Iran Denies Missile Launch as Israel Threatens Strikes on Tehran Over Ceasefire Violation

Ahmed Emam
Iran's Armed Forces General Staff has denied launching any missiles toward Israel in recent hours, pushing back against reports of aggression amid growing regional tension.
Earlier, Israel's public broadcaster, citing a political source, claimed that Iran had violated the ceasefire agreement and warned that Tehran would "pay the price."
In a swift response, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Tuesday that he had instructed the military to launch a strong retaliation. 'The army has been directed to carry out powerful strikes against targets in the heart of Tehran,' Katz said, according to Alqahera News Channel.
Echoing this stance, Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi vowed a forceful response, stating that Iran would be heavily targeted for its alleged breach of the truce.
The latest exchange of accusations threatens to unravel an already fragile ceasefire, as both sides trade blame amid heightened alert. The situation remains fluid, with the potential for rapid escalation.
International calls for restraint have grown louder, with concerns mounting over the risk of a broader regional conflict that could destabilize the Middle East and derail ongoing diplomatic efforts.

Egypt's FM, Water Minister Review Regional Water Coordination

H-Tayea Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Hani Sweilam met to coordinate regional and international efforts on water issues and strengthen cooperation with Nile Basin countries. The ministers reaffirmed Egypt's long-standing support for development in Nile Basin states, particularly in the southern basin, and reviewed existing cooperation mechanisms, including a $100 million financing initiative for infrastructure projects such as dams, as well as the work of the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development and the Egyptian Nile Basin Development Initiative. They discussed recent joint visits, including to Uganda, and opportunities for further projects to safeguard and optimize water resources, citing examples of previous work in Sudan, South Sudan, Kenya, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, and Tanzania. These include solar-powered groundwater wells, river ports, water storage facilities, rain forecasting centers, and flood protection projects, with total funding of $100 million. On Nile issues, the ministers said Egypt is committed to cooperation and mutual benefit with basin countries while safeguarding its water security. They called for adherence to international law in managing the Nile and rejected unilateral measures in the eastern basin, adding that Egypt will take all lawful steps to protect its vital water interests. They agreed to maintain close coordination on planned projects, including the MabanKana hydropower dam in the DRC, to be financed through Egypt's new funding mechanism for southern basin infrastructure. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid Videos & Features Story behind Trending Jessica Radcliffe Death Video News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt News The Jessica Radcliffe Orca Attack? 100% Fake and AI-Generated
