Brad Pitt cracks a rare smile on the set of his Cliff Booth movie following the passing of his mother

Daily Mail18 hours ago
Brad Pitt reported for work Tuesday on the set of his latest film two weeks after the death of his mother.
The actor, 61, has been working on David Fincher's film The Adventures of Cliff Booth, the sequel to the Oscar-winning Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood for Netflix.
The versatile star was seen wearing his 1970s era costume, that included a brown suede jacket, gray jeans and a necklace of white Pooka shells.
The actor, who has been sporting closely cropped hair an a beard while promoting F!: The Movie earlier this summer, appeared to be wearing a blonde wig and was cleanly shaven, except for a mustache.
The day's shoot appeared to be taking place in a public space and security guards could be seen working hard to keep onlookers from getting too close to the star.
The actor was 'being his usual professional self despite this personal tragedy,' a source told People.
Pitt has not made any public mention of his mother's passing at age 84, on August 5, but he was thinking about her while promoting F1 on Today in June.
'I gotta say hi to my mom because she watches you every morning,' he told the hosts.
He then blew a kiss following it with 'To Jane Pitt. Love you, Mom.'
Pitt is reprising his role as Cliff Booth, the preferred stuntman for Leonardo DiCaprio 's TV star Rick Dalton, in Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood..
DiCaprio is not listed as a cast member on the show's IMDb page, which describes the plot as showcasing 'more of Cliff Booth's backstory in his new role as a Hollywood fixer.'
Timothy Olyphant is up for a part in the new story, but wouldn't confirm or deny he had been hired after seemingly spilling the beans on Conan O'Brien's podcas t August 7.
'I'm hoping I'm in it,' the Justified star said, adding, 'You never know. It only is what it is.'
Writer and director Quentin Tarantino, 62, who received Academy Award nominations for directing and writing the 2019 show business dramady, will not be helming this project.
Tarantino wrote the script, but he turned over directing duties to his friend David Fincher, 62. 'I think me and David Fincher are the two best directors,' he said recently on the Church of Tarantino podcast.
'So the idea that David Fincher actually wants to adapt my work, to me, shows a level of seriousness towards my work that I think needs to be taken into account.'
Tarantino, who said he will retire after his next film passed on this one because he didn't want it to be his swan song.
'It just kind of unenthused me,' he explained. 'This last movie, I've got to not know what I'm doing again. I've got to be in uncharted territory.'

Trump blares ‘Whiter Shade of Pale' and shows off umbrella flown from Mar-a-Lago in bonkers tour of White House Rose Garden

Donald J. Trump transformed into DJ Trump as he blasted music while reporters were treated to an unusual tour of the White House 's new patio, according to pool reports. The president took control of the aux cord and pumped his fist while he was testing the new speakers in the Rose Garden — where a new patio was just put in — for "what will be the best event in the history of the White House," Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Tuesday, according to a pool report. The next party is "hopefully soon." Procol Harum's "Whiter Shade of Pale" blared at one point, fitting background music for Trump's second term that has included attacks on diversity, equity and inclusion and an anti-immigration push. Other songs that made the president's playlist included Pavarotti's "Nessun dorma' as well as Elvis Presley's "Are You Lonesome Tonight" and "You Are So Beautiful,' according to the report. Videos captured by journalists and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino capture an unrecognizable Rose Garden. Its notable green grass has been replaced by concrete covered by white tables and chairs underneath white and yellow striped umbrellas. The president suggested that the first White House party on the new patio would be for the press, Leavitt said.

CBS plunged into huge crisis as beloved Survivor star who's appearing on reunion contest embroils herself in ugly scandal

