably headed for new adventures.
A source alleged to The Sun: "Charlotte's decision to quit Corrie was leaked at a time when the show was going through a bit of a crisis. When the news broke the narrative was very much, she's moving onto bigger and better things which raised quite a few eyebrows on set."
The insider continued: "No one ever wants to leave in the back of a cab, but that's exactly what's happening with Charlotte. They're not killing her off, but she leaves after burning all her bridges with step-mum Jenny Bradley."
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on Virgin Media.

The actress plays Ms Sigsby in the adaptation of Stephen King's novel of the same name, the director of a shady institution that kidnaps children before putting them through horrifying experiments and dishing out torture in the hopes of them developing telekinetic and telepathic powers. The series director Jack Bender told me: 'Mary Louise's character is evil, and the villain, and even more so coming, let me tell you!' She's joined by Ben Barnes in the series, as former police officer Tim Jameson, and Martin Freeman's son Joe, as main character Luke Ellis, a super-smart 12-year-old with telekinetic abilities. And for Joe, the most intimidating part of the new role wasn't getting to grips of the horrors of what happens to Luke, but getting to grips with being on set away from his family. He joked: 'I felt intimidated landing in Canada. I didn't know anybody on the whole continent.' The Institute airs on MGM+ from July 13. Chatting to TV Biz on the set of ITV's Celebrity Catchphrase, Stephen revealed a secret behind Roy's famous 'It's good… but it's not right' saying, which he'll never emulate. Stephen said: 'The reason he used to say that is he never used to wear an earpiece to the production team. 'So the floor manager would give him a thumbs up if the answer was right, or a thumbs down if it was wrong. 'So to give him more time, Roy would go, 'it's good..' wait for the floor manager to go down or up… then 'but it's not right' or 'and it's right!'. Which is amazing, really, isn't it? 'I find it fascinating that Noel Edmonds, Roy, Bruce Forsyth, all those legendary performers and presenters never wear earpieces. 'They just don't like it. Brucie never did it, even on Strictly.'
