'Proudest of days!' Emmerdale legend reveals she is now 10 years sober
Emmerdale's Lisa Riley has shared a message on her social media confirming she has now been sober for 10 years.
The beloved star is best known for her role as Mandy Dingle in the ITV soap. Lisa is very active on X and Instagram, often posting snippets of her life away from Emmerdale.
Today, she shared a heartfelt post on both platforms that reveals she hasn't drunk alcohol for ten years.
On Instagram, Lisa wrote in the caption: 'This momentous day today marks a milestone, which I'm insanely proud of. I would never have believed if you had said this to me years ago…as I poured another glass of Malbec…I'm 10 years sober today!!!'
'My life is the clearest, happiest, it's precious to me, REALLY precious, to have the clarity, the real, the genuine, no BS, just real, from the moment I wake up, until i fall asleep at night.
'Now fair enough I might not be for everyone (and that's absolutely fine) but I'm enough for me, because I don't hide behind alcohol, I don't lie that I'm happy attending something I don't want to be at, and the biggest, is leaving somewhere because I'm ready to leave, not tolerating nonsense.
She added: 'I hid behind booze for so so so many years of my life, now I fly free, and I've never ever, ever felt better!!! Cheers everyone…….feels bloody ace!!!'
Last year, ahead of her celebrating 9 years sober, Lisa spoke to Ranvir Singh on Lorraine about her decision to cut alcohol from her life: 'I'm going to be nine years sober,' she said.
'I just stopped drinking for the good and better for me, I prefer me.
Ranvir asked: 'What was it for you if you don't mind me asking, that was like I don't want to do this anymore?'
Lisa replied: 'I was self medicating. I know that with alcohol. I wasn't sleeping because I lost my mum, and I wasn't coping very well.
'A bottle and a half two bottles of Malbec helped completely in those times, I never thought that I'd be here now and I love it.'
Lisa first rocked up on our screens as the feisty but loveable Mandy in 1995 before leaving the Dales six years later.
Thankfully she reprised her role in 2019 and has been on our screens ever since.
Mandy Dingle is married to Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt). They live at Tenants, and recently decided to let vulnerable homeless teenager Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) stay with them.
Things got a bit awkward for Mandy though, as she walked into the house moments after Dylan had slept with his friend April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan).
April begged Mandy not to say anything to Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock), but that really didn't last long. Mandy told Marlon, and gently helped him come to terms with that he's been struggling to accept his little girl isn't so little anymore. More Trending
Elsewhere, Mandy's son Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) is in the middle of a storyline that's seen him try and come to terms with his sexuality.

In the most recent development, Vinny invited a man called Mike over, who he met on online.
Vinny had told some private information to Mike, but he sadly wasn't the person Vinny thought he was. Mike attacked Vinny, demanded money from him, and then left.

To explain his injuries and also hide the truth, Vinny told Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) that his friend Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah) was responsible.

Gladiators thrown into chaos as four stars injured while filming new series
Filming for the new series of Gladiators has been thrown into chaos after a number of its stars got injured during filming for the new series, as the programme prepares to return to our screens Filming for the new series of Gladiators has been thrown into chaos after a handful of stars were injured on the set. The latest batch of episodes for the BBC programme, which was revived in 2024 with father-and-son duo Bradley and Barney Walsh at the helm, is currently in production but things have not gone entirely to plan. Legend, Bionic, Diamond and Athena are the four stars of the series that have been landed with injuries. Legend, whose real name is Matt Morsia, tore a bicep, whilst Matty Campbell, who is better known to fans as Bionic, has dislocated his shoulder. Livi Sheldon, whose Gladiators alter-ego is Diamond, ruptured the ACL and MCL in her knee. As well as all that, Athena, whose real name is Karenjeet Kaur Bains, smashed her knee. Speaking about the incidents, a source told The Sun: "Gladiators is the ultimate test of speed, strength and endurance - and four of its champions have paid the price. It just goes to show that these games are tough and even our professionals can suffer injuries!" It comes as ITV axes Noel Edmonds' big TV comeback after just one series. READ MORE: Final Strictly Come Dancing star announced as fans fume over 'underwhelming' line-up According to the outlet, all of the injuries were sustained at the Utilita Arena in Sheffield whilst cameras were rolling for the next series of the programme. But despite the individual ordeals, it has been claimed that all the stars will feature when the show goes to air later this year, and they will also all be taking part in the live tour when that hits the road this autumn. But this is not the first time that the stars have suffered such injuries, as fans will remember that Comet, real name Ella-Mae Rayner, broke her ankle and had to undergo an operation to rebuild her foot. What's more, Sheli McCoy, better known as Sabre, tore her hamstring during production, and at the time noted to Metro that the 'competitive' nature of her job meant that nothing on set 'came without risk.' However, a spokesperson for the BBC previously insised that health and safety is taken seriously on the set as they said: "The health and well-being of all Gladiators, contenders and crew is of paramount importance. Gladiators is one of the toughest and most physically demanding programmes on TV and due to the high-impact nature of the show it is not unusual for those competing to suffer injuries. "In each instance, as soon as it became apparent that a potential injury had occurred, the correct protocol was immediately followed. "The injured Gladiators are currently following medical advice and working on their recoveries.' This is the second time Gladiators has been revived on television since starting life in the 1990s, and, Athena, Bionic, Comet, Cyclone, Diamond, Dynamite, Electro, Fire, Fury, Giant, Hammer, Legend, Nitro, Phantom, Sabre, Steel, and Viper will be back on screen in 2026. The BBC's version of the hit became the most watched Saturday night series on BBC iPlayer and the third most watched Entertainment series overall. The show averaged 5.3m viewers, with nearly two fifths streaming on demand. The revival of the show has also capture younger viewers with 1.3 million tuning in for each episode, accounting for nearly a quarter of the show's overall audience. Speaking on the news, Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC says: 'Audiences have loved getting together to watch our mighty Gladiators take on contenders from all across the UK with younger fans especially excited to cheer on their Saturday night superheroes. "With this brand-new series and another Celebrity Special confirmed there will be even more epic battles, more high-octane action and of course even more foam fingers than ever before for everyone to look forward to!" Before the next series hits screens, fans will be able to catch Nitro competing in the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing, and he will be putting his footwork to the test for judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke. Also known as Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, he appeared in last year's Christmas edition of the programme. Upon his casting for the main competition, he said: "After the Christmas Special, it was so nice I just had to do it twice! I'm so excited to be part of the Strictly family this series and I'm ready to give it all I've got. I'll be bringing tons of energy to light up the dance floor. Let's hope I'm as quick picking up the routines as I am on the track!"