CBS faces a nightmare over its new Survivor show after its star contestant Stephenie Lagrossa Kendrick went on a late night anti-Semitic Instagram rant. Stephenie Lagrossa Kendrick, who has appeared on the long-running show 3 times — and recently returned from filming the show's upcoming landmark 50th season in Fiji — hurled insults at Eliza Orlins, a Jewish contestant who has competed twice on the show. Kendrick, 46, was angry that Orlins released a dossier called 'The Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick Files: MAGA, Misinformation, And Deleted Receipts,' calling her out on her conservative politics. Orlins, a public defender in New York, occasionally criticizes fellow contestants with views she deems 'problematic.' But Kendrick unleashed a foul tirade Sunday night - with her foul-mouthed rant now likely to give CBS bosses the vapors. "Don't come at me with your political status when you're f***ing Jewish,' Kendrick says into the camera. 'Your parents are 1% of the population of wealth.' 'Don't you dare try to say I'm some right-wing bigot. Don't you say that I'm some anti-f***ing gay sh**.' I love gay people. I love people from all walks of life. I don't care who you identify by. F*** you, Eliza.' 'If you think you're gonna try to f***ing ruin me for one second, you're sadly mistaken. Good luck, bitch.' As the offensive video spread across reality TV fan groups and message boards, the show's cast and crew wondered what it meant for the show's heavily-hyped 50th season, which airs in the spring. 'My heart sank and my blood ran cold,' says one Survivor crew member. 'Stephenie is a huge part of Survivor, and she's going to be a big character on the biggest season ever for the franchise. We've already filmed, so I guess there's not a lot we can do.' 'We had a group text going, and someone sent the link to the video. Everyone is like, "oh we are so beyond f***ed."' Orlins, 42, told the Daily Mail that she wasn't the least bit surprised by the abusive video. 'I'm not surprised by Stephenie's defamatory or bigoted remarks because I've known her for nearly 20 years,' she said. 'I didn't know she was anti-Semitic - but again, given her history and the fantastic president she supports, it's not surprising.' 'I hope CBS sees this video ahead of Survivor 50 airing, because I doubt this is the kind of person they want representing their network on the national stage.' Kendrick, who is married to former Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Kyle Kendrick, told the Daily Mail that she had made the video after 'my husband and I just put the kids to bed and were drinking wine.' 'During a conversation in which I was calling out someone for what I perceived as a lack of support for the Jewish community, I misspoke in a way that was abrupt, poorly worded, and offensive,' she said. 'What I meant to express was frustration that someone who is Jewish was not standing up for their own community in a moment that called for unity and support. However, the way I said it was wrong, and I take full responsibility for how it came across.' 'I want to be absolutely clear: I stand fully and unequivocally in support of the Jewish people. I condemn all forms of antisemitism, discrimination, and hate. My comment was not meant to target the Jewish community in any way, and I deeply regret that it may have come across that way.' 'To those I hurt and offended: I hear you and I am truly sorry. I am committed to learning from this and continuing to be a vocal ally for all marginalized communities, including the Jewish community.' Kendrick first competed on Survivor Palau back in 2005. One of the strongest women to ever compete on the show, she outlasted her entire tribe and was left to survive on a tribe by herself. Author Suzanne Collins watched her on the show and was inspired to write the Hunger Games. At the time, Kendrick was the most popular contestant on CBS's website poll, scoring a 92% favorable rating. Although she returned the same year for Survivor Guatemala, and again for 2010's Heroes vs. Villains — Kendrick has yet to win the game. Orlins competed on Survivor: Vanuatu in 2004, and again in Survivor Micronesia in 2008. After competing on The Amazing Race, she unsuccessfully ran for Manhattan District Attorney in New York before returning to her work as a public defender.

Find out if Kelly Clarkson's talk show will be delayed... after the shock death of her ex Brandon Blackstock

The Kelly Clarkson Show's filming schedule reportedly won't be impacted by the death of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock. Production is said to be due to kick off as planned in a matter of weeks. As reported by Deadline, the program is 'on track to start production in early September as scheduled, with tickets available on studio audience sites.' The talent manager died on August 7, aged 48, of natural causes after battling malignant melanoma. Kelly postponed her Las Vegas residency in order to spend more time with their children, River, 11, and Remington, nine, right before his death. In an update regarding her work schedule, a source told Deadline that Kelly missed one shoot for The Voice earlier this month following his passing, but that she was returning this week to film the NBC talent show. Reba McEntire, who was stepmother to Brandon, also filmed her appearance for Season 28. Brandon's death was announced by a family representative on the day he died. They told People at the time: 'It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away. 'Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during this very difficult time.' The 43-year-old pop star - who endured an acrimonious split from the talent manager - had announced on X shortly before his passing: 'Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas. 'While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children's father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.' Although the singer revealed that Brandon was ill, she didn't share any other details about his sickness.
