Teyana Taylor & Iman Shumpert's Battle Escalates To Contempt Of Court Claims Again

Yahoo09-05-2025

Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert's bitter relationship continues months after the finalization of their tumultuous divorce.
The former power couple has become a broken shell of their past selves, frequently throwing shots at each other in court since their 2023 split. Most recently, the now-venomous duo is trying to get the other person locked up for contempt.
Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert were once a fan-favorite for their blossoming romance and united front in public. They were together for seven years in what many assumed was a blissful marriage until they announced their separation in September 2023. They share two children, Junie and Rue.
According to new reports, Shumpert filed a motion for contempt on May 5, where he accused Taylor of violating the terms of their divorce agreement. The 2024 deal included stipulations about their child support, custody, and property division.
The most crucial term in this case, per Shumpert, was the clause prohibiting both parties from discussing their divorce case and agreement. In his motion obtained by In Touch, the former NBA star argued that Taylor violated their agreement on March 12 when she:
"Willfully and contemptuously exposed and broadcast specific provisions of the final judgment decree of divorce and related provisions, recklessly disregarding the financial circumstances, privacy, safety, and security of the parties and their minor children."
Shumpert claimed that Taylor's alleged actions negatively affected his earnings and damaged his personal and professional reputation. He promised to provide the specific amount he lost at a later date before firing off more accusations at his ex-wife.
According to Shumpert, Taylor willfully obstructed and interfered with his right to pick up their children from school on April 17. He claimed she took the kids out without any reason, noting this behavior was on brand for the entertainer.
The former Cleveland Cavaliers player accused Taylor of disparaging him in front of their kids. "For example, in the presence of the children, [Teyana] has shouted crude and inflammatory racial insults at [Iman]," his motion alleged, adding:
"Such insults and criticism of [Iman] have caused the children to unjustly suffer stress and worry, unfairly placing the children in the self-imposed position of peacemaker between their parents."
Based on Taylor's alleged crimes, Shumpert implored the court to find her guilty of civil and criminal contempt. He also asked for severe punishment, including imprisonment for up to 20 days and a $1,000 fine. His demands come weeks after his ex-wife echoed similar sentiments.
Taylor filed a motion to find Shumpert in contempt of violating their divorce agreement by leaking sealed divorce documents to the press.
"[Iman] has consistently exhibited an alarming disregard for the consequences of his contemptuous behavior and should be found in willful contempt of the Court's Decree," her attorney argued.
The "A Thousand and One" actress demanded that the court throw Iman in jail for 20 days and pay fines for his alleged crimes. However, Taylor denied pushing for Shumpert's incarceration in an Instagram Live, telling fans: "I never tried to send Iman to jail. I'm still not trying to send Iman to jail."
Taylor is no stranger to filing motions for contempt, as The Blast noted she did so in 2024 during her divorce from Shumpert. At the time, she accused her former husband of diminishing the value of their marital estate by taking out loans without her knowledge.
The entertainer explained that she became aware of the situation when her counsel noticed a sharp decrease in some of the values Shumpert submitted for certain investment accounts on or about March 7, 2024. The figures differed from the statements he shared with her team in October 2023.
To get to the bottom of this mystery, Taylor enlisted Mike Bean, a certified divorce financial analyst, to investigate Shumpert's movements. The analyst allegedly discovered several loans in his name from 2023, including a $886,285 loan from a marital Merrill Lynch account.
The financial analyst's report about Shumpert continued with withdrawals of $878,760 from a marital Park Avenue account throughout 2023. The former NBA star also took out $1,883,899 against a second-marital Park Avenue account, and another loan of $105,000 from the Mass Mutual Life insurance policy.
Based on the information given to her by the financial analyst, Taylor discovered Shumpert had diminished the value of their marital estate by $3,797,944. She argued his actions violated the court's automatic domestic standing order and pushed to have him held in contempt.
When a person files for divorce in Georgia, they are issued automatic domestic standing orders. These are designed to protect both parties' interests and prevent specific actions, such as a spouse disposing of marital assets while the divorce is ongoing.
Are Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert heading for another nasty legal battle?

Taylor Swift Dance Wedding Video with Travis Kelce Reveals Unmatched Vibe

Taylor Swift Dance Wedding Video with Travis Kelce Reveals Unmatched Vibe originally appeared on Athlon Sports. One thing we know about Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is that he likes to have fun, and it appears he's found the perfect partner to have said fun with: Taylor Swift. Having been dating for over two years, Travis and Taylor hit their first rough patch after the Super Bowl loss and retreated out of the public eye. However, over the past week, it seems they are slowly re-emerging, with the pair spotted on a date night and, most recently, at Travis' cousin's wedding in Tennessee. We have seen pictures of the pair celebrating the wedding, and now, a video has emerged of the couple watching on as the bride and groom shared what we think was their first dance. In the video posted to social media Kelce and Swift were seen dancing and grooving in their seats, with Travis noticeably having his hand on Taylor's knee/leg the whole time. The vibes are unmatched. Often unable to go anywhere without a host of fans swarming them and cameras going off everywhere, the wedding felt like a welcome change of pace for the high-profile couple. It was a relaxed atmosphere; guests didn't crowd the couple, making it uncomfortable. Instead, both Travis and Taylor were able to do their own thing and pose for photos with guests and others. Hence, that is likely why they felt like they could be themselves and have a good time because they didn't have to worry about being swarmed. And it shows, with Taylor and Travis finally able to act like a "normal" couple in public and enjoy spending time together. Teyana Taylor Makes the BET Awards Her ‘Escape Room' in Fiery Performance

After ending her five-year hiatus from music this month, Teyana Taylor took the stage at the BET Awards to perform her latest single 'Long Time' and a seemingly unreleased track on an artful and complex set. Her performance began in front of a backdrop of skyscrapers in flames. Wore red from head to toe as she glided across the stage to a new track where she sings, 'It's cold outside, but inside I'm on fire.' Then, actor Taraji P. Henson made a surprise appearance as a narrator, floating from near the ceiling in a floor-length white gown. Alluding to Taylor's forthcoming concept album Escape Room, Henson warned, 'Even love is something you must escape.' Next, Taylor performed 'Long Time' while floating herself, wearing a silver, robotic getup surrounded by long, loose cables. She commanded a troupe of over a dozen dancers on the ground while she danced in the air, and sparks flew from the ceiling. She also has had a celebrated career as an actor, starring in the critically acclaimed film A Thousand and One in 2023 and with a turn next to Leonardo DiCaprio in One Battle After Another, coming soon. Last week, Taylor announced her fourth album, Escape Room, which is due out in August. It marks her first album in five years, following The Album from June 2020. Actors Aaron Pierre and Lakeith Stanfield star in the music video for the Escape Room single 'Long Time' that Taylor released last week.