Princess Andre reveals why she'd never call out mum Katie Price over ‘rift' amid accusations star ‘tried to overshadow'
THE teen has just launched her own TV show - but her relationship with her mum has taken centre stage keeping mum Princess Andre reveals why she'd never call out mum Katie Price over 'rift' amid accusations star 'tried to overshadow' Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) PRINCESS Andre has revealed the reason she never calls out her mum after a disagreement or issue. The 18-year-old admitted 'it's not worth' bringing things up with Katie Price in a telling comment amid reports of ongoing tension between the pair. Speaking to The Guardian, ITV's The Princess Diaries star, said it was 'interesting' her mum had told the media about not attending the bash. And when asked why she didn't call Katie to ask her about it, Princess said 'it wasn't worth it', adding: 'Mum can be annoyed about something and then we send each other a message and we're fine.' She candidly explained that Katie would never have been invited because her parents 'don't like each other.' 'It would be quite strange for my mum and dad to be in it at the same time, just because that's never been the case in my life since they split up,' she said. Princess turned 18 back in June, and at the time Katie claimed she wasn't invited because she had been banned from appearing in The Princess Diaries. Speaking on her The Katie Price Show podcast at the time, she said: "Everyone knows she's doing this documentary - and I'm not in it. "Certain people don't think it's good for Princess to be seen with me. Certain people that used to look after me." Her sister Sophie chipped in: "You aren't on brand Katie. You are too risky Katie that's why." Katie then said: "It's pathetic. I'm her mother. Princess Andre breaks silence on Peter and Katie's bitter feud after his blistering statement "I'm just saying, Princess was like 'I'm having a party'. And I wasn't invited because it was for 'filming.'" Sources at the time told the Mirror that Katie has been trying to "insert herself" into Princess's career and her "attention-seeking" behaviour just 24 hours before her new ITV show aired was to "overshadow" the launch. 'It was all in the diary but then Katie claimed she couldn't make it as she was abroad. It was disappointing," a source told the publication. 'For Katie to then say she was banned from the afternoon's filmed party when she was the no-show in the morning is just beyond belief.' 3 Peter Andre appears in his daughter's doc but Katie does not Credit: Splash Katie admitted her frustrations, saying: 'I'm not making money off my daughter. So I am fuming about the situation, but at the same time, I want Princess to do well and I back her in every way. "The family, we're all fuming about it. How, again, not one member of our family or anything are involved in anything Princess does." But the source insisted that Katie should not have "made it all about her" the eve of her daughter's show, regardless of what's happened. While another source said it was "unfair" for Princess to be forced to deal with this fallout so publicly before her big TV career move.

These stunning NYC restaurants have been shortlisted for this year's Restaurant & Bar Design Awards
The Oscars of restaurant design are back—and New York has shown up dressed to kill. The annual Restaurant & Bar Design Awards, which spotlight the most jaw-dropping dining spaces around the globe, just revealed its 2025 shortlist and a handful of NYC spots made the cut. If you needed an excuse to eat somewhere pretty enough to make your Instagram followers jealous, consider this it. Brass, designed by Islyn Studio, is a love letter to glam nostalgia. With gleaming metallic surfaces, rich textures and a mood that feels part supper club, part glossy fever dream, it's no surprise it's up for multiple categories, including Standalone and Heritage Building. Translation: historic but make it chic. La Tête d'Or, Daniel Boulud's latest Midtown showpiece, is another strong contender. Velvet banquettes, an amber glow and a kitchen that doubles as an architectural centerpiece make it a visual feast before the steak even hits the table. The design has been recognized for both Lighting and In Another Space, but the 45-day-aged rib-eye might deserve an award of its own. The View, from Rockwell Group, is shortlisted in the Hotel category and practically cheats with its built-in asset: skyline vistas. Add in Rockwell's signature polish and you've got a dining room that reminds you why people put up with New York rent prices. Ken Fulk's Felix Roasting Co. has long been the city's most decadent caffeine fix, with marble counters, vintage-inspired fixtures and the kind of jewel-box interiors that make your flat white feel like a fashion accessory. The café nod proves that even your morning espresso deserves drama. The Otter, a hotel restaurant from Hannes Peer, is pure playfulness, combining bold colors, luxe finishes and splashy murals. Shortlisted across multiple categories, it proves that maximalism is alive and well downtown. And then there's Mission Ceviche, the first full-service restaurant from chef José Luis Chavez. Airy interiors, biophilic design touches, and South American flair landed it nominations in Standalone and Surface Interiors. Between the Nikkei ceviche and the moody-but-fresh aesthetic, it's basically a mini vacation on East 74th Street. They're not alone: Obvio, Clemente Bar, Twin Tails, Postcard and Crane Club also earned recognition this year, underscoring just how wide and varied New York's design talent runs, from inventive visual identities to hotel showpieces and intimate standalones.
