KUWAIT CITY, May 27: Dean of Kuwaiti journalism and Editor-in-Chief of the Arab Times and Al-Seyassah newspapers Ahmed Al-Jarallah met with Ambassador of the Republic of Pakistan to Kuwait Dr. Zafar Iqbal at his office in Dar Al- Seyassah on Tuesday. They discussed ways to strengthen media cooperation, a number of current regional and international issues, and ways to address the media developments. During the meeting, Al-Jarallah emphasized the importance of the media's role in building bridges of communication between peoples.
He affirmed the commitment of the Arab Times and Al-Seyassah to continue as a platform for constructive dialogue and media diplomacy, reflecting the strength of Kuwaiti-Pakistani relations. On the other hand, Iqbal praised the pioneering role of the two newspapers, the wise editorial management headed by Al-Jarallah, and their effective role in supporting humanitarian issues and promoting positive dialogue. He said the embassy is keen on strengthening cooperation with Kuwaiti media outlets. Director of Legal Affairs at Dar Al-Seyassah Hamada Al- Amir and Managing Editor of the Arab Times Marlon Aquino Malinao were also present at the meeting.

The New Kuwait 2035 Vision has achieved tremendous success across multiple sectors, elevating Kuwait's regional and international standing,' he said. Regarding Kuwait's cultural richness, he said: 'From the majestic Grand Mosque to the vibrant Souq Al-Mubarakiya, from traditional Sadu weaving to modern architectural marvels like Al Hamra Tower and the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre, the blend of heritage and modernity left a deep impression on me.' The Ambassador highlighted key accomplishments during his term, adding that there were two meetings between Chinese President Xi Jinping and HH the Amir Sheikh Meshal that fostered strategic alignment. On economic cooperation, he mentioned that China remained Kuwait's largest trading partner for 10 consecutive years, explaining: 'Substantial progress was achieved in landmark ventures such as Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port and renewable energy initiatives.' He noted that the first Chinese Cultural Center in the Gulf was established in Kuwait during his tenure, and exchanges among students, academics, media and youth increased. The ambassador also welcomed the recent Chinese decision to grant visa exemptions to Kuwaiti passport holders, saying: 'We warmly welcome more Kuwaiti friends to explore China.' Concluding his remarks, the Chinese Ambassador affirmed his confidence in the bright future of China-Kuwait relations and pledged to continue promoting this enduring friendship wherever he goes.

KUWAIT: The Commercial Real Estate Company (Al-Tijaria), one of Kuwait's leading real estate companies, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with China State Construction Engineering Corporation Ltd (CSCEC), a global construction giant based in China, to jointly explore and collaborate on a range of strategically selected development projects tendered by governmental authorities in Kuwait. This agreement establishes the framework for collaborative efforts in conducting technical and financial feasibility studies during the bidding phase with CSCEC, who will perform these services in the capacity of the prospective construction contractor, subject to the viability of the project and the successful award of the contract. The partnership also outlines a framework for CSCEC to potentially invest in the projects alongside Al-Tijaria—subject to regulatory and authority approvals. CSCEC, in its capacity as the contractor, may also extend its support by introducing potential lenders to facilitate project financing arrangements on competitive terms. CEO of Al-Tijaria, Eng. Abdulmutaleb Marafie, commented: 'This MOU marks a significant step in our strategy to engage in public-private development opportunities in Kuwait.
