Suits LA Season 2 cancelled after poor reviews: Report

India Today10-05-2025
NBC has cancelled the new season of 'Suits LA', a spin-off of the popular 'Suits' series which gained newfound popularity on Netflix three years after its original run on TV. As per a report in Variety, the decision has been made because of the poor reviews and the low ratings that the Stephen Amell-led series received upon its premiere in February this year.advertisement"'Suits LA' has been cancelled at NBC after just one season, Variety has learned," the report mentioned, adding that the show failed to match the 'hype' of its parent show, making "only a small dent in the ratings and drawing mostly negative reviews upon its debut."The series features Amell playing Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor-turned-big-shot entertainment attorney in Los Angeles. He has to deal with an immediate crisis at hand, and embrace a new role. A lot of the story also unravels in the flashbacks from the past, which focus more on establishing the kind of man Black was, his relationships, and cases that shaped the kind of lawyer that he has become today.
Aaron Korsh, the creator of the 'Suits' world, tried to make 'Suits LA' look more intriguing by adding more exciting appearances by Gabriel Macht (Harvey Spector) and Rick Hoffman (Louis Litt) from the 'Suits' series.advertisementIndia Today has been regularly reviewing a new episode of 'Suits LA' every Monday. While the series has had its high points, it has more misses than hits, and it's already over 10 episodes. In a review titled 'Legal drama turns legal mess - case of identity crisis', we explained how the show has been 'losing the plot fast.' A part of the review read, "Creator Aaron Korsh has got the structure right, but there's no concrete inside. The new 'Suits' series is not able to establish a permanent conflict that makes it capable of making the audience sit up and take notice, leaving them asking for more, or at least making the wait for the next episode difficult. The romance is not romancing, and the mystery is not thrilling enough."The cancellation of 'Suits LA' joins other titles by the channel that have been axed after their first season - 'The Irrational', 'Found', 'Night Court' and 'Lopez vs Lopez'.

Will Only Murders in the Building Come to an End Following Season 5? Find Out as Martin Short Spills the Beans

Only Murders in the Building is set to hit the screens with season 5. The fans are highly anticipating the return of Selena Gomez, Martin Short, and Steve Martin, as they will be solving the case of Lester, the doorman's death. Ahead of the big premiere, Short, who portrays the role of Oliver Putman in the series, sat down for a conversation with Variety and spilled the beans over the upcoming bunch of episodes being the final ones for the show. While there has been no official confirmation over the news from the creators, the fans could potentially say goodbye to the loved trio and podcasters. Is Only Murders in the Building coming to an end? According to Short, who sat down for an interview with the media portal, the show has served its time on the screen. He explained, 'I think that the reality is, you know when it feels like it's past its time. I think everyone's amazed that it's gone this long. This is a long time in streaming to go five years.' The actor went on to add, 'The Dick Van Dyke Show ended after five years because one of the reasons was that they were afraid of losing the quality of it. But then, 'Friends' went on for how long, and they were always brilliant.' As for the upcoming season, Gomez, Short, and Martin will reunite on screens, bringing back the quirk and the mystery while making sure to keep the audience on the edge of their seats. In the last season, the audience witnessed Oliver and Loretta's wedding, and while all seemed well in the beginning of the final episode, things quickly turned horrific after Lester was found dead in the fountain of the Arconia. For the cast, Gomez, Martin, and Short will be joined by Logan Lerman, Meryl Streep, Renee Zellweger, Michael Cyril Creighton, Bobby Cannavale, Coluca, Beanie Feldstein, Jermaine Fowler, Keegan-Michael Key, Richard Kind, Nathan Lane, Téa Leoni, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Christoph Waltz, and Dianne Wiest, among others. Only Murders in the Building season 5 will be available to stream from September 9 on Hulu.
