The New England Patriots had a fantastic draft in 2025.
The team selected a whopping 11 players, and several of these players should be in a position to contribute immediately.

Head coach Mike Vrabel of the New England Patriots speaks to the media during the NFL Scouting Combine at the Indiana Convention Center on February 25, 2025.In the first round, the team stood pat and selected arguably the best offensive lineman in the draft in Will Campbell. Campbell should be the team's left tackle of the future after starring at LSU in college.
In the second round, the team added talented Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson. Henderson could immediately challenege Rhamondre Stevenson for the starting gig thanks to his versatily and toughness.
Elsewhere, the team added quality prospects like Washington State wide receiver Nick Williams, Georgia offensive lineman Jared Wilson, and LSU edge-rusher Bradyn Swinson, among others.
Now, let's identify the best and worst pick the team made last weekend. This was a solid draft class, so it may be hard to find the worst pick.
Best: Round 3, Pick 69- Kyle Williams, WR, Washington State
While Campbell fills an obvious need and could end up being an elite player, it would be too easy to go with that pick.
Instead, we'll go with third-round pick Kyle Williams. Williams is a solid route-runner already with sure hands and the quickness to get open across the middle. The Patriots desperately need to get better at wide receiver, and Williams helps the team do that.
Quarterback Drake Maye showed flashes as a rookie in 2024, but his supporting cst needs to be upgraded. Stefon Diggs was brought in this offseason, and now the veteran and rookie Williams should give Maye a reliable pass-catching duo.
Williams easily could've gone higher, too, so this pick not only fills a need, but represents great value as well.
Worst: Round 3, Pick 95- Jared Wilson, C, Georgia
It's hard to identify the team's worst pick considering I like this class a lot.
However, if I had to pick the worst pick, it would have to be Jared Wilson in the third round. Wilson is a fine player, but the team did add reliable veteran Garrett Bradbury at center this offseason.
Wilson is a solid backup option and could eventually take over for Bradbury, but a third-round pick could've been used more wisely.
For example, Notre Dame safety Xavier Watts was surprisingly still available when the team took Wilson. Watts impressed at Notre Dame and could've been a nice addition to the Patriots' secondary.
Another smart pick would've been edge-rusher Sai'vion Jones or wide receiver Tai Felton instead of a backup center.

Former Patriots players congratulate David Andrews in heartfelt tribute video

Former Patriots players congratulate David Andrews in heartfelt tribute video Former members of the New England Patriots congratulated center David Andrews on his retirement earlier this week. They delivered their messages in a video posted by the team on social media. Andrews officially retired after 10 seasons in the NFL. He was a cornerstone of the Patriots' offensive line throughout his career and a longtime team captain. He won two Super Bowls with the team and established himself as one of the franchise's all-time greats. The team held a retirement press conference in his honor. It was a celebratory afternoon for many, as warm wishes and familiar faces made appearances on the day. Many former Patriots players, including legendary quarterback Tom Brady, appeared in a tribute video congratulating Andrews on a great career. 'David! Congratulations, my man. Welcome to the other side,' Brady said. "You couldn't have had a better career. You were not only a great teammate, but you are a champion. Playing that center position for our team all those years. As you know, the heart and soul of any great team is the offensive line, and you were the leader. You were right in the middle.' Former legendary tight end Rob Gronkowski also gave a shout-out to Andrews in the video. Gronkowski said, 'David Andrews, before we get into your career, I just want to say how good you looked when I saw you the other day. 'Your leadership, toughness you brought to the table and most importantly, your consistency as a player, was remarkable. You're a standup player on the field and off the field, buddy. I'm glad I was there from the beginning to see you develop into the anchor that you were on the offensive line.' Andrews is undoubtedly a legend in his own right and a future Patriots Hall of Famer. Like so many others, no matter where life takes him, he will always be a Patriot. Follow Patriots Wire on Twitter and Facebook.

Patriots' interest in Ravens WR could mean team isn't done adding help

Patriots' interest in Ravens WR could mean team isn't done adding help The New England Patriots were reportedly among the teams interested in trading for Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman, before he signed a three-year, $36.75 million extension with the Ravens. That could hint that the Patriots aren't done adding to their wide receivers room, even though they currently have 12 receivers on the roster. Bateman is coming off a career season with the Ravens after recording 45 catches for 756 yards and nine touchdowns last season. He proved to be an impact playmaker, averaging 16.8 yards per catch. 'So this is fascinating. What led to [Bateman's] contract extension was that he was almost traded during this offseason because he went to the Ravens, wanted a new deal," ESPN's Jeremy Fowler said on NFL Live. "They essentially said no, but they gave him permission to seek a trade so he went out on the open market and talked with teams. "And I was told there were several involved or had interest—[Dallas] Cowboys, New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers. So he saw he had a market. The Ravens saw that and said, 'Okay, we'll just pay you instead. We won't trade you.'" If the Patriots showed interest in Bateman, would they show interest in another wide receiver ahead of the 2025 season? It makes you wonder if they'd consider giving the Washington Commanders a call on veteran wideout Terry McLaurin, who is unhappy with his current deal. If anything, this proves the Patriots are still looking to be aggressive if the right opportunity presents itself. Follow Patriots Wire on Twitter and Facebook.

Texas, Texas A&M and Baylor are all in line to host the blue-chip defender with our attention largely fixated on the Aggies and Longhorns. Each of these in-state programs have been trending with Carlton at various points over the past few months -- with Texas A&M taking a major step forward this spring. As a commitment looms, the Aggies' June 13 official visit looms large toward their chances of winning this critical recruiting battle against the Longhorns and Tigers. KEISEAN HENDERSON - Florida State, June 9 Henderson has been the face of Houston's 2026 recruiting class. The five-star OT has been on campus at Ole Miss, Florida, Texas Tech and Colorado -- and recently wrapped up an official visit to Ohio State. Texas is on the calendar for June 13 -- one of the biggest recruiting weekends in Austin this summer. Ojo is a priority target for Steve Sarkisian, Kyle Flood and this Longhorns' staff, and they have been playing with a lead with the in-state OL. Texas is prepared to go all-in to keep Ojo inside the Lone Star State -- and this visit back looms incredibly large toward accomplishing that. The Longhorns have remained the team best positioned with the in-state OL and made a sizable impression on Turntine and his family during their most recent visit to the Forty. Texas gets the final crack at Turntine on June 20 before a commitment later this summer.
