Suits LA Season 2 cancelled after poor reviews: Report
NBC has cancelled the new season of 'Suits LA', a spin-off of the popular 'Suits' series which gained newfound popularity on Netflix three years after its original run on TV. As per a report in Variety, the decision has been made because of the poor reviews and the low ratings that the Stephen Amell-led series received upon its premiere in February this year.advertisement"'Suits LA' has been cancelled at NBC after just one season, Variety has learned," the report mentioned, adding that the show failed to match the 'hype' of its parent show, making "only a small dent in the ratings and drawing mostly negative reviews upon its debut."The series features Amell playing Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor-turned-big-shot entertainment attorney in Los Angeles. He has to deal with an immediate crisis at hand, and embrace a new role. A lot of the story also unravels in the flashbacks from the past, which focus more on establishing the kind of man Black was, his relationships, and cases that shaped the kind of lawyer that he has become today.
Aaron Korsh, the creator of the 'Suits' world, tried to make 'Suits LA' look more intriguing by adding more exciting appearances by Gabriel Macht (Harvey Spector) and Rick Hoffman (Louis Litt) from the 'Suits' series.advertisementIndia Today has been regularly reviewing a new episode of 'Suits LA' every Monday. While the series has had its high points, it has more misses than hits, and it's already over 10 episodes. In a review titled 'Legal drama turns legal mess - case of identity crisis', we explained how the show has been 'losing the plot fast.' A part of the review read, "Creator Aaron Korsh has got the structure right, but there's no concrete inside. The new 'Suits' series is not able to establish a permanent conflict that makes it capable of making the audience sit up and take notice, leaving them asking for more, or at least making the wait for the next episode difficult. The romance is not romancing, and the mystery is not thrilling enough."The cancellation of 'Suits LA' joins other titles by the channel that have been axed after their first season - 'The Irrational', 'Found', 'Night Court' and 'Lopez vs Lopez'.
