Teyana Taylor & Iman Shumpert's Battle Escalates To Contempt Of Court Claims Again

Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert's bitter relationship continues months after the finalization of their tumultuous divorce. The former power couple has become a broken shell of their past selves, frequently throwing shots at each other in court since their 2023 split. Most recently, the now-venomous duo is trying to get the other person locked up for contempt. Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert were once a fan-favorite for their blossoming romance and united front in public. They were together for seven years in what many assumed was a blissful marriage until they announced their separation in September 2023. They share two children, Junie and Rue. According to new reports, Shumpert filed a motion for contempt on May 5, where he accused Taylor of violating the terms of their divorce agreement. The 2024 deal included stipulations about their child support, custody, and property division. The most crucial term in this case, per Shumpert, was the clause prohibiting both parties from discussing their divorce case and agreement. In his motion obtained by In Touch, the former NBA star argued that Taylor violated their agreement on March 12 when she: "Willfully and contemptuously exposed and broadcast specific provisions of the final judgment decree of divorce and related provisions, recklessly disregarding the financial circumstances, privacy, safety, and security of the parties and their minor children." Shumpert claimed that Taylor's alleged actions negatively affected his earnings and damaged his personal and professional reputation. He promised to provide the specific amount he lost at a later date before firing off more accusations at his ex-wife. According to Shumpert, Taylor willfully obstructed and interfered with his right to pick up their children from school on April 17. He claimed she took the kids out without any reason, noting this behavior was on brand for the entertainer. The former Cleveland Cavaliers player accused Taylor of disparaging him in front of their kids. "For example, in the presence of the children, [Teyana] has shouted crude and inflammatory racial insults at [Iman]," his motion alleged, adding: "Such insults and criticism of [Iman] have caused the children to unjustly suffer stress and worry, unfairly placing the children in the self-imposed position of peacemaker between their parents." Based on Taylor's alleged crimes, Shumpert implored the court to find her guilty of civil and criminal contempt. He also asked for severe punishment, including imprisonment for up to 20 days and a $1,000 fine. His demands come weeks after his ex-wife echoed similar sentiments. Taylor filed a motion to find Shumpert in contempt of violating their divorce agreement by leaking sealed divorce documents to the press. "[Iman] has consistently exhibited an alarming disregard for the consequences of his contemptuous behavior and should be found in willful contempt of the Court's Decree," her attorney argued. The "A Thousand and One" actress demanded that the court throw Iman in jail for 20 days and pay fines for his alleged crimes. However, Taylor denied pushing for Shumpert's incarceration in an Instagram Live, telling fans: "I never tried to send Iman to jail. I'm still not trying to send Iman to jail." Taylor is no stranger to filing motions for contempt, as The Blast noted she did so in 2024 during her divorce from Shumpert. At the time, she accused her former husband of diminishing the value of their marital estate by taking out loans without her knowledge. The entertainer explained that she became aware of the situation when her counsel noticed a sharp decrease in some of the values Shumpert submitted for certain investment accounts on or about March 7, 2024. The figures differed from the statements he shared with her team in October 2023. To get to the bottom of this mystery, Taylor enlisted Mike Bean, a certified divorce financial analyst, to investigate Shumpert's movements. The analyst allegedly discovered several loans in his name from 2023, including a $886,285 loan from a marital Merrill Lynch account. The financial analyst's report about Shumpert continued with withdrawals of $878,760 from a marital Park Avenue account throughout 2023. The former NBA star also took out $1,883,899 against a second-marital Park Avenue account, and another loan of $105,000 from the Mass Mutual Life insurance policy. Based on the information given to her by the financial analyst, Taylor discovered Shumpert had diminished the value of their marital estate by $3,797,944. She argued his actions violated the court's automatic domestic standing order and pushed to have him held in contempt. When a person files for divorce in Georgia, they are issued automatic domestic standing orders. These are designed to protect both parties' interests and prevent specific actions, such as a spouse disposing of marital assets while the divorce is ongoing. Are Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert heading for another nasty legal battle?

Teyana Taylor Attends King's Trust Gala Wearing Christian Louboutin and Maison Margiela's Xrismarteen Boot

Teyana Taylor dressed up for the King's Trust Gala in New York City on Thursday in a combination of luxury items, donning a David Koma animal print coat, Schiaparelli accessories and unique boots from a collaboration by Christian Louboutin and Maison Margiela. The 'A Thousand and One' actress specifically wore David Koma's Zebra Print Trench Coat, a vibrant midi-length garment with a removable overlay at the shoulders which Taylor chose to keep as part of the look. The coat was cinched at the waist with a Schiaparelli belt featuring a large sculpted gold buckle and dangling charms associated with the surrealism-inspired label — an ear, for example, could be seen at her waist. Taylor also wore a mismatched set of earrings from the brand, introducing hints of blue to her ensemble. She wore the Xrismarteen style, which is described on Christian Louboutin's website as 'Illustrating the memory of gesture through a hand-distressed effect.' The shoes are made with nappa leather and feature a pointed toe in addition to a 100 mm heel. In addition to Taylor, Jenna Ortega is another celebrity to have worn one of the styles in the collaborative capsule collection showcasing the decortiqué design method, which allows for the inner layers of the shoes to be seen. A Thousand and One festival amplifies the Kingdom's music scene

RIYADH: Crowds from across the world flocked to attend A Thousand and One, MDLBEAST's new festival concept, where global musicians like DJ Snake and R3hab have come to Saudi Arabia to perform. The dance music festival is equipped with four stages — Sahaab, Bustan, Qafilah, and Qasr — each designed with their own sub-theme under the main concept, inspired by the timeless folktale. 'I think (the theme) is really smart. It's a good way to attract Saudi people as well as the expats,' Irma Saric from Bosnia told Arab News. She came to the festival alongside her friend, Ifeta Selimovic. The two Bosnians have been living in Saudi Arabia for several years and were excited to see a DJ from their home country, Salvatore Ganacci, on stage. 'What attracted me the most is the diversity in techno music and how there's a mix of culture, but yet it's so modern here … The music scene in Saudi is amazing. I love everything about it. I love the diversity the most. I love how they're also trying to mix Arabic music with modern beats,' Saric told Arab News. Selimovic is a regular attendee of MDLBEAST's events, including its flagship Soundstorm festival, and was excited to see DJ Snake and Turkish DJ Mahmut Orhan alongside Ganacci. 'I love the DJs a lot, the atmosphere, how they made this whole concert and everything. And I love, also, 'her' zone, because it's only us girls gathering and having fun … You are in your own world. You are just focusing on the music, and that's it, and it's not too crowded,' she told Arab News. Located in Banban, where Soundstorm's underground section took place, the four stages have transformed into magical, folkloric sets. The Qasr stage is inspired by a sultan's palace with Arabian architecture, where electronic and experimental sounds take over; the Qafilah stage echoed the spirit of camel caravans and Saudi Arabia's rich trading heritage, with tech house and melodic beats; the Bustan stage is a lush, immersive garden experience inspired by the ancient 'Kalila Wa Dimna' tales, featuring a diverse mix of genres; while the Sahaab stage was inspired by Aladdin's flying carpet. The festival also features the Bizarre Bazaar, a reimagined Middle Eastern souq where music, food, art, and culture collide. 'These kinds of festivals only happen, like, every three months, so I love to come and dance and have fun,' Saudi attendee Fares Alkudsi, who came especially for DJ Snake, said. 'The music scene has been good here ever since, but before 2019 there was not much attention to it, so now they're giving a lot of attention to the youth, they're giving a lot of attention to the artists that we love, so it's a good thing for us.' William Shakkour, from Syria but born and raised in Saudi Arabia, decided to attend the festival on a whim, and said it reminded him of the first edition of Soundstorm. 'It was basic, simple, and fantastic, so I think in the next versions, it (A Thousand and One) will be better than this one,' he told Arab News. 'Saudi Arabia has become an icon for music festivals, for the Red Sea Festival, for cinemas, for everything. I think in the near future, it will be the icon of the Middle East in different ways, like cinema, music festivals, and all the other things (in) entertainment,' he said. Vinyl Mode has been a part of the underground music scene for two decades, where many local DJs convened for the love of music, and he has since performed on countless stages during his career. On Thursday, he closed off the Sahaab stage with his house music set. 'I am excited because it's a very new concept. We are used to the massive production at the end of the year, and I have been always thinking, 'well, you know, what if we do something mid-year,' and it's happening, but with style,' he told Arab News. 'What makes it special is that it's a new moment, a new feeling, a new experience.' Hyped-up Saudi crowds have become a testament to the strength and growth of the music landscape in the region. 'The people (are) loving the music, the people getting more, learning more, being more educated. So I believe we are very lucky to be a part of this movement,' he said.
